SCCA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RUNOFFS FINALIST GOES PRO

Justin Gordon enters 2018 F4 U.S. Championship

INDIANAPOLIS (March 19, 2018)- Following in the footsteps of legends like Roger Penske, Dorsey Schroeder and Chip Ganassi, Justin Gordon of West Palm Beach, Florida, will take the skills he developed in the Sports Car Club of America to the next level in his motorsport career. The SCCA National Championship Runoffs finalist confirmed his entry for the third season of SCCA Pro Racing’s Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, running independently under Justin Gordon Racing.

“I’m ecstatic to compete in F4 this year,” Gordon said. “I feel that this is the best place for young, talented drivers, like myself, to showcase their skills, especially with the car count almost doubling every year. We are confident in the team that we have compiled, and I would like to give a special thank you to John Zuccarelli who has been my supporter and mentor throughout my racing career.”

The 18-year-old club-racing standout placed second in the Formula Enterprise class during the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2017 and went on to win the American Road Race Championship in a SCCA Enterprises FE. Early on in his formula club racing career, Gordon captured multiple podiums and was voted Rookie Driver of the Year for the Southeast SCCA Division in 2016.

“SCCA club racing is a perfect training ground through which to enter pro racing,” SCCA Pro Racing Vice President Steve Oseth said. “F4 U.S. has benefited greatly with contributions from club racing standouts like Jim Goughary Jr., Steve Bamford, Austin McCusker and Jacob Loomis.”

Gordon marks the 27th early entry for the 2018 F4 U.S. season. During its 20-race 2017 season, F4 U.S. averaged 33 cars per event and is anticipating even more growth in the upcoming season.

Gordon and the rest of the F4 U.S. field will make its 2018 debut at Virginia International Raceway April 27-29. For more information on the championship, schedule and entries visit F4USChampionship.com.
