TEAM SUMMIT RACING TO BATTLE NEW CONDITIONS,
WANTS WIN #14
NHRA MAKES DEBUT ON FOX NETWORK WITH LIVE COVERAGE

Mooresville, NC (July 19, 2016)—The Mopar NHRA Mile-High Nationals in Denver could be the most challenging race for Team Summit Racing Pro Stock drivers Greg Anderson and Jason Line. This is the first race at the mile-high track with the new EFI setup.

After winning the NHRA Route 66 Nationals in Chicago, Greg Anderson explained how KB Racing is straying from the rest of the Pro Stock pack, testing and tuning at their shop to gain an advantage and win at Bandimere Speedway.

“Most of the Pro Stock class is going to Denver early to test. Normally we do, too. But we’re trying to find ways to get our engines to run better using our dynos,” Anderson said. “This is what we’re hedging our bets on—testing at home. So someone is going to be right and someone is going to be wrong.”

The Mile-High Nationals is the first of three back-to-back races on the NHRA Western Swing. After Denver the drivers will compete in Sonoma and Seattle. Anderson is the only Pro Stock driver to ever “Sweep the Swing” and win all three races in the same year.

Bandimere Speedway is a track that Jason Line wants to conquer. With two past runner-up finishes at the Mile-High Nationals, he hopes to make it to the winner’s circle this weekend.

“We know what to expect in Denver, so it comes down to making sure we get the engines tuned right,” Line said. “There have been a couple times I thought I should have won at Bandimere, so I would love to add this track to my list.”

The NHRA Western Swing also poses a challenge for independent teams like Nitro Funny Car driver Tim Wilkerson. Being on the West Coast for three straight weeks requires careful planning and packing.

“The Western Swing is a huge challenge because we compete so far from home. We have to pack enough parts to get us through three races,” said Wilkerson. “This is where only having one truck and trailer can be a deficit.”

The Mile-High Nationals is the first NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event to be broadcast on the FOX Network. It’s a huge stride that everyone at the NHRA is very excited about.

“The NHRA Mello Yello Series making its live debut on broadcast television on FOX is a very satisfying moment,” said Peter Clifford, NHRA president. “The sport has grown so much this year through great coverage on FS1 that we feel the opportunity to showcase the world’s fastest motorsport to an even bigger audience is a game-changer.”
