Race Highlights:
Richard Childress Racing teammates Paul Menard and Austin Dillon finished second and sixth, respectively, in the Sprint Showdown at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Greg Biffle finished first in segment one of the Sprint Showdown, earning a transfer spot into Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star race, while Clint Bowyer finished first in the final segment, earning the second transfer spot. Danica Patrick earned the third transfer spot by virtue of a fan vote.
Ryan Newman will compete in the All-Star Race on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, which is scheduled to be televised live on FOX Sports 1 beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern Time and broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Satellite Radio, channel 90. COMMERCE, GA – The winningest Funny Car driver ever at Atlanta Dragway came out of the hauler ready to chase down his eighth Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals title. John Force finished the first day of qualifying as the provisional No. 2 Funny Car qualifier with a stout 4.031 second run. “I have great fans. I know I didn’t make it in last year, but I heard that they voted even more last year than the year before that and so I’m sure that this year was nothing different. I think I got close at the end and they came through. They always come through. I am lucky to have such great fans.

“I just really hope that we can learn enough tonight to make the car better tomorrow so that we can start throughout the segments because I think there are like five, right? Sometimes we might stay out. Maybe we’ll only take two (tires). Maybe only fuel. It would be cool to be able to have a car good enough to march our way forward and then ultimately see how good we can get it for the 600. But, thanks to Sprint, too, for giving this platform for a driver like myself who has great fans but didn’t win the race to get in. That’s my ultimate goal. We’re working toward it but these things all help. All the laps on track help.”

HOW GREAT WOULD IT BE TO WIN AFTER BEING VOTED-IN BY YOUR FANS?
“That would be the ultimate. There is nothing better than redeeming yourself for not racing your way in, by winning it. That would be the best-best case scenario. To be honest, even cooler to get voted in and then win. So, that would be great. I think it’s going to be tough. But, anything can happen; especially in this crazy format.”

I think you have to qualify pretty well, first and you want to try to start as close to the front as you can to get as many points throughout those rounds as possible. ATLANTA, GA (May 15, 2015) —- The Monster Energy Top Fuel dragster was unveiled today in the John Force Racing pit area. On a Wednesday national teleconference Monster Energy was announced as the primary sponsor for third year pro Brittany Force. The multi-year agreement will start this weekend at Atlanta Dragway.

“I am so excited to be sponsored my Monster Energy. I have to thank my team and everyone at John Force Racing for getting this bad ass looking Top Fuel dragster decaled and ready to race,” said Brittany Force, just before the tarp was lifted from her 10,000 horsepower Top Fuel Dragster.

ATLANTA, GA (May 14, 2015) — The last time John Force was in the final round of the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals he was racing for his 1,000th round win at his 500th race. It was 2008 and he was on the cusp of setting a record that no one would ever be able to touch. One more round win and he would be able to forever claim that for 500 straight races he averaged a semi-final finish.
