Dominic Scelzi Qualifies for Both World Finals Main Events
Inside Line Promotions – CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 6, 2018) – Dominic Scelzi made both main events last weekend during his first visit to the World of Outlaws World Finals since his debut in 2015.
Scelzi, who was driving for Bernie Stuebgen, was one of more than 50 drivers to invade The Dirt Track at Charlotte for the marquee World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series event. The action began on Thursday when Scelzi qualified 12th quickest in his group for Friday’s event and ninth quickest for Saturday’s show.
Friday began with a seventh-place run in a heat race. Scelzi followed that by moving forward from sixth to fourth place in the Last Chance Showdown to garner a transfer into the back of the main event, which was held on Saturday afternoon because of curfew on Friday night. Scelzi and car owner Bernie Stuebgen kicked off the weekend at the half-mile oval in Terre Haute, Ind., by qualifying third quickest out of 32 drivers on Saturday. Scelzi then won a heat race to advance into the dash.
