LE MANS, France (June 15, 2017) – Corvette Racing declared itself ready for its 18th attempt at the 24 Hours following Thursday’s final two qualifying sessions with both Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs within 1.2 seconds of the fastest time in the GTE Pro category.

Antonio Garcia put the No. 63 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R on the second row in the class, and Tommy Milner’s best lap in the No. 64 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Corvette assured that both cars will be in the thick of the fight in this weekend’s twice-around-the-clock endurance classic. Q: WHAT IS IT ABOUT THIS PLACE THAT SUITS YOU?

GREG ANDERSON: Everything. It’s the perfect racetrack and the perfect fans; they love Pro Stock here and we love them back.

Q: THEY CROWD MIGHT HAVE BEEN LEANING TOWARD VINCENT (NOBILE) IN THE OTHER LANE IN THE FINAL.

GREG ANDERSON: As well they should. Hometown boy and they have to be proud of him. He is a heck of a drag racer. He got me on the starting line but my crew did the job. Vincent beat me, but my crew beat that crew. I got the checkered flag and Vincent will have to wait till next year.

Q: THIS WAS A LITTLE BIT OF A SURVIVAL RACE FOR PRO STOCK WITH THE TRACK CONDITIONS TODAY (130 degrees Fahrenheit track, 90 degrees ambient).

GREG ANDERSON: It was a struggle out there today. When it gets this hot and the starting line gets greasy for these Pro Stock cars, we leave the starting line with such energy that it’s hard to get them hooked up. “Obviously just having a good balance in all three corners. Probably one of the biggest keys is no matter how good you get through those corners, you have to have the power to pull it down the straightaway. And it seems like at some point some pit strategy and some fuel savings and a little bit of luck has to come your way; but nevertheless, I’ve always enjoyed this race track. I enjoy the area; especially now with Kalahari being built just up the street. TALK ABOUT THE EMOTIONS OF WINNING THE RAIN-PLAGUED RACE AT POCONO LAST YEAR
“Yeah, we needed a jon boat to get back to the hauler afterwards. The garage was about a foot deep (with water). Luckily, I guess the rain all fell in between being in the Media Center and getting done. It was a pretty awesome deal getting that win and having everything play out the way it did. It was a big moment for us. It got us heading toward the Chase for last season and got us into the All-Star race this year to be able to participate there. So, a lot of great things came from it. Everybody keeps asking me how excited I am to get back to Pocono and the probably is it’s not one of the places where we’re as fast as some others, but it is a unique race track. I do love coming here. It’s tough. And it’s hard trying to find just a little bit of speed. The straightaways are so long that one little mistake leads to three or four-tenths at the end of the straightaway. Sol we’ve got tot work hard to be consistent and get the balance rolling good. “I guess to start the weekend we had a pretty good GEICO Chevy unloading. We kind of kept working on it and chipping away at it getting it to where we thought, just mainly focusing on where I could drive the car hard through the race. We didn’t qualify all that well. Qualifying has probably been our toughest challenge all year just making sure we get good track position. We start anywhere from 20th to 28th every week.
