Inside Line Promotions – BURLINGTON, Wash. (Sept. 8, 2026) – Dominic Scelzi is appreciative for the experience to drive for CJB Motorsports the last three weeks throughout a West Coast Swing for Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing.
“It was a fantastic experience,” he said. “I had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Those guys were amazing to work with. It seemed like it took us too long to get on the right page. We kept having moments, but not full nights. I’m just thankful they thought of me to put in their car as Brenham (Crouch) heals.”
The best result of the 10-race partnership occurred on Aug. 31 at Douglas County Dirt Track in Roseburg, Ore., where Scelzi maneuvered from 15th to a ninth-place finish.
“I felt like it was one of those nights when we had to overcome adversity as well,” he said. “We had a fuel pickup issue, but we qualified just good enough and heat raced just good enough. In the main event, we were able to pass some good cars. We had moments throughout our time together when we were a top 10, but couldn’t seem to get over the hump other than that night.”
Scelzi tied for the most positions gained after charging from 23rd to 14th at Santa Maria Speedway in Santa Maria, Calif., on Aug. 20. He advanced from 26th to 13th at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., on Aug. 28. Scelzi highlighted last weekend’s Skagit Nationals at Skagit Speedway with a run from 25th to 14th on Friday.
“Their program is a lot different than our program so I had to learn what would work,” he said. “We hit it off, but it was a matter of getting myself comfortable and what worked for me in their program. We tried really hard to gel quickly and put ourselves in position to be better.
“We passed race cars. They were 13th in points when we teamed up and now they are 11th in points so that’s a positive.”
