The past weekend saw the Drift Masters European Championship return for Round 3. The highly anticipated ‘King Of Riga’ round promised to bring some of the best action from the series both on and off track. The Biķernieki Circuit played host to 60 drivers and a 5000+ crowd for the two day event.

Baggsy was excited to debut his new LSX-R 454 V8 powered PS13 at Round 3. The team at SB Motorsport have been hard at work completely rebuilding the PS13, which is now sporting a 600+hp Chevrolet V8, new styling, livery and a whole host of other goodies.

After a full day of practice, Friday evening would see the famous Riga street parade take place. 60 plus drift cars took to the streets of the Latvian capital for a wild display of power and noise. The parade would descend upon the Riga Town Hall Square where Baggsy and teammate Nigel Colfer signed posters and posed for pictures with the fans.

Saturday morning would bring another practice session, closely followed by qualifications. Baggsy’s PS13 developed a few teething problems during practice, which would later force him to shutdown the car during both qualifying runs, ending his weekend early. Nigel Colfer took the 7th spot in qualifications with a solid 90 point run.

After a twin battle practice session, the main event got underway. The Top 32 would see Nigel Colfer take on Polish driver Tobiasz Puścian. The heavens would open as the Top 32 started, leaving the drivers guessing track conditions. After a hard fought battle and a small collision, the judges awarded the win to Colfer advancing him on to the Top 16 bracket.

Top 16 and Colfer would meet Danish driver Mikkel Overgaard. After a quick repair to the front end damage by the SB Motorsport team, and the sun back out. The track conditions had started to change once again, making driving conditions unpredictable. With a slight error from Colfer, the judges awarded the win to Overgaard ending Colfer’s weekend in the Top 16.
