KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 4 BUDWEISER/JIMMY JOHN’S CHEVROLET SS – WINNER
WHERE DOES THIS WIN STACK UP WITH ALL THE BIG ONES?
“I think all these guys thrive in these moments and do such a great job week in and week out. It almost just felt not right where we were after the first two weeks and to come in here with the attitude really that we have every week and just be that more detailed and that more on top of everything that we are doing is something that is special. Really proud, it’s not me, I get to ride this thing and hopefully not screw it up. Those guys over there and back at Stewart-Haas Racing are the ones who make all this go around.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Dover–Post Race

KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 4 BUDWEISER/JIMMY JOHN’S CHEVROLET SS – Race Winner:
WHAT SORT OF STATEMENT DID THE NO. 4 TEAM MAKE THIS AFTERNOON?
“I’m just so proud of everybody from Stewart-Haas Racing to do everything that we’ve done the last three weeks, really. Obviously, we weren’t in a great position coming it to today. That’s what these guys are made of and that’s what teamwork is all about. I’ve just got to thank everybody from Budweiser, and Jimmy John’s and Chevrolet; it’s the 750th win for them, and everybody who helps us on this car. This is what it’s all about, those big time moments.”

YOU CAN HEAR THE EMOTION IN YOUR VOICE. HOW EMOTIONAL WAS IT FOR YOU BEHIND THE WHEEL IN THOSE LAST FEW LAPS?
“Well, it’s just one of those weekends where the car was really good and they believed. Everybody wins. That’s why there are so great.”

IS THIS TEAM BETTER UNDER PRESSURE?
“I think we’re better than we were last year just because of the experiences and things that we’ve had. I think when we look at everything that’s gone on over the last couple of years, it’s just been a lot of fun. So, it’s just that never quit attitude. That’s what Tony Stewart said when we went to Homestead last year. He said, ‘Whatever you do, do not quit until they throw that checkered flag’”.

THE PAYOFF IS A LOT SWEETER WHEN YOU SURVIVE IT. HAVING SURVIVED THIS, IS YOUR TEAM A LITTLE STRONGER?
“Oh yeah. Anytime you can go through moments like this and gain some momentum and prove to yourself that you can do things like this, there’s no way you can’t be stronger. I’m just do proud of those guys and so proud of our fans and everybody for all their support all week. There it is, stay the course. That’s what he (Tony Stewart) always says. Tony is just one of those guys who always puts everybody before him and that’s really what makes Stewart-Haas what it is. It’s just a lot of fun to be a part of this team.”

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “My approach wasn’t quite like surviving; I was going. The car worked really good. All that I couldn’t do in qualifying yesterday I was able to do today. I had good rhythm, and everything seemed to be very good. I took every opportunity I had to pass the 25 BMW, the 62 BMW, and then closed up on Oliver (Gavin) in the 4 Corvette and the 24 BMW. Halfway through that stint, I felt something funny on the rear of the car, and I asked the team if there was something wrong with the pressures. We found out that the nut was loose and we lost track position. Thankfully it didn’t come all the way loose. I went all the way to the back again but was on the move again under green. That’s how good the car was. I was able to catch back up before the alternator belt had to be replaced. It’s good that it happened one-and-a-half hours; it wasn’t so good under green but it was a great job and a really impressive full-service stop by the Corvette Racing team. We barely lost any positions. I don’t know if we have anything for the Porsche but we are competitive with everyone else.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–IMSA – TUDOR UNITED SPORTSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP

YOU WON THIS RACE LAST YEAR TO CLINCH YOUR SPOT IN THE NEXT ROUND OF THE CHASE WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR A REPEAT PERFORMANCE?
“I have always enjoyed Dover, especially with these presentations that just occurred it does remind me of how much Dover and the state of Delaware has meant for me personally and for our team. Coming here to Wilmington every single year visiting with all the employees at DuPont that was our sponsor for so many years and even Axalta now it’s really the same company just a different name. It’s always special coming here and then when I see the success that we had here. You always want to have success in your sponsors home and backyard and we did that from the beginning. It always made coming here that much more special. Last year was really memorable to win this race. My family was here, I had friends that were here and it was a great day. We didn’t have to win that race in order to move on, we just needed to have a solid day and I feel like we are in a very similar position this weekend. But, we would love to come out of here with a win. I think it just does a lot momentum wise, confidence wise, for the next round and for trying to win this championship.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Dover–Jeff Gordon

It was announced today that Clint Bowyer will drive a Chevrolet SS for HScott Motorsports in 2016.

Transcript Below:

HARRY SCOTT, JR.: “It’s my pleasure this afternoon to announce that Clint Bowyer will be driving for HScott Motorsports in 2016. Clint is a 10 year veteran that brings leadership, experience and winning ways to our organization. Clint’s personality and enthusiasm for racing is going to be something we are going to welcome to our organization. Although he will be with us only for one year we plan to make the most out of it on and off the track. Our goal next year will be to win races, to make the Chase and contend for a championship. I’m equally excited to announce that 5-Hour Energy, his long-term sponsor, will return for his tenure with us as his primary sponsor in 2016. Clint and 5-Hour Energy have formed a very special relationship and partnership over the past four years and Clint and 5-Hour Energy have become synonymous in the garage and among millions of race fans. When I started this team two years ago, I did so with the goal of organically building an organization that would one day content for championships in the Sprint Cup Series. Now, with Clint as our driver, sponsorship with 5-Hour Energy, our relationship with Chevrolet, with Mr. Hendrick and his organization and with Stewart-Haas Racing I feel that we have all the ingredients necessary to achieve that goal. It’s a very big day for our organization.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Clint Bowyer 2016 Plans

“Yeah, it was really weird. I went into Turn 3 and got on the brakes and the car traveled and slowed down. It felt like something broke in the left-front, but they said there was a lugnut inside the wheel. I guess when I hit the brakes to slow down a lugnut hit the valve stem and took the tire out. Fortunately some cautions fell in quick order to let us get back on the lead lap. We had a solid car and got up there to ninth or something and some guys ran out of fuel and got us to sixth.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–New Hampshire–Post Race

YOU KNOW YOU NEED A WIN. HOW DO YOU GET TO VICTORY LANE ON SUNDAY?
“Well, we all need wins. I think obviously the situation that we’re in with our Ditech/Budweiser/Jimmy John’s team is that a win would make it a lot easier and less nerve-wracking, but everybody has done a great job and I feel like I left it down in (Turns) 1 and 2 down there and just probably not aggressive. It’s a fine line of being really aggressive and going for it and not getting enough. So, the lesser of two evils is usually not getting enough and I just didn’t get enough down there.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–New Hampshire–Qualifying
