I think the team executed a perfect race, we were leading at one stage and we managed to fight back through a strategy disadvantage twice with the VSCs, so I think to come away with second; everyone is really happy.” No. 38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, Sebastian Bourdais: “We knew it was going to be a tough day and there was a bit of a yo-yo-ing effect in the scenario of the race. It looked like it was pretty good and under control until the first VSC and safety car, then at that point a podium looked tricky. To fight back to P2 out of that is a really good result for the whole team. I’m really happy for the whole team at Cadillac, we keep chipping away and aim to get more points for the championship in the final few races of the season.” No. 12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, Will Stevens: “Overall, it was a tough race. Trying to make a recovery from where we started was always going to be difficult, so we had to go for a different strategy early on. We were making good headway and then the timing of the virtual safety car wasn’t ideal for us at all. It meant in the last few stints we had to be pretty aggressive to try and get through traffic. We did that nicely, finishing the race P7 but we had a five-second penalty. It’s a solid week for the team, congratulations to the No.38, it’s great to see them get a podium. Back-to-back races with podiums for the team so it shows we were making great progress.” No. 12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, Norman Nato: “It’s been quite a mixed weekend; qualifying was challenging, but the race was quite good for us. From where we started we managed to make some positions back, we had strong pace and we made some good overtaking moves. Starting from near the back is never easy, so finishing in the points is a big positive for the manufacturer championship. Congratulations to the sister car finishing in P2. It’s a really great race for them, really well deserved because they’ve been fast all weekend. Thanks to the whole team for all the hard work. Cadillac this year is strong and we have a good package, as the No.38 showed in the race. The way the safety car played out wasn’t truly in our favour but it was a long race and we knew we had time to try and recover positions lost. Kudos to the team for executing it well. September 6th, 2026 – Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA recorded their best finish of the FIA World Endurance Championship season with a second place at the Lone Star Le Mans for the No.38. The No.12 took P9, picking up more valuable championship points. Lining up on the grid in P2, the No.38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R crew of Jack Aitken, Sébastien Bourdais and Earl Bamber had a strong race, fighting at the front and being in contention for a podium throughout the six-hour. Some bad luck with safety car periods dropped the car down the field, but a strong final stint brought them back into contention, taking the chequered flag in third place. This was promoted to second when the No. 35 Alpine was handed a five-second penalty for an unsafe release. The No.12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R recovered from a tricky qualifying, having lined up for the race in P15. Going with an alternate strategy to be out of sync with their pit stops to the front runners, the No.12 fought through the pack and crossed the finish line seventh in class. The team received a five-second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage in the final hour of the race, but Stevens’ final stint in the car gave them enough of a buffer to their competitors that they stayed in the top ten, classifying P9.
