LAKEVILLE, Conn. (July 23, 2016) –Already sporting an unmatched collection of historic moments, Corvette Racing added another today by claiming its 100th race victory by winning Saturday’s Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park. Drivers Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner piloted their No. 4 Mobil 1/Sirius XM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R to the landmark triumph.

It is the third win of 2016 for Corvette Racing, which opened the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) season with back-to-back GT Le Mans (GTLM) victories in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. INDIANAPOLIS (July 23, 2016) – Indiana native Tony Stewart led a contingent of Chevrolet SS drivers in qualifying for the 23rd running of the The Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at the Brickyard. Stewart will start the third with a lap of 48.826-seconds/184.328 mph behind the wheel of the No. 14 Mobil 1/Chevy Summer Sell Down Chevrolet SS fielded by Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR)

“No, I mean yes and no. When you get to drive a race car like this it certainly just helps you focus on what you need to do out there. Being out of the car that long and not really having a lot of experience with this package it was a tall task, I will be honest. It was one of the most challenging days I’ve had in a race car to try to get comfortable, be consistent, have the speed and give good feedback. I mean I still love this track and I’m glad that we are doing this this weekend because I think that helps me have the confidence to be able to learn faster, but it’s tough. It was tough. I dreamed of racing here as a kid, but my dreams then, the cars didn’t have fenders on them. So, to come back and still have a chance to race here, and still have an opportunity to win four of these things, hopefully a few more chances to pull into Victory Lane and celebrate. Then even head out to kiss the bricks would be really cool. I guess from a race standpoint, I’m glad that we are here with this package and not the package we had last year. Very difficult to complete passes and kind of get around the race track. It was a much different experience last year, and I was a part of the test last week. It was nice to have the cars drive like they did from the ’14 season.”
