COMING BACK HERE TWO MORE TIMES HERE AND IN OCTOBER, TALK ABOUT MARTINSVILLE AND THE SUCCESS YOU’VE HAD AND KNOWING YOU HAVE TWO MORE CHANCES AT IT.
“I’m excited about those opportunities. This has been a fantastic racetrack for me throughout my career. Martinsville is probably the reason when we made the announcement in January why we left that little bit of window and door open. This is probably the first track that comes to mind for me that if I ran another race – not that I have plans to – that I’d do it at Martinsville… Truck, Cup, maybe Late Model. I just love this track. The least amount of things change at Martinsville that changes at any other track we go to. Aerodynamics don’t make as big of a difference. Tires don’t change much here. The speeds may gradually change here. When you look at every other track on the circuit and especially the bigger tracks when aerodynamics start to make a huge difference, that changes how you drive the car, how you set up the car, and the knowledge you have to have of all the data and technology that’s going on with the cars. This one, you don’t have to worry that near as much. This week, of course, with the lack of power it’s going to change things a good bit and how we’re going to drive this track. But those are the reasons why I love this track so much and I always loved coming back here. YOU WON YOUR FIRST RACE HERE IN THE FALL. WHAT IS IT ABOUT THIS TRACK THAT WORKS WITH YOUR DRIVING STYLE?
“I do enjoy racing the short tracks. I think that in general, I’ve done better on the short tracks than any other tracks. The first time I came here, I hit everything, even the pace car. It looked like, at that time, after my first race here, that it was going to be quite a challenge to sort it out and understand what I needed to do. And then, me and Tony Jr. and Tony (Eury) Sr., came up here and tested in 2001 or 2003 or sometime around there. And we hit on some stuff and was really good for a long time. We just ran a lot of good races and finished in the Top 5 quite a few times. It’s been one of my favorite tracks ever since. I love the action and I love the short track mentality. Metal Mulisha will enter tomorrow night’s racing world championship with the number one seed.

In the fourth annual Young Guns ShootoutSM, Monster Energy, driven by Coty Saucier, drove away with the 2015 title and will round out the 32 Monster Jam® truck line-up for the racing and freestyle world championships taking place tomorrow night and Saturday night.

“I talked to my Crew Chief about this earlier today and told him we would break 16 seconds this year,” said, Metal Mulisha driver, LeDuc. “We did it again and I’m stoked! My crew chief is the best and there’s so much more to come.”

GUSTAFSON: “This has been a good place for Hendrick Motorsports in general. The company got its first win here and has had a lot of success since that point. It’s always been a special place for us. It’s close to home and I think for all of us short track racing is close to our hearts. When you come here this is definitely a true short track. We always enjoy coming here. Fortunately having good teams and good drivers we have had some success here and been able to win some races. Always fun to get back here, the place doesn’t seem to change much. It seems to stay pretty true to its form which is special in this sport now-a-days. It’s nice. The race season is just a few weeks away! I’m just letting everyone know that this weekend at the Allen County Fairgrounds is our annual Race Expo- a great time to come out and check out all the race cars up close and talk with the drivers and crew members.

The doors will open Friday at noon until 10:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. There is food and refreshment along with prizes to win also. For kids also on Saturday from 2 to 4 there will be a magician on hand along with a clown and free balloons and face painting for the kids to enjoy.
This is a great time for the whole family and also you can try your hand at driving one of the many race car simulators.

I will have my race on display also. The car is all looking good and ready to go for the new season to start! Opening day is April 17th at LimaLand Motorsports Park.

Marstons Mills, MA-March 26, 2015-Jay Blake’s Permatex/Follow A Dream Top Alcohol Funny Car team heads to Charlotte this weekend for the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at spectacular zMax Dragway hot off their fastest runs ever. Driver Todd Veney, whose career-best before the Gatornationals was 262 mph, ran at least 262 on four of five passes in Gainesville and made the team’s three fastest runs to date – 263.98, 264.13, and 265.22 mph.

“The temperature is supposed to be in the 50s on Saturday and Sunday, and they’ve completely repaved the track since we were there last fall,” Veney said. “Charlotte is where we made our quickest two runs ever – 5.52 and 5.53 – so I can’t wait to see what the car might run this weekend.”

“We’ve made a lot of progress already this year,” said Blake, who’s been on the road since the Gatornationals at speaking engagements across the southeastern U.S. “It’s time for another national event win for Follow A Dream, and Charlotte is as good a place as any to do it.”

Scelzi, who was fresh from being involved in a scary fire that left second and third-degree burns on his left leg the previous weekend, scored a top 10 last Friday at Marysville Raceway in Marysville, Calif., before capping the weekend by advancing into the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series feature at Stockton Dirt Track on Sunday.

Brian Scott Contends for Top Finish En Route to 27th-Place Finish at Auto Club Speedway

Brian Scott entered his eighth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Auto Club Speedway with experience under his belt. The 27-year-old driver had already competed in the 2014 Auto Club 400 and was looking to improve his finishing position on Sunday afternoon. The No. 33 Whitetail Club Chevy qualified 25th for the scheduled 200-lap event and Scott found himself racing inside the top 20 within 15 laps of competition after the green flag waved. By lap 31 Scott was racing in 16th place continually gaining on the front runners. He raced his way through the field taking over the 11th spot on lap 53. Green-flag pit stops brought the Whitetail Chevy to pit road on lap 61 for four tires, fuel and an air pressure adjustment. The air pressure was the right adjustment as Scott moved into the 10th place on lap 78. Another caution brought the No. 33 machine to pit road for four tires, fuel and a tire pressure adjustment on lap 87. The Slugger Labbe-led team gained two spots on pit road and restarted in the eighth position on lap 92. Scott reported his Whitetail Chevrolet SS was too tight taking off and moved to the 12th position. During the long green-flag run, Scott made contact with the wall causing slight right-front damage. He remained inside the top 18 for the next 50 laps. Green-flag stops on lap 137 put the No. 33 machine down one lap racing for the lucky dog position. As others took the wave around, Scott restarted in the 28th position with four fresh tires, fuel and 43 laps to go. The No. 33 Whitetail Club took the wave around on the lap 185 caution. With two attempts at a green-white-checkered finish, the Boise, Idaho native crossed the finish line with a 27th-place finish.
