JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (June 29, 2016) – Olsbergs MSE, with drivers Joni Wiman and Sebastian Eriksson, looks to capitalize on the performance displayed by the brand new Honda Civics at Daytona International Speedway as the Red Bull Global Rallycross Series competes at the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) in New River, N. C. for Rounds Six and Seven of the 2016 season.

After claiming two third-place finishes in the Daytona contests, Eriksson will look to build upon his early season success with his teammate Wiman at the active military base on July 4 weekend. MCAS may be a familiar venue for Red Bull GRC, but the series will debut a new course layout, putting the Honda Red Bull OMSE Civics through one of the longest dirt sections of the season.

This new, .713-mile, 58 percent pavement/41.7 percent dirt circuit that races across Marine Corps runways will showcase the Honda Civic Coupe’s agility, adaptability and speed from the 600-plus horsepower engine.

“Returning to New River is awesome,” said Wiman, driver of the No. 31 Honda Red Bull OMSE Civic. “Being able to race in front of all of the servicemen and women who work and call the base (MCAS New River) home is truly special, and on top of that we get to compete with them on July 4th weekend. I am really looking forward to the first practice session so we can truly see how fast this course is.”

“I think the biggest thing for me is to keep the consistency going,” said Eriksson, driver of the No. 93 Honda Red Bull OMSE Civic. “We had some success in Daytona, but we’re determined to get Honda its first victory in Red Bull GRC. It’s a doubleheader weekend, so we get two chances to deliver a great result.”

Honda is currently third in the season long manufacturers’ championship, but will get two opportunities to move up the standings at the third doubleheader event of the 2016 season. Coverage of Rounds Six and Seven of the championship begins on Sunday, July 3 at 5 p.m. ET live on NBC with online coverage on Red Bull TV starting at 5:30 p.m. ET.
