Follow A Dream Funny Car Does Not Disappoint at First Race of the Season
Follow A Dream – Maple Grove Raceway Regionals – Friday May 31, 2019

MARSTONS MILLS, Massachusetts (May 31, 2019) – The Follow A Dream Team was eager to return to the track at Maple Grove to kick off the 2019 season. Especially team owner and Crew Chief Jay Blake. Maple Grove holds a special place in Jay’s heart. This track is where he decided to follow his own dream and start the non profit organization and race team Follow A Dream. The first race of the season did not disappoint!

Burkart’s first qualify passes down the track in the Follow A Dream Funny Car were decent. Burkart and the team qualified 5th with their best ET 5.69 at 263.36 mph. Tuner Anthony Terenzio worked hard all weekend determined to find the sweet spot and was able to get the Funny Car tuned in nicely.

The Dream Team stole Round 1 of Eliminations when Tigges went red to give Burkart the win. Burkart sailed across the finish line with a 5.74 262.28 mph win.
Round 2 would not be as fortunate for the Dream Team. Bellemeur had a tick advantage on the tree and took the win getting down the track a bit faster with a 5.48 270 mph to Burkart’s 5.59 264.55 mph.
The Team was thrilled to be back for the season and satisfied with the cars overall performance making it to the semi-finals on the Funny Car’s first race of 2019.
While at the track on Friday Jay was able to spend some time with a group of young adults making their first trip to the dragstrip.

They enjoyed a lunch and tour of the track provided by Maple Grove Raceway. Jay gave his “5 Tools for your life’s toolbox” presentation over lunch, then the group was treated to a meet and greet with the Dream Team at the Follow A Dream pit. There, they received autographs, got to meet the team, and got a close up look at the Follow A Dream Top Alcohol Funny Car.

Jay Blake was exhilarated to be at the dragstrip
“It’s great to be here at my favorite track to kick off Follow A Dream’s 2019 season. I’m very grateful to the folks at Maple Grove Raceway for setting up the visit with the group of young adults. I love being able to share not only my love of drag racing, but also my own personal message of overcoming adversity to live out my dreams. I think it’s a message they can all learn from. We all have obstacles in our lives, some just take longer than others to tackle. If you quit you will never know success.”

The team is still tentative about their racing schedule this season but is planning to announce appearences on a race by race basis. You can catch Jay at the Vehicles for Vision Invitational in Whitesboro NY on Sunday June 9th at The Harts Hill Inn 135 Clinton Street Whitesboro, NY.
