Troy Coughlin Jr. to banner ‘WELD Racing At JEGS’ design at Route 66 NHRA Nationals
JOLIET, Ill. (May 30) — Reigning North Central Region Top Alcohol Dragster champion
Troy Coughlin Jr. will unveil a special “WELD Racing At JEGS” design on the top-
running McPhillips Racing dragster he’ll pilot at this weekend’s Route 66 NHRA
Nationals.

Coughlin, a four-time winner in the category in 2018, is fresh off a runner-up finish at
last weekend’s Division 1 series opener in Reading, Pa., and hopes another strong
performance will pay immediate dividends for WELD Racing, an industry leader in high-
performance racing and street car wheels.

“The car’s looking great and I can tell you it’s a real honor to represent a company with
as deep a racing tradition as WELD,” Coughlin said. “My thanks to Vic Wood and all the
great people at WELD for jumping on board with us.

“It’s going to be fun to promote their V-Series and RT-S wheels and hopefully we’ll sell a
lot of product for them. What’s really neat is if you jump on JEGS.com and use our
wheel simulator, you can see what all the different WELD wheels look like on your own
ride.”

Founded in 1967, WELD makes wheels for the street, drag strip, oval tracks, trucks and
off-road segments. WELD Racing’s production facility is located in Kansas City.

“JEGS is a premium partner of ours,” Vice President of Sales Vic Wood said. “And
we’ve been big fans of Troy Jr. since he started racing and we love the professionalism
of the entire group at McPhillips Racing. We are very proud to be a part of the team this
weekend.

“This is just a fun way to wave the flag in a different manner and draw attention to the
fact that WELD Racing wheels are available 24 hours a day at JEGS.com. We hope
everyone in need of wheels gives our products a look and cheers on Troy Jr. at the
same time.”
