Meyer Hopes To Close Championship Gap at Dodge NHRA Nationals in Reading, PA
Megan Meyer and the Randy Meyer Racing Team had a short outing at the NHRA Carolina Nationals last weekend. Megan, who was the number one qualifier of the event with a 5.23 ET at 279 mph, exited eliminations in the second round running a 5.31 ET to Dan Page’s 5.32 ET. Her teammate, Justin Ashley, lost in the opening round of eliminations after qualifying as the third quickest car.
The team is happy with the performance of the cars, however, and are eager to be at their next event at Maple Grove Raceway near Reading, Pennsylvania for the Dodge NHRA Nationals. Megan enters this event as number three in the world and has room to make up for the second round loss.
“This is my first time coming to ‘The Grove’ and I’m excited to visit the beautiful track and meet new fans,” said Megan. “Losing on a holeshot in Charlotte was a tough loss to swallow; it really set us back in points. If we can do good and go rounds at our next two races, I believe we have a chance at winning the Championship at the end of the year.”
