TEAM SUMMIT RACING READY TO WIN IN SONOMA

Mooresville, NC (July 27, 2016) – Team Summit Racing rolls into the second stop on the Western Swing this weekend, the Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals. Pro Stock drivers Greg Anderson and Jason Line both have a significant lead in points over the competition.

Last weekend in at the Mile-High Nationals in Denver, both Anderson and Line were stopped in the semifinal round, breaking their 13-race winning streak. Both feel they can turn things around in Sonoma.

Team Summit Racing has experienced a lot of success over the years at Sonoma Raceway. Greg Anderson has won there four times and was runner-up four times. Jason Line has made it to the finals six times, winning three of those races.

“We love Sonoma because it’s a fast race track and it fits our MO really well. We always look forward to this race,” Anderson said. “Unfortunately we broke our streak in Denver. But I’ve had a few days to stop worrying about it, to get my head back in the game and go make amends in Sonoma.”

“Sonoma has been good to me. Hopefully history and tradition hold true and we have a good weekend there,” Line said. “It’s a great place to go and my family will be with me. I tend to do better in Sonoma racing conditions.”

Nitro Funny Car driver Tim Wilkerson will be driving a brand new car this weekend. Wilkerson suffered a crash in Denver, forcing him to withdraw from the race. Since then, his crew has been working around the clock to get the car from Indianapolis to Sonoma and get it race-ready.

“Last Saturday, when we realized we couldn’t compete with the car, we immediately made plans to get the new Funny Car to Sonoma,” said Wilkerson. “It’s an honor to have such a dedicated crew and sponsors that come to my side when I really need them. The car is in Sonoma now and we have a busy couple days ahead of us getting ready to race.”
