MAX ANGELELLI, WAYNE TAYLOR RACING NO. 10 KONICA MINOLTA CORVETTE DP: “The car was very good but I fought all the time because the cars in front of me were slower than I was and I was trying to find a way to overtake them. So it was tough, but I am pleased with the team and pleased with the car. The car is really, really strong and I am looking forward to the race. When you have a car like this, you really enjoy driving it.”

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “Pretty routine start of a 24-hour race. People are finding their way and causing some trouble but all-in-all it was pretty clean in the first triple-stint there. I’m pretty happy with how the Corvette is driving right now and we are quick in our class which is obviously nice, but there is still a long way to go. That is just part one of writing a good story so to speak. So yeah, I am really happy and now we get Marcel in for his laps and get him comfortable and settled in, and then we can kind of push on from there.”

IF YOU COULD NAME ONE THING THAT YOU COULD USE A LITTLE MORE OF WHEN YOU GET BACK IN, WHAT WOULD THAT BE? “There is still some work to be done on the setup of the car a little bit. The car is not perfect by any means, but where it is good is in all the right spots. It’s a bit of a handful in the high-speed stuff and we have set ourselves up to make some passes in a straight line. It seems like that is working well, but some of the stuff in the infield isn’t quite where I would want it to be but it’s still good enough for right now. So, it’s a long race and we can still make some adjustments as the race goes on and really try and dial in the car so that we have a chance to push hard at the end.”

ANTONIO GARCIA, CORVETTE RACING NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “Everything ran according to plan. When Jan came in, I could see that the car was very good. He did a really fast last stint before I got in, so I felt really confident. The Corvette behaved just as I wanted. Whenever we are able to lead the race right now, we will take it. But there is still a big risk factor out there. We want to be fast but more important is saving the car as much as possible.”

CHRISTIAN FITTIPALDI, ACTION EXPRESS RACING NO. 5 MUSTANG SAMPLING CORVETTE DP: “That was a pretty solid stint. The car is good. We have some understeer but we’re not losing time on that. We’re losing the majority of our time on power-down. Overall, I’m pretty happy. We’re in the hunt and we have a lot of racing ahead of us.”

MARCEL FÄSSLER, CORVETTE RACING NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “It’s really close and a ton of work, actually. But it’s also great fun because we had great battles in our class against BMW, the Porsches, the Ferraris and even the other Corvette. The restarts were quite tricky because we were not on old tires all of the time. In the middle of the field and going into the first corner, you didn’t know where to brake, what was going to happen in traffic and which hole to dive in going to the corner. It was quite tricky in the beginning but then everything sorted out quite well. There is also a lot of respect from the slower cars and the faster prototypes. We try to give each other plenty of space. I enjoyed these first couple of stints very much. Everything looks good for Corvette Racing so far. There’s still a long time to go though.”

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 31, 2016) – A 24-hour race came down to 0.034 seconds Sunday as Corvette Racing won the 54th Rolex 24 At Daytona when the team’s pair of Chevrolet Corvette C7.R race cars finished 1-2 in the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class.

Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner and Marcel Fässler drove the winning No. 4 Corvette C7.R with Gavin holding off teammate Antonio Garcia in the No. 3 Corvette C7.R. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Team Chevy and Corvette found themselves in the thick of battles for the lead in two classes halfway through the 54th Rolex 24 At Daytona. Corvette Daytona Prototypes held four of the top five overall positions early Sunday while Corvette Racing’s pair of Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs were locked in a race-long fight in search of second straight GT Le Mans (GTLM) victory at Daytona International Speedway.

Both Corvette C7.Rs took turns leading in GTLM in the opening 12 hours. Tommy Milner was in the last third of his second triple-stint of the race in the No. 4 Corvette that he is driving with Oliver Gavin and Marcel Fässler. It wasn’t great at first. I was struggling with top speed, plus I had a little too much understeer. We made an adjustment to the car, which made it a lot better. It was very well-behaved and fast. (Jan. 28, 2016) – Corvette Racing and Corvette Daytona Prototypes made it through a treacherous qualifying session unscathed at Daytona International Speedway ahead of this weekend’s Rolex 24 At Daytona. Rain pelted the track for most of the day with the worst of it falling during time trials.

Corvette Racing returns to Daytona as the defending GT Le Mans (GTLM) class winner, having finished first and third in class a year ago. CORVETTE DPs AT DAYTONA: Looking to Climb the High Banks and Rolex Podium
Four Corvette Daytona Prototypes being Prototype Championship defense

DETROIT (Jan. 26, 2016) – The biggest race for Chevrolet’s Corvette Daytona Prototype program also happens to be the first one of the season. Teams in the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) open their year with the Rolex 24 At Daytona at Daytona International Speedway, which has been a hotbed of success for the Corvette DP and Chevrolet as a whole.

Four Corvette Daytona Prototypes are entered for the 54th annual endurance classic, which marks the beginning of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Chevrolet arrives at Daytona as a four-time Prototype Engine Manufacturer champion – a perfect title record since Chevrolet added the iconic nameplate to the Prototype class in 2012.

“The Rolex 24 At Daytona is the biggest race of our season. We’ve seen over the years how difficult it is to win such a prestigious race,” said Jim Lutz, Chevrolet Program Manager for the Corvette DP. “It takes an all-out effort by the drivers, crew and engineers to have a chance at victory. Fortunately our Corvette Daytona Prototype teams have all three. We have been fortunate to win the Rolex 24 before and had two podium finishes last year. There would be no better way to start the 2016 season than with a victory and strong showing for our Corvette DPs. It would be another significant milestone in Chevrolet’s success at Daytona.”

Indeed. The Bowtie Brand has more than 40 victories to its credit at Daytona in the top levels of sports car and stock car racing. That makes Chevrolet the most successful manufacturer in the venue’s history.

The Corvette DP also has forged a remarkable history since its debut – first in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and the last two years in IMSA competition. Corvette DPs have won 30 times in 46 races for a 65.2 winning percentage.

Chevrolet last won the Rolex 24 in 2014 as the Corvette DP swept the overall podium. Action Express Racing won the event for the first time with current drivers Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi. Not only are they past Rolex 24 winners, but the pairing has shared the last two Prototype Driver’s title. They will drive this week with five-time Rolex 24 winner Scott Pruett and Filipe Albuquerque.

Action Express Racing will have two Corvette DPs in the Prototype category at Daytona. Full-season teammates Dane Cameron and Eric Curran will drive the No. 31 Whelen Engineering/Team Fox Corvette Daytona Prototype along with Simon Pagenaud and Jonny Adam. Cameron and Curran won twice in 2015 and finished third in Driver points.

Wayne Taylor Racing sees the same driving trio for the third consecutive year at the Rolex 24. Jordan Taylor, Ricky Taylor and Max Angelelli will drive the No. 10 Konica Minolta Corvette DP – two years after they were runners-up at the Rolex 24 with team owner Wayne Taylor. The Taylor brothers also were two-time winners in 2015.

Likewise, Visit Florida Racing recorded two victories last season and is back with its No. 90 Corvette Daytona Prototype. Following a second-place finish in Prototype team points in 2015, Ryan Dalziel and Marc Goossens will team for the full season in the Visit Florida entry; Ryan Hunter-Reay will partner them at Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans.

The Corvette DP bodywork reflects the Corvette C7 production lineup. At the heart of the Corvette Daytona Prototype is a purpose-built 5.5-liter Chevrolet LS9 V-8 engine developed by ECR Engines.

JOAO BARBOSA, ACTION EXPRESS RACING NO. 5 MUSTANG SAMPLING CORVETTE DP: “I’m looking forward to going back to Daytona for another Rolex 24. Action Express Racing has been working very hard, and I think we have a very strong Corvette DP for a 24-hour race. We have been very strong in long-distance races. We have some pressure to win this year – something we’d really like to do. We have a great shot. We’ve done our homework and we’re very well-prepared for this first race of the year. It would be great to start off on the right foot. Let’s see if we can land another win for Action Express.”

RICKY TAYLOR, WAYNE TAYLOR RACING NO. 10 KONICA MINOLTA CORVETTE DP: “The Daytona Prototype means a lot to our whole family. Firstly, it is the car that Jordan and I made our names driving in sports car racing. It was also the platform on which our family has made a living over the last 12 years, and the platform for my dad to be able to form his own racing team, which has been one of the highlights of his career. Apart from those highlights, the Corvette DP is just a great car to drive. It is very raw and has to be driven hard. The quality of the racing over the years was some of the most exciting racing over the years and definitely the most exciting racing I had ever been involved with.”

DANE CAMERON, ACTION EXPRESS RACING NO. 31 WHELEN ENGINEERING/TEAM FOX CORVETTE DP: “After the Roar I felt like our Whelen Chevrolet Corvette DP was in a great place. The race weekend goes so fast, and when you’re splitting seat time with four guys it becomes even more compressed. Fortunately we were all able to log a lot of miles during the Roar weekend. The communication has been great, and I think our driver lineup is one of the best in the field. All of the guys on the Whelen crew work hard and I know they’re going to give 100 percent for the full 24 hours.”

MARC GOOSSENS, VISIT FLORIDA RACING NO. 90 CORVETTE DP: “On paper we have a realistic chance at a win in the Rolex 24, but I’m not the guy that comes in for one race. I’m here for the season. I look at the bigger picture and obviously it would be nice to win Daytona but we’re here for a championship and not only that but we’re here to build for the future and see what 2017 brings. Rules are changing. We’re here and we’re hoping to win but at the same time we’re focused on the full season and looking in the future beyond that.”

DETROIT (Jan. 25, 2016) – One year ago, Corvette Racing started its run to endurance racing’s Triple Crown with a victory in the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Fast-forward to today, and the team again is preparing for what it hopes is another race into the record books.

The 54th Rolex 24 At Daytona marks the beginning of Corvette Racing’s 2016 sports car season with a pair of 2016-spec Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs. During the next 10 months, the team will race 12 times across three countries and two continents. The goals: win the biggest events in sports car racing including the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the ninth time and capture the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class championship of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

It all starts at Daytona International Speedway, where Corvette Racing is a two-time winner (2001 overall and 2015 in GTLM). A year ago, Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen were part of the victorious trio in the No. 3 Corvette C7.R. The winning Chevrolet-powered racecar completed 725 laps (it led 389 laps) for 2,581 miles and spent seven less minutes in the pits than the second-place finisher.

Garcia and Magnussen team this year with Mike Rockenfeller, who also is a former Rolex 24 race winner. In the No. 4 Corvette C7.R, Oliver Gavin – last year’s GTLM pole-winner – will partner with full-season teammate Tommy Milner and Marcel Fässler, who will make his first Rolex 24 start. Gavin and Milner were part of the GTE Pro-winning trio in 2015 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans; they also were third in class at the Rolex 24 last season.

All six drivers saw plenty of seat-time earlier this month during the three-day Roar Before the 24 test. Gavin was the second-fastest driver in GTLM with a best lap of 1:45.106 (121.934 mph); Garcia was fourth in class at 1:45.124 (121.913 mph).

Long-distance racing is the strength of Corvette Racing. In addition to its two victories at Daytona and eight at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the team has won the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring 10 times and the 1,000-mile/10-hour Petit Le Mans seven times.

The 2016-spec Corvette C7.R is an updated racecar due to changes in Automobile Club de l’Ouest regulations for top-level GT cars that compete in the IMSA GTLM class. There are a number of aerodynamic changes including a larger splitter at the front and diffuser at the rear of the Corvette. Side skirts and a repositioned wing also are among the most notable changes, along with updated safety features that are now mandated on all GTLM cars.

The powertrain on the Corvette C7.R is unchanged from 2015 with a 5.5-liter V-8 Chevrolet small block powering the race car. The Corvette C7.R will use E20 fuel during the IMSA season and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Rolex 24 was the site of Corvette Racing’s debut on Jan. 31, 1999. Since that first race, the team has competed in more than 170 events around the globe with 97 victories worldwide – including three wins in 2015 – along with 10 team and manufacturer championships in the American Le Mans Series and eight victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The 54th Rolex 24 At Daytona is the start of the 2016 IMSA season and is set for 2:10 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 30. It will air on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2 and FOX Sports Go. Live audio coverage from IMSA Radio is available on IMSA.com.

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “The end of last year’s race was very tense and very difficult. Having two cars so close together after 24 hours shows how tough it is in GTLM. The Corvette Racing team executed perfectly on every stop and made all the right strategy calls. That is what it takes to win these long races. No one does it better than Corvette Racing, as we have shown over the years. We are all ready for a repeat performance.”

JAN MAGNUSSEN, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “Winning the Rolex 24 last year was very special. The only thing I would change is to have been in the car at the end instead of watching! But it was a great feeling to see Antonio take the checker first in our class. Going into this race we know the challenge will be even more difficult. There are new cars throughout GTLM, and we know everyone will be watching our race. You have to stay focused and not let up at any point because the competition is so strong. Whoever wins this race will have earned it. I hope it is one of our Corvettes.”

MIKE ROCKENFELLER, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “This is a bit of a different Rolex 24 for me now that I am with Corvette Racing. Although we may not be in the fastest class, I am sure that GTLM will be the toughest and most competitive. We had a very good test at the Roar, and I feel more comfortable in the Corvette C7.R with each lap I do. Racing in an event like Daytona is a tough task but also one that as drivers we all look forward to and enjoy. Antonio, Jan and I are hopeful to deliver another Daytona win for Corvette Racing.”

OLIVER GAVIN, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “By and large the test at Daytona was a great success. It definitely makes things easier in the lead up to the Rolex 24. We should be able to arrive with an established baseline and can work on fine-tuning the little things that add up to give us the greatest chance for success in this race. Although it’s a 24-hour race like Le Mans, Daytona is very different in terms of lighting, how safety car periods work and other nuances. Still it’s a grueling test and one that Tommy, Marcel and myself would love to win.”

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “It’s the start of a new season for Corvette Racing at Daytona. Considering how well the Roar went for us overall in the No. 4 Corvette, we’re pretty confident that we can have a race car that can challenge for a victory. Oliver and I were able to try a lot of different settings and configurations during the test, and Marcel has gotten up to speed very quickly. We have the drivers, crew and engineers to be successful at this race. It’s up to us all to execute how I know we can.”

MARCEL FÄSSLER, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “I am ready for my first Rolex 24 At Daytona, and I couldn’t pick a better group to be with than Corvette Racing. It was a pleasure to drive the Corvette C7.R at the Roar and get a feel for the track and traffic conditions ahead of this race. Long-distance races are nothing new to any of us on the team. There are a lot of endurance victories in the Corvette Racing camp between the team and the drivers, so everyone has the proper mindset for what it takes to win this race. For myself, I need to continue to gain confidence and comfort in the car and not make mistakes. If that happens, I know we will have a shot at victory.”

DETROIT (Jan. 6, 2016) – Corvette Racing’s march to what it hopes is a second straight victory in the Rolex 24 At Daytona continues this week with the annual Roar Before the 24 – a three-day test at Daytona International Speedway. It is the final on-track session ahead of the opening of the 2016 International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) season.

Chevrolet Racing Wins 11 Championships in 2015
Titles in IndyCar, NASCAR, NHRA, IMSA and PWC

DETROIT – Chevrolet completed another successful year in motorsports in 2015, earning six manufacturer and five driver championships in NASCAR, IndyCar, NHRA, United SportsCar Championship and Pirelli World Challenge series.

In addition, Chevrolet drivers won several noteworthy races in 2015, including the Indianapolis 500, IndyCar Dual in Detroit, NHRA U.S. Nationals, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, and the manufacturer’s first overall victory in 50 years at the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Kevin Harvick Ends Season Strong for Chevrolet
Chevy SS Drivers Finish 2-3-4 in Year-End Point Standings

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (November 22, 2015) – Piloting the No. 4 Budweiser/Jimmy John’s Chevrolet SS, Kevin Harvick led the way for Team Chevy in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Harvick ended the last race of the year with a runner-up finish, and was second in the year-end NSCS point standings. In 2015, Harvick captured three wins, 23 top-five’s, and 27 top-10 finishes.

Chevrolet Clinches 17th Bill France Performance Cup
Award Recognizes Manufacturer Championship in NASCAR Xfinity Series

DETROIT (November 21, 2015) – With Kyle Larson’s win in the Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Chevrolet clinched the Bill France Performance Cup in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The 2015 achievement marks the 17th time the Bowtie Brand has captured this prestigious honor.

It is also the second time Camaro has earned the award in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The Chevrolet Camaro made its series debut at Daytona International Speedway in February of 2013 and has since made 30 trips to Victory Lane.

“Chevrolet is honored to win the 2015 Bill France Performance Cup in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the 17th time,” said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. Vice President of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “Every point matters during the season, but Kyle Larson’s win combined with the second-place finish by Austin Dillon in No. 33 Camaro were absolutely critical in clinching the championship. This award is the result of dedication and determination by all of our team owners, drivers and crews.”


En route to securing the Bill France Performance Cup, Chevrolet drivers have won 11 races this season in the Xfinity Series. This season marked a milestone for Chevrolet in Xfinity Series competition when Chase Elliott, piloting the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro, earned the brand’s 400th series victory at Richmond International Raceway in September.

In addition to Elliott, the following Team Chevy drivers contributed to this special award with victories: Austin Dillon (4 wins), Kevin Harvick (2 wins), Regan Smith (2 Wins), Kyle Larson (1 win), Paul Menard (1 win); along with manufacturer points-paying finishes by Ty Dillon, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Brian Scott.

The 2016 Xfinity Series season kicks off with the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway on February 20.

TELL US HOW PRACTICE WENT, YOU WERE FASTEST OF THE FOUR:
“The very first run that final practice was great. I felt really good about it. We’ve got a few things on the longer run that I felt like we can work on. The second run was so/so. The track definitely lost some grip. I think we have a good indication what the track conditions are going to be like in the race, so that is all really valuable information that we can put into our database and make adjustments and hopefully good decisions for tomorrow.”

HOW DO YOU UNWIND THIS EVENING?
“I am just looking forward to getting some good rest here at the track. I’m going to go to dinner with Ingrid (wife) and some friends.”

ON PRACTICE:
“It was good. The car has been pretty good the whole time. We just needed some time on the track and time to figure it out. We have gotten better every practice. The last practice was the best we have been. We still need to get better, but I think we are heading the right direction. That was really the first time we were able, since the first practice, we were able to make a sticker run, which is a big deal here. That helps also.”

WHAT ABOUT WEATHER?
“It’s going to be pretty volatile. I don’t really know what to do about it. We will have to play it by ear and see what happens. It’s going to be tough for everybody involved, all the competitors, the Chaser’s, NASCAR, we will just work through it. It’s South Florida, it could clear up and we could have no problem, but right now it looks like there will be some weather in the area.”

DO YOU HAVE A LOT OF WORK YOU HAVE TO DO THIS EVENING?
“Yeah, always going through everything we can go through. All of our last nut and bolt and preparation to make the car as perfect as we can get it. We will look through all the notes and debrief with our teammates and try to get ourselves in the best position possible.”

“No, not really. We haven’t made any gains on it. It’s been a frustrating day. We have been struggling with the car and we really haven’t hit on anything that helped it. So we are going to go in there and work on it right now and hopefully come up with something for tomorrow.”

“The car seems to have had pretty good speed. Definitely a lot better than what we were here last year. The guys did a good job. Kevin learned a lot running the top up against the wall. I feel like we got a lot of good information with those long runs. We will make a few adjustments for the race to try to keep the car tightened up and hopefully be good.”

IF THE TRACK IS GREEN STARTING TOMORROW’S RACE:
“You can’t really adjust just for the start. You just have to roll with it. The track will be tighter to start and then free up. It would tear the tires off and that kind of thing. We will just have to see what happens. Kevin will have to move his trackbar around and do the best he can in there.”

“Whew, it wasn’t easy. Man, that was a heck of an effort by this team. We’ve got a great race car. I just totally messed up. That first run, without making a qualifying run in practice, I just didn’t know how hard I could push it or how much the track had picked-up. And it cost me that first run because I felt like I drove in deep and got back on the gas early, but I didn’t push it near hard enough to make it through. I hate we had to put that extra lap on the tires. I really believe we might have had a shot at this thing. I don’t know if I could have run what Joey (Logano) ran there, or the No. 11 (Denny Hamlin), but man, a top 5, are you kidding me? That’s awesome. CHEVROLET CELEBRATES VETERAN BOWTIE BRAND DRIVER JEFF GORDON

DETROIT – (November 19, 2015) – Jeff Gordon, who has driven the No. 24 Chevrolet for 796 consecutive races from 1992-2015, is about to close out his full-time career as a driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Gordon, a four-time series champion, enters the final race of the season with an opportunity to claim his fifth title. Gordon ends his full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, having driven for only one car owner, Rick Hendrick at Hendrick Motorsports, and only one manufacturer, Chevrolet.
