Scott Dixon Puts Chevy on Front Row at Texas

FT. WORTH (June 10, 2016) – Scott Dixon led the charge of Chevrolet drivers in Verizon IndyCar Series (VICS) qualifying for the Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). The four-time and defending Series’ champion qualified the No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet second with an average speed of 217.137 mph/48.2460 seconds total time.

Dixon, who won the TMS race under the lights in 2015, will make his 200th consecutive VICS start when he takes the green flag Saturday night. Dixon won earlier this seaon on the one-mile Phoenix International Raceway oval.

Helio Castroneves, No 3 AAA Insurance Tam Penske Chevrolet, will start third in the 248-lap/360.84-mile/600K race on the 1.455-mile track. Josef Newgarden put the No. 21 Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet in the fifth starting position.

Current points leader Simon Pagenaud who has won three times this season will start the No. 22 Hewlett Packard Enterprise Team Penske Chevrolet from sixth on the grid. Detroit Race Two winner Will Power, No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet, will roll off 7th with Tony Kanaan, No. 10 NTT Data Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet starting in the eighth position on grid.

The remaining Chevrolet Aero Kit with integrated 2.2 liter V6 engine will start as follows:
