JOSEF NEWGARDEN, NO. 21 FUZZY’S ULTRA PREMIUM VODKA ED CARPENTER RACING CHEVROLET, QUALIFIED 2ND: “We rolled out with one thing and I was pushing my guys to do something different. It’s a team decision, whether it’s their decision or mine, but I feel like I was pushing a little hard for something that wasn’t the right thing. But we were close, we just needed that little bit! I think where we rolled out with would have been enough. It’s my fault that we changed it. I’m disappointed about that; you always want the pole! We have a great chemistry and group with our people, but sometimes I mess up! Congrats to Mikael, great job by him! We didn’t have enough today but tomorrow is what counts.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR–Pocono–Driver Quotes →

CHARLIE KIMBALL, NO. 83 TRESIBA CHIP GANASSI RACING CHEVROLET, was involved in a single car on-track incident during practice at Pocono Raceway:

WHAT HAPPENED: “I turned in (Turn One) and the rear came out on cold tires. We made an adjustment to the car. The car rotated a couple of times and I caught it. Maybe three times, but then I didn’t catch it any more. But when I hit, my knee hit the back of the steering wheel and popped it off. It was an incident of the incident rather than anything else” Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR–Pocono–Charlie Kimball →

Austin Dillon and the Rheem Team Win in Overtime Finish
No. 2 Team Takes Control of Owner’s Points Lead with Win at Bristol Motor Speedway

“I feel like the fans had to have loved that race. It was interesting to have another lane down at the bottom of the track and it ended up being a race on those last two restarts. At the end of the race, I listened to the advice of my grandfather on what lane to choose to restart and I’m glad I did. It really worked out. The more and more I learn about these races it’s a battle of attrition and it’s about who can survive. I’m proud of Justin Alexander. This is his first win as a crew chief in the NASCAR XFINITY Series and this is our first win together in our first race together so it’s a great way to start.” Continue reading Richard Childress Racing–Bristol 300 →

The Traxxas Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car that Courtney powered to a 3.892 second pass was a brand new race car for the fifth year pro and was sporting a new paint scheme. At the end of the day Force was glad to get two runs but a little sorry she had to wait ten days to get back into her 10,000 hp Nitro Funny Car after her crash in Seattle. Catching up with Casey Currie: His Endless Summer of 2016
CORONA, California (August 10, 2016) – It has been a busy summer for Casey Currie. He has been all over the Western United States and Baja California, Mexico racing, jeeping and spending time with fans, friends and family. Per his usual schedule there has not been much down time for Casey, but he would have it no other way. Now after racing the Lucas Oil Short Course Series at Glen Helen and Estero Beach, and jeeping through Rubicon, down the Baja Peninsula on the Trail of Missions and around Moab with our nation’s veterans, Casey is mixing it up and headed to the east coast for three events: the BFGoodrich Tires 36 Hours of Uwharrie and TORC races in Charlotte, NC and Crandon, WI. Keeping the same crazy schedule, just changing up the locations. Continue reading Catching up with Casey Currie: His Endless Summer of 2016 →

This week, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams journeyed to the mountains of Tennessee for a midweek showdown at Bristol Motor Speedway on Wednesday evening. During two practices on the half-mile bullring on Wednesday morning, Brett Moffitt was 12th-fastest in the first and second-fastest in final practice in the No. 11 BrainGear/Surface Sunscreen Toyota Tundra, while Timothy Peters was second and 22nd fastest in the No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra. Wednesday afternoon, three rounds of knockout group qualifying set the field for the UNOH 200. Moffitt transferred to the third round to secure the eighth starting position, and Peters began the 200-lap event in 25th place. After the race was delayed for an hour by summer storms, Moffitt battled in the final laps for the win and finished a career-best second place, and Peters finished in the 13th position.
