· Four Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.Rs for third round of Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge

· Stevenson Motorsports four-of-four in podium finishes in 2015

· Mantella Autosport coming off top-four finish at Sebring

DETROIT (April 29, 2015) – The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R returns to the race track this weekend for the third round of the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. Four of the second-year Camaro Z/28.Rs will compete at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with Chevrolet holding the lead in the Manufacturer Championship of the Grand Sport (GS) class.

Both Stevenson Motorsports and Mantella Autosport each have entered two Camaro Z/28.Rs, and both teams are coming off strong results in the previous race at Sebring International Raceway in March. Stevenson Motorsports’ pairing of Robin Liddell and Andrew Davis won at Sebring in the No. 6 Camaro and lead the GS Driver’s Championship. They were runners-up in the season-opening round at Daytona.

Matt Bell and Lawson Aschenbach in the Stevenson Motorsports No. 9 Camaro Z/28.R were second at Sebring and third at Daytona. The duo stands third in GS points.

“Racing at Laguna Seca is always a pleasure. It’s an excellent venue and one of the best on our calendar,” Liddell said. “It is always good to come into a race coming off a victory. The continued progress of the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R has been evident during the first two events of the season. Laguna Seca presents a set of challenges where handling, braking and generating grip are key. It will take a total team effort to score maximum manufacturer points for Chevrolet, as well as in the driver and team standings.”

The Chevrolet Camaro has found success at Laguna Seca in recent seasons. Stevenson Motorsports won there in 2011 and 2012 with Bell as part of the winning efforts in both seasons, and he was second in a Stevenson Motorsports Camaro in 2013. Last year, Aschenbach and Eric Curran were runners-up in the Camaro Z/28.R’s first race at the circuit.

Mantella Autosport is coming off a fourth- and seventh-place finish at Sebring with its pair of Camaro Z/28.Rs. Kyle Marcelli and Martin Barkey led the team’s effort there and stand fifth in GS points. The team has three top-10 finishes in the first two races with the Camaro Z/28.R.
