But despite running as high as second place in the final 50 laps and as high as third with 15 laps to run, Blaney was swept up in a late-race caution and fell to 25th place at the finish. Continue reading Late-Race Incident Drops Blaney To 25th At Michigan

KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 CARS 3 TARGET CHEVROLET SS – RACE WINNER
WAS THE RESTART THE WINNING MOVE WHEN YOU DROVE PAST KYLE BUSCH TO GET LANE CHOICE AT THE END?
“Yeah, Ryan Blaney gave me a heck of a push. So, I’ve really got to thank him a ton. I knew the Penske cars took off good, so I was happy to see him behind me. For us to withstand a few restarts there with some tough competitors there was pretty important. I can’t thank these guys enough. The Cars 3 Chevy was really, really fast. And it was cool to win it. What a great Father’s Day present for myself and all the other fathers out there. My dad is here today, too. So, I’m looking forward to celebrating with him. We’ve been so close to so many other wins. This is our second Cup win of the year, but we’ve had six second place finishes. All-in-all, it’s a good season so far and we’ll continue to keep building on what we’ve got.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Michigan–Kyle Larson Winner

“We made some good adjustments there for that final round. I was pretty good in the first round and a little bit tight in the second round. They went a step further on freeing it up for the final round and the Cars 3 Chevy drove good. I could tell by the rpm and the engine it was going to be a pretty good lap so I was happy about that to get the pole after winning here last year. So, hopefully we can keep it going. So far, it’s been a really good weekend leading in practice and then getting the quick time here. So, yeah; it’s an exciting weekend and hopefully we can keep it going.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Michigan–Qualifying Notes

HOW IMPORTANT IS PIT SELECTION HERE AT MICHIGAN?
“Well, it’s definitely not as important as it is at like a Martinsville or other short tracks. But, pit selection is always important. So anytime you can get down there at the end of pit road in the number one stall, it helps. I’m excited about that. I’m not the best at qualifying in my career, but this year it’s been pretty good. We’ve been having better pit stalls and races from that.”
