FORD & ROUSH YATES ENGINES POWERS TWO DAYTONA WINS!

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., July 5, 2016 – Brad Keselowski lights up Daytona Beach with his first Daytona win and marking Team Penske’s 100th overall NASCAR Sprint Cup win. As the exclusive engine builder of the NASCAR Ford FR9 V8 race engine, Roush Yates Engines in partnership with Ford Performance powered the No. 2 Ford Fusion to victory lane at the legendary Daytona International Speedway.

From the pole position, Greg Biffle, driver of the Roush Fenway Racing No. 16 led the field to start the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola race, followed by teammate Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the No. 17 and the No. 2 Brad Keselowski of Team Penske in fourth and fifth positions respectively. Biffle secured the pole with a time of 192.955 mph.
The Ford teams came out with a mission to win. All twelve Ford teams ran strong all night, leading a total of 123 laps out of the 161 recorded, and the majority by race winner No. 2 with a total of 115. The July 4th weekend race packed its own fireworks on a the 2.5 mile tri-oval track known for high speed where bump drafting and three wide racing pushes the limits of both car and driver. With 26 different lead changes, 13 different leaders and five cautions, the ‘Big One’ taking out as many as 19 cars and quickly changed the strategy of the race. LE MANS, France, JUNE 19, 2016 –History has been made! The No. 68 (Joey Hand (US), Dirk Müller (GER), and Sébastien Bourdais (FRA)) wins the 84th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Fifty years after Ford’s legendary 1966 victory, the twin-turbo Ford EcoBoost V6 race engine and Ford Chip Ganassi No. 68 car performed flawlessly during the 24 hour endurance race. Roush Yates Engines working in partnership with Ford Performance powered the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing team to a legendary victory (la victoire) at the iconic Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France.

September 22, 2015 – Roush Yates Engines powered FORD Performance to the GTS Manufacturers Championship and Phoenix American Motorsports to the GTS Team Championship in the Pirelli World Challenge series. Preston Calvert won the GTS Rookie of the Year honors in his FORD Mustang Boss 302, while FORD Performance drivers captured three of the top five positions in the GTS Driver Championships.

FORD captured the Manufacturers Championship by 19 points while attaining four wins on the season with Dean Martin (round 3), Spencer Pumpelly (round 4), Kurt Rezzetano (round 7), and Andrew Aquilante (round 10). FORD drivers earned an incredible 18 podium finishes along with 34 top five’s on the season. This included two podium sweeps in rounds 3 and 4 at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
