JOHN FORCE MAKES BEST OF SHORT DAY IN JOLIET
JOLIET, IL – When John Force rolled through the water box in the first round of the 18th annual Lucas Oil Rt. 66 NHRA Nationals he knew that he was racing for not just for all the Peak Anti-Freeze Chevrolet Camaro customers in attendance but also to help out his teammate and daughter Courtney Force. Force was racing Alexis DeJoria who was essentially tied with Courtney Force in the Mello Yello point standings. The 16-time champion was able to get the round win and advance to the second round at Route 66 Raceway.
“We were protecting Courtney in the points. I gave away lane choice because I rolled in deep. I did that so if it was neck and neck I would have a shot. That was the same thing I did to Cruz (Pedregon). I thought I beat him in the second round. I accomplished what I wanted in the first round by trying to protect Courtney’s position in the points because we are a team. We will go on from here,” said Force, who is No. 5 in the Mello Yello point standings. Continue reading John Force Racing–JOHN FORCE MAKES BEST OF SHORT DAY IN JOLIET →

SATURDAY, JULY 11, 2015

THE MODERATOR: Juan, what are your thoughts heading into the final stretch of races?
JUAN PABLO MONTOYA: To be honest with you, nothing at the moment. I think there’s too many races to go. You know, the point lead can vanish in one week. You have one bad race, all the work for the year goes out of the window.
The only thing I really thought more is, I’ve got to be thankful for the season I had so far. I’ve had two wins, won the Indy 500. I’ve led the points all year. If I can close the year, I think it would be great. Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR–Milwaukee–Helio Castroneves and Juan Pablo Montoya →

Joliet, IL – The Monster Energy Top Fuel dragster came to life under the lights tonight at Route 66 Raceway blasting to the provisional No. 2 qualifying spot. Brittany Force, the 2013 rookie of the year, had her hands full on the top end and was pleasantly surprised by the quick outcome which was quickest of the session until the last pair of Top Fuel dragsters went down the track.
“I am very happy and very proud of this Monster Energy Top Fuel team. (Crew chiefs) Todd Smith and Ronnie Thompson told me before the run they were going to push it. We got a good number and we were worried about weather conditions tomorrow,” said Brittany Force, the runner-up at last year’s event. “They were like let’s just get it down there and get into the show. When they came on the radio and told me we ran a 3.74 I was shocked. It was moving around on me at the top end so I wasn’t sure what our ET would be. I am really happy to be No. 2 going into Saturday.” Continue reading John Force Racing–BRITTANY FORCE TOPS FOR JFR ON FRIDAY IN JOLIET →

JEFF GORDON, NO. 24 AARP MEMBER ADVANTAGES CHEVROLET SS, met with members of the media at Kentucky Speedway and discussed his desire to win at Kentucky Speedway, the new rules package, his outlook for the race this weekend and many other topics. Full Transcript:

TALK ABOUT HOW YOUR CAR IS SO FAR. HOW HAVE THE PRACTICES GONE AND HOW THE NO. 24 CHEVROLET IS OPERATING:
“It was good to get out there and get some laps. I think we all recognize how important it was to do that before the race tomorrow because of this new package and the things we are trying and the unknowns. This is a tricky racetrack. Certainly that is no secret. It is a very challenging racetrack. You take 1000 pounds of downforce off the cars, as well as the reduction in horsepower that we have had all year, but have not run here yet. We need track time. I was glad we were able to get on there today. We would have liked to have had it with the data acquisition on the cars like we planned on having on Wednesday, but we will take whatever we can get.
