Summit Racing–Line returns to Texas with a capable team, solid history

Line returns to Texas with a capable team, solid history

Mooresville, N.C., October 13, 2015 – Jason Line started the 2015 season of NHRA’s Mello Yello Drag Racing Series with a very strong pulse beating through his Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro, and he would like to finish on the same strong note. There are three races to go, and at this weekend’s 30th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals, he is aiming for a resurgence.

The KB Racing team has six wins at Texas Motorplex in the books, and Line owns two of them.

“I think one of the coolest things about winning this race is getting that cowboy hat in the winner’s circle,” said Line, who has two wins in four final rounds for the season entering the event.

“We’ve been able to do that a couple of times at Texas Motorplex, and it’s always a lot of fun. It’s something special that you really don’t get anywhere else, and this year for the 30th anniversary, they’ve got a really nice belt buckle to go with it. It’s something any one of us would like to have, but only one driver is going to get it.”

Line has two NHRA FallNationals victories, earned in 2011 and 2013. Last year, the driver of the blue Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro was runner-up at Texas Motorplex, but it was in the final round of the delayed Charlotte race that had been rained out. He qualified No. 4 for the FallNationals main event and exited in the second round.

“In the past, this race has actually been pretty good to our KB Racing team,” said Line, currently No. 8 in the Pro Stock standings. “We have some pretty high expectations this weekend, but I think our goals are reasonable when you look at what this Summit Racing team is capable of and our past history there. We’ll go there and do our best, and hopefully we come home with the trophy.”
