NHRA® Team Report
NHRA Finals – Pomona, CA
Pre-Race Report
Cruz Pedregon and team are looking forward to the season wrap-up in Pomona, California as part of the Countdown and to an announcement scheduled prior to Friday’s qualifying rounds. “It will be great to share good news at a track in my home state and at the final race of the season…a race the team and I’ve won before,” Cruz says. “The season has been one of adjustments and re-adjustments, all leading up to good numbers, a spot in the Countdown and a career best run in Vegas two weeks ago.”
Crew Chief Aaron Brooks says, “Making the switch from Top Fuel to Funny Car has been challenging and rewarding in that we’ve restructured this team to allow Cruz to concentrate on driving, but he’s still key to the game plan we create for each race. We’ve taken all of our results and combined them into what I believe will be a winning strategy for the seasons ahead.”
“We’re feeling good as we wrap up 2017 and start preparations for 2018,” Cruz says. “We’ve got a great team, terrific car, and we’re really motivated to deliver some of the best racing NHRA fans and our sponsors have ever seen.”
On the side of Cruz’s car this week –
If you’ll check the side of Cruz’s car this week, you’ll see the name of Snap-on Nitro Franchisee Jeff Goorsky. Most days you’ll find Jeff in his Snap-on mobile store, but, in his free time, he’s been an off-road racer and navigator over the past eight years. He’s even competed in the Baja 1,000 and is building his own truck to compete regionally. This weekend, he’ll be here checking out drag racing with his girlfriend and some of his Snap-on customers.
