All-Stars of the NMRA and NMCA Converge on Atlanta Dragway
After another year of record-setting season opening events at Bradenton Motorsports Park, the NMRA and NMCA move to Commerce, Georgia’s Atlanta Dragway for the 9th Annual NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals presented by Steeda Autosports the weekend of April 6-9.
This second event of the season for both organizations combines the power of the Keystone Automotive All NMRA Ford Drag Racing Series with the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals presented by E3 Spark Plugs. This creates one of the largest heads-up races of the year – featuring the nation’s quickest and fastest doorslammers at the same venue.
With one race completed and the winter doldrums nothing but a distant memory, racers will be kicking into overdrive as the meat of the 2017 season begins to unfold. Last year’s race saw some of the wildest action of the season highlighted by some huge numbers up on the scoreboards from both NMRA and NMCA racers.
From the crazy power of VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mods, to the finesse needed to navigate the eighth-mile in the combined Street Outlaw eliminator, this race surely will be a can’t miss for the horsepower hungry!
Traction Means Action !
GA track upgrade 17
In 2016 Atlanta Dragway repaved the concrete in each lane and late this past winter new asphalt was laid down from the 660-foot mark all the way past the quarter-mile. These upgrades mean track prep will be easier, allowing cars to maximize power from start to finish, resulting in what is expected to be solid performance gains. For fans of doorslammer action, that translates into quicker elapsed times, as the track will deliver more bite than ever before for this race. Traction means action and it all gets cranking at Atlanta Dragway when qualifying begins Friday afternoon April 7th, and concludes with the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle celebrations, Sunday afternoon.
