Cruz Pedregon–Chicago Advance

NHRA® Team Report
Route 66 NHRA Nationals – Chicago
Pre-Race Report

It’s been a busy two weeks for Cruz Pedregon and team as they took full advantage of time in the shop before the four-race series begins in Chicago this week. “We’ve been prepping and building parts, getting ready for back-to-back races and getting the Snap-on Funny Car where we want it before the weekend,” Cruz said. “This is an important race for us each year because it’s considered the ‘home track’ for our primary sponsor, Snap-on, who hosts around 600 guests here for the race each year. And, it’s always fun to have the Chairman and CEO Nick Pinchuk visit the pit and see how we put the company’s tools and tool storage to work here at the track. He’s a big fan of the sport and long-time supporter of my racing career.”

To add to the excitement of the upcoming weekend, the team announced Jeff “Gypsy” Mohr as its new hospitality director. Jeff is seasoned in the sport having worked with teams dating back to his start with Don “The Snake” Prudhomme in 2003. Along with welcoming Jeff to the team, Cruz took time during the break to fulfill his need for speed by attending the Indianapolis 500.

Cruz will be back to running the El Demonio body and traditional paint scheme on the Snap-on Dodge® in Chicago.

On the side of Cruz’s car this week –
If you’ll check the side of Cruz’s car this week, you’ll see the name of local Snap-on Nitro Franchisee Tyler Monsen. Tyler has been a part of the Snap-on team for several years and decided to become a franchisee two years ago. He says his favorite part of the work he does is the customers, and he says they are really loving Snap-on cordless impacts right now. Tyler likes to spend weekends with much smaller cars of the “remote control” variety, but this weekend he’ll be here at the track with us and spending time with the 11,000 horsepower variety cars.
