Maple Grove record holder Line returns to favored facility
with plans to go fast

Mooresville, N.C., September 30, 2015 – Maple Grove Raceway is one of the racetracks that the Pro Stock competitors truly enjoy visiting. The naturally aspirated factory hot rods simply breathe better amongst all of those trees in Reading, and that means optimum use of horsepower. The race this weekend is the third of six in NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship playoffs, and Jason Line expects to go fast at the 31st annual NHRA Keystone Nationals.

“Maple Grove Raceway has always been one of my favorite places we go on the NHRA tour, for several reasons,” said Line. “That particular racetrack is a great place for racing Pro Stock, and our Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaros seem to do very well there. I have had a lot of good races there, and we’ve set the record at Maple Grove a few times.”

Some of the quickest side-by-side runs in the history of Pro Stock have happened at Maple Grove Raceway. Line, who made his first Reading race a decade ago in 2004, has been low qualifier at the event four times and has a perfect record in Maple Grove final rounds with wins scored in 2004 over Summit Racing teammate Greg Anderson and in 2011 over then-KB Racing teammate Ronnie Humphrey.

“It’s just fun to race there,” admitted Line, who holds the Maple Grove Raceway track record for speed with very swift 214.35 mph clocked in 2012.

The past history of the KB Racing team and Line’s Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro is a positive for the group as they head to Maple Grove with their work cut out for them. Line, who was dominant earlier in the season, is currently No. 8 in the Pro Stock standings and seeking his first win in the Countdown.

“This is a race I always look forward to,” said Line. “Of course, we have a job to do. KB Racing will be focused on that and on capitalizing on the conditions. We could see more record runs this weekend if the conditions are just right.”
