Dominic Scelzi Set for The Dirt Track at Kern County Raceway Park Debut This Saturday
Inside Line Promotions – FRESNO, Calif. (April 2, 2018) – Dominic Scelzi will make his debut at The Dirt Track at Kern County Raceway Park this Saturday.
Scelzi and his family owned, Roth Motorsports backed team are tackling the King of the West-NARC Fujitsu Series season opener in Bakersfield, Calif., with a lot of confidence.
“I feel pretty confident in our equipment and in my driving right now,” Scelzi said. “For me the biggest thing is to race smart. The car has had enough speed. I feel we should be able to qualify well and put ourselves in a good position.”
Scelzi said he has watched a video of last year’s King of the West-NARC Fujitsu Series event at the oval, where his younger brother, Giovanni, placed fourth.
“I’ve only seen the track on video, but it looked pretty racy in the feature,” Dominic Scelzi said. “I’m excited to just be racing because we’ve had so much speed. I’m looking forward to going somewhere new where everyone raved after the first race last year.”
Scelzi was fast during the five World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series events in the West this season. He qualified in the top 10 of his group during each race, including in the top five twice, and he made all five A Mains with one top-five finish and two top 10s.
“We’ve had a fast race car during each event this season and I feel like we ran well with the World of Outlaws so that’s a confidence booster entering this weekend,” he said. “Our goal is to win some races in California this spring and it’d be great to start that this Saturday.”
