Austin Dillon and the AAA Team Leave The Monster Mile with 26th-Place Finish

“The Monster Mile certainly lived up to its name this weekend. We struggled from the time we unloaded to find speed in the AAA Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. During the first Stage we made a green flag pit stop for tires because we completely wore our right rear tire down to the cords. That put us a couple of laps down and set the stage for us to play catch-up for the remainder of the race. Unfortunately, the cautions didn’t fall in our favor so we weren’t able to get back on the lead lap. We know we need to roll our sleeves up and get to work finding a better package for Dover.”

Handling and Tire Issues Result in 35th-Place Finish for Ryan Newman and Cat Racing at Dover

“Our Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 didn’t respond the way we anticipated from the time we unloaded and throughout the course of the race weekend at Dover. It wasn’t for a lack of effort. Then to have two tire issues during the second stage really cost us a chance to right the ship. At that point we went to the garage, diagnosed the problem and turned our race into a test session.”

Matt Tifft and the No. 2 Nexteer Automotive Team Rally to Top-10 Finish At Dover International Speedway

“We fought hard today for our eighth-place finish. Our No. 2 Nexteer Automotive Chevrolet Camaro was fast right from the start of the weekend, and we qualified the best we have all year when we started third. Unfortunately, it just fired off way too loose on entry, and I spun in the opening laps of the race. I luckily didn’t hit anything and had no damage other than flat tires. Randall (Burnett, crew chief) and my team did a great job of timing the pit stops for tires right away while not losing a lap under the yellow. That was huge for us and allowed us to fight back up through the field. Our strategy from there played out well, and we were able to stay in the top 15 for the rest of the day before climbing up to finish eighth. Thankful for the effort my team gave today, and happy we were able to overcome some adversity early to still have a great finish.”

Promising Day Ends Early for Austin Dillon and the Dow Scooper Cat Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Team at Talladega Superspeedway

“We thought strategically and worked hard throughout the race to put ourselves in a position to contend at the end in the Dow Scooper Cat Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Then, with less than 30 laps to go, I saw cars wrecking in front of me. I was able to get my car slowed down without making contact with any other vehicles, but then I went to cut through the grass because everybody was wrecking on the track. When I hit the grass it just tore the oil cooler off of our car. It’s disappointing because we really wouldn’t have had any damage if I had kind of rolled through the grass. It’s part of superspeedway racing and I hate it. We were on the good side of it at Daytona, bad side here. Our plan is to go back to Daytona in July and take advantage of the momentum we left there with back in February.”
-Austin Dillon

Ryan Newman Drives the Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to Top-10 Finish at Talladega Superspeedway

“I’m just happy for myself and the entire Caterpillar team to have been in front of the ‘Big One’ for a change. The start of our weekend saw us caught up in a practice wreck. It is what it is at a place like this. So many things happen here that are out of our control but we kept our primary engine and raced the back-up. Stage 1 did not go as planned for us but we managed to get back out front by Stage 2 to run in the top 10. My plan was to go when we could, but be smart about it and fortunately for us, we had luck on our side. We’ve been running well but haven’t had much to show for it as of late so I’m happy that this Cat Racing team can leave here with a ninth-place finish.”

Matt Tifft and the KC Motorgroup Team Show Resilience at Talladega Superspeedway Despite Cut Tire

“We can’t seem to catch a break at these restrictor-plate tracks. We had a strong No. 2 KC Motorgroup Chevrolet all weekend. My crew chief, Randall Burnett, and my team focused on race trim for this weekend, knowing we needed a bit more of that at our last plate race. I had no issues during the race, and we were able to run in the top 10 pretty much all day. It’ unfortunate that our result didn’t match it. I had a vibration with less than 30 laps to go, but we thought we could manage it to the end. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case this time and the tire blew with just a handful of laps remaining. I’m bummed we couldn’t take home the Xfinity Dash 4 Cash bonus, but we did earn some stage points in the first two stages. We’ll regroup and get after it at Dover next weekend.”

WELCOME, N.C. (April 26, 2018) – Coca-Cola, one of the world’s iconic brands, will be featured as primary sponsor on the No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at Charlotte Motor Speedway during the 2018 Coca-Cola 600. Coca-Cola’s longtime partnership with Richard Childress Racing (RCR) will continue its deep-rooted history over Memorial Day Weekend with defending race winner Austin Dillon carrying the Coca-Cola colors. Dillon recorded his first-career Cup Series victory last May at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the Coca-Cola 600, one of NASCAR’s crown jewel races.

The red and white patriotic paint scheme was unveiled today at Fort Bragg military installation in front of U.S. servicemen and women prior to a lunch with several gold-star families. Richard Childress Racing–Richmond 400

Austin Dillon and the AAA Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Team Earn Top-15 Finish Following Strong Performance at Richmond Raceway

“Richmond Raceway has always been what I consider the hardest track on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series circuit, so I was really proud of our efforts in Stage 1. Our AAA Camaro ZL1 was really good. We were the fastest car on the track for most of the run and were able to race our way from 23rd to eighth and earn a few stage points. Once the race transitioned to night we lost some of the magic. We just weren’t as strong. I put us in a bit of a hole by earning a commitment line violation coming to pit road, but we worked hard and had a good shot at the end. It was just hard to find a line that made moves.”

Daniel Hemric Finishes 32nd in Cup Series Debut in Smokey Mountain Herbal Snuff Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

“First off, I have to thank Richard Childress and Smokey Mountain Herbal Snuff for giving me the opportunity to make my first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start this weekend. This is something that was 22 years in the making and truly a dream come true. The No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 fired off so tight during that first stage that I really struggled and we fell multiple laps down with no cautions to help us. My crew chief, Brandon Thomas, made a really good adjustment on that first stop. That gave us a fighting chance. We kept adjusting on it and it kept getting better. I wish we could go back and run that first stage over again, but we learned a lot and these guys never gave up. Everyone on this crew volunteered to build this car and come here this week and that means a lot. I just wish we could have had a better result tonight.”
-Daniel Hemric
Late-Race Mishap Costs Ryan Newman and the No. 31 Childress Vineyards Chevrolet ZL1 Team Top-10 Finish

“Richmond Raceway is one of my favorite tracks and to run just outside the top five, get assessed a pit-road penalty and then battle back onto the lead lap says a lot about this No. 31 Childress Vineyards Camaro ZL1 team. It’s unfortunate on the restart with 30 to go that we got into the back of a car. Everyone started checking up and I just hit him square in the back. I did all I could but the damage cost us our race. I’m just so disappointed right now. We had a good car and a finish that doesn’t reflect it.”

Matt Tifft Earns First Top-Five Finish of Season, Qualifies for
Xfinity Dash 4 Cash

“It feels great to put together a weekend from start to finish like this and finally get the result we deserve to go along with it. Our No. 2 National Brain Tumor Society Chevrolet Camaro was fast all day long. I felt like we managed the changing track conditions really well, whether we were practicing at 8 a.m. or racing at 7 p.m. Everyone was on it this weekend from the road crew to the pit crew. We were consistent the whole time and made the most of every opportunity, which lead to our first top-five finish of the year. That’s huge for us. To qualify for Xfinity’s Dash 4 Cash next weekend at Talladega Superspeedway on top of that is an honor. It’s my first time qualifying for that, so I’m excited to be in it. We’ll be looking to win the $100,000 and make the cut for the final weekend of the program at Dover, one of my favorite tracks on the circuit.”

Austin Dillon and the No. 3 Realtree Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Team Show Speed at Bristol Motor Speedway

“I know we were better than a 15th-place finish, but the scoreboard doesn’t show it today. We stayed out to try and save an extra set of tires and it ended up being a long run, so we corded our left front tire and went a lap down. You just can never predict when a long run will happen at Bristol Motor Speedway. There were not enough laps after that to earn our lap back. It’s a shame because the No. 3 Realtree Camaro ZL1 was fast today. We ran a lot of the race in the top-five and posted some of the fastest times during the race. We were fast on restarts, and I’m proud of that. I hope all fans enjoyed seeing the new Realtree fishing pattern on the track.”

On-Track Incident Ends Matt Tifft’s Day Early at Bristol Motor Speedway

“We had a strong run going in our No. 2 Tunity Chevrolet Camaro, running in the top 10 during Stage 1 before the No. 7 car spun us out. I’m not sure what he was thinking to be that aggressive so early on. He could have showed a little more patience but ruined our day instead. I was really hoping to get my first top-10 finish at Bristol this weekend. We had a good No. 2 Tunity Chevrolet Camaro that Randall (Burnett, crew chief) and the team had worked hard on. I hate to see our day end like this, but that’s the nature of this place.”

Long Day for Austin Dillon and the No. 3 SYMBICORT® (budesonide/formoterol fumarate dihydrate) Chevrolet Team ends in 27th-Place Finish at Texas Motor Speedway

“What a day! We ended up with damage after we were involved in a wreck at the very beginning of the race, but that didn’t slow down the No. 3 team. We worked hard to stay competitive, and I really thought we would end up okay. With about 100 laps to go the cockpit filled with smoke. We ended up in the garage to change a hub. Still, there is so much heart in this team. We made it back out to finish the race. I want to thank our new partner, AstraZeneca, and their SYMBICORT® (budesonide/formoterol fumarate dihydrate) brand, for hanging with us today. It’ a long season and we’ll be back at it next week.”

Ryan Newman and No. 31 Grainger Camaro ZL1 Team
Finish 27th at Texas Motor Speedway

“This Grainger Camaro ZL1 had good speed this weekend. We stayed consistently in or around the top-12 for most of the race, but tried to stretch our last run there and ended up blowing a tire and hitting the wall. I thought I probably could have left Texas with a top-10 finish if not for the blown tire, but things like that happen. It’s a gamble that didn’t pay off. I think the racing at Texas is exciting, and definitely fast, but we’re still getting adjusted to the new surface. We’ll be ready for when we come back in the fall, hopefully in the playoffs.”

Austin Dillon Drives Ruud Chevrolet to Fourth-Place Finish at Texas Motor Speedway

“I stayed out of trouble on the track which was one big key today. Track position was everything, really. The No. 20 was probably the fastest car. We were a little bit loose. We had to work on the Ruud Chevrolet throughout the race to try and get it closer to where we wanted to be. Today was just a tough race. I’m proud of everyone on the No. 2 Ruud team for sticking with it to bring home a fourth-place finish.”

Austin Dillon and the Dow WeatherTech Team Close Out 2017 Season with Strong, 11th-Place Finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway

“The Dow WeatherTech Chevrolet was pretty good today, so I’m glad we could put a period on the 2017 season with a solid finish. I didn’t have enough grip to run the high line during the race, which is normally the preferred line at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but I felt pretty good running lower on the track. During that last run, we were just too loose to make anything happen. Still, we were able to clinch 11th in the final driver’s point standings, which is pretty cool. I’m proud of everyone on this program and appreciate all of the hard work this year. We’re a bunch of racers and we’ll be back even stronger next season.”

Ben Kennedy Closes out 2017 NASCAR XFINITY Series with 18th- Place Finish in Rheem Chevrolet after Top-10 Run

“We has a really fast Rheem Chevrolet today. We started 25th and I felt like our car was better than most of the cars I was running with but I stayed patient so as not to wear out our equipment. At the end of Stage 2, we had an awesome pit stop that helped us restart in the top-10. We couldn’t really run with those guys at the bottom but at the top of the track we were better than anyone. At the end of the race I tagged the wall like I had been tagging it all day and it finally cut a tire. We had to pit with two laps to go for right-side tires. We were running ninth at the time and the fastest car on the track so I hated to see that happen. It was a pleasure racing with RCR this season and I am thankful for the opportunity.”

Austin Dillon Drives No. 3 Realtree Chevrolet to 14th-Place Finish at Phoenix Raceway

“We had a really fast Realtree Chevrolet today. We struggled with a tight-handling condition on the front end, but Justin Alexander and everyone on the team did a good job making adjustments. We made an unscheduled pit-stop for a flat left-rear tire during a caution and ended up losing a little bit of track position. Later in the race, we ended up with a little bit of damage during a late-race restart that got pretty crazy and I think it hurt us a little bit. We ended up finishing 14th. Still, a pretty good day at Phoenix Raceway.”

Austin Dillon Closes Out His 2017 NASCAR XFINITY Series Season with Top-10 Finish in the Ruud Chevolet
“I️ was a little bit worried to start the race after qualifying the Ruud Chevrolet 16th and racing in 14th during Stage 1, but Nick Harrison made an air pressure adjustment that really helped and the pit crew gained us a bunch of spots on pit road. I️ thought we were going to be okay for a while there, especially when we were racing in second. The handling of the Ruud Chevy started to get tight again in the final stage and we lost track position. I️ felt like the right front was just gone. We have some work to do on the XFINITY program at RCR, but I️ know we will get there. I️ am proud of my teammate, Daniel Hemric, for making it to the Final Four. That will be fun to watch him go for the champsionship at Homestead. Also, congrats to Chevrolet for winning the Manufacturer’s title. They clinched that up today, which is pretty awesome so congrats to everyone at Team Chevy on that accomplishment.”
