Kasey Kahne Racing Update–Knoxville Nationals

Rain Slows First Night of 54th Annual Knoxville Nationals; Pittman Wins World Challenge on Saturday Night

Rain early in the week in Knoxville slowed the start of the 54th Annual Knoxville Nationals, and as it is every year, the competition was fierce, lots of fans, and lots of racing. Over 100 cars entered this year’s event with the goal of winning the $150,000 A-main on Saturday night.

All three KKR teams made the main event, with Daryn Pittman winning Saturday night’s World Challenge event – with Brad Sweet finishing third – and Sweet also won the hard charger award by advancing 10 positions in the 50-lap race.

Last night the Outlaw tour stopped in McCool Junction, Nebraska. Brad Sweet challenged for the win coming home in fourth, while Pittman collected another top-10 finish. Cody Darrah won the team appointed “Kitchen Sink” award as everything but the kitchen sink was thrown at the team throughout the night. The 4 team never gave up and came home 14th.
