AUSTIN PROCK RACES TO JOHN FORCE RACING’S 301st FUNNY CAR VICTORY

AND CHEVROLET’S 173rd NHRA Funny Car WIN

Dallas Glenn Captures Chevrolet’s 405th Pro Stock Victory

His Second this Season with a Holeshot Win

Notes:

  • Austin Prock defeated Paul Lee, Dave Richards and Matt Hagan in the NHRA Las Vegas 4-Wide Nationals final round to capture John Force Racing’s 301st Funny Car victory, his 13th-career win – his ninth Funny Car, and Chevrolet’s 173rd Wally trophy in Nitro Funny Car.
  • Prock’s run of 4.009 seconds E.T., in the Cornwall Tools Camaro SS Funny Car, at 316.01 mph was good enough to get the victory after Hagan smoked the tires at 1/3-track and Richards lost traction mid-run.
  • Brittany Force, Monster Energy Chevrolet Dragster, and Jack Beckman, Peak Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet SS Funny Car, both fell in Round One in Top-Fuel and Funny Car respectively.
  • Capturing Chevrolet’s 405th victory in Pro Stock since 1970 was KB Titan Racing driver Dallas Glenn
  • It was Glenn’s 15th Career Win Defeating Matt Hartford, KB Titan Racing Teammate Greg Anderson and Series’ Pro Stock points leader and Matt Latino in the Finals
  • Glenn also had a successful Saturday at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway capturing the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge win.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING:

AUSTIN PROCK, DRIVER OF THE CORNWELL TOOLS CHEVROLET SS FUNNY CAR FOR JOHN FORCE RACING:

“We’re getting close that’s for sure. This Prock Rocket ain’t perfect yet but it’s heading in the right direc=on and that’s what we need to be proud about right now. That was an ugly win but like I said earlier this morning, if they were ugly all day but the win light was coming on I didn’t give a crap. So proud of this John Force Racing team. I just love having John Force out at the racetrack, it just gasses you up every time you get in one of these. He told me he was proud of me this week and that means a lot. Really proud to drive this Cornwell Tools Chevy SS with Hendrickcars.com, PEAK, Powers Affordable Housing, Graham Rahal Performance, having them onboard is just so cool, hopefully Graham is doing good in his race and hopefully Kyle Larson can get a dub too.”

JACK BECKMAN, DRIVER OF THE PEAK ANTIFREEZE AND COOLANT CHEVROLET SS FUNNY CAR FOR JOHN FORCE RACING:

“Rough weekend for both Graham Rahal Performance cars. The silver lining is we got to go up and cheer our teammate Austin Prock on in the final round. When you struggle, it’s always tough to not achieve your goals. We found our cause. We’re on it. It’ll be fixed by the time we roll into Charlotte, and I expect us to be right back into championship form then. We have special little one off going into Charlotte, I did a little teaser on NHRA.tv, but I can’t say what it is but I’ll say, motorsports fans will dig what we’re doing.”

BRITTANY FORCE / MONSTER ENERGY CHEVROLET DRAGSTER:

“Unfortunately, our GRP car went out early today. We had two great sessions during Saturday Qualifying, jumping us up to No. 2, and we won a round in the

Mission 2Fast2Tasty Challenge. However, our car smoked the bres in the first round. I pedaled it and it hooked back up and it went down there but unfortunately, we didn’t get a win light. So, we’ll pack up and head to next four wide in Charloie and see if we can win there. I’m excited to get to zMAX. We’ll be running our Hendrickcars.com colors all weekend long and even though we had an early exit here in Las Vegas I feel this team and this car is in a really good posibon and a win is right around the corner.”
