Austin Dillon and the Rheem Chevrolet Team Earn Second-Place Finish at Phoenix International Raceway

“We had a really fast Rheem Chevrolet. We decided to take four tires trying to get off strategy. We just didn’t fire off good enough to run down the No. 18 car but a late caution would have put us in an interesting position. We were a little too tight to really gain speed but I could make up some ground in turns three and four. The guys did a great job giving us a fast car tonight and the pit crew was on it.”

Ty Dillon and The No. 3 Red Kap/Prudential Overall Supply Team Record 16th top-10 Finish of the Season at Phoenix International Raceway

“We really rebounded well in the race after a not-so-great qualifying effort. It’s no secret that we haven’t had some things go our way this season, but the guys on this team never gave up on it. I’m proud of how we got the car right between qualifying and the race and we were able to drive up inside the top 10 and even lead a few laps. I love racing here at Phoenix International Raceway and tonight was another fun race to be a part of.”

Brandon Jones Fights Back to 18th in Okuma Chevrolet at Phoenix International Raceway

“It was a pretty rough outing tonight at Phoenix International Raceway. I thought we were going to have a good night based off how we ran in practice, but we could never get the balance right on the Okuma Chevrolet. We have never raced here at night in the XFINITY Series and never got to practice in these conditions, so that threw us for a little bit of a loop. We were on both sides of the spectrum in terms of handling throughout the night. We used some pit strategy to get back to the front, but got shuffled out on the late restart and fought our way to 18th by the time the checkered flag flew. We have one more race, so we’ll move on to Homestead-Miami Speedway and see what we can get there.”

Brendan Gaughan’s Chase Battle Ends Early After Mid-Race Incident

“We fired off tight in the South Point Chevrolet tonight. Shane Wilson and the guys worked on the car’s handling during the first caution and we made the balance better through the corners. Shortly thereafter, I cut a tire on the straightaway. I swear I checked my watch twice before I hit the wall thinking ‘this is not going to be good.’ If the race would have stayed green like Shane and I had wanted, I would have had just enough fuel to make it to the end because I did a good job of conserving. Unfortunately, we were the caution when that tire went down. We took a shot at it, we took a big swing, and I can’t ask for anything more. Shane Wilson will dig. He always takes care of me. It has been fun to be in the XFINITY Series Chase this year. I wish we would have had a better second round, but we will come back next year and try to do what we did in the first round through all three rounds.”
