Ven Racing–Festival of Power, Santa Pod 25th-27th March.

Festival of Power, Santa Pod 25th-27th March.

Our first ACU race meeting of the year saw us at Santa Pod on a sunny Friday with not a cloud in the sky and a slight cross wind.
Over the winter period we changed over from the ice coolant system to the co2 spray bar charge cooler which reduced the bikes
weight by 27lbs, also we added a DME rear facing exhaust system to the bike instead of the side exit system which we believe was
turning the bike left at the top end

.
Our first qualifier saw us run a very straight and strong 7.18 at 200.66mph to take the number 1 spot and put us 2 tenths quicker
than the next racer.
On the second qualifier the bike wouldn’t shift into 5th or 6th gear but I still ran a 7.34 at 164, still making us the quickest of the session.

Saturday was called off as the rain and wind didn’t let off all day so it was straight into eliminations on Sunday, it was a dry but cold
morning with a strong headwind.
First elimination saw me on a bye as the other racer was a no show, even with the head wind I ran a 7.21 @203.25mph.
After intermittent rain the meeting was called off in the late afternoon.

Even with the weather and a few shifting problems we felt it was a successful first meeting we qualified number 1, had the quickest
et and fastest mph of the meeting. I will be at Shakespeare Raceway 30th April-2nd May for the next ACU round then myself and
Jemma will both be racing at the Main Event 27th-30th May for the first European Round
