Honda-Powered HPD ARX-04b to tackle Pikes Peak
• Indy car veteran, race winner Justin Wilson to pilot LMP2 machine
• New coupe design debuted at 24 Hours of Daytona
• Utilizes production-based 3.5 liter Honda V6 engine

TORRANCE, Calif. (June 17, 2015) – A number of different types of Honda and Acura vehicles have taken part in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in recent years, ranging from the Acura NSX to the Honda Fit, and even a high-speed Honda Odyssey, but Honda Performance Development has upped the ante this year by entering one its newest sports cars in the race up the 14,110-foot mountain.
The new Honda-powered HPD ARX-04b LMP2 coupe that competed in this year’s Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona has been entered in the 2015 Pikes Peak event, and will be driven by Verizon IndyCar Series race winner and former Formula 1 driver Justin Wilson.
The ARX-04b will be the first full-carbon monocoque vehicle ever sanctioned for PPIHC entry and will be fitted with a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine. The ARX-04b will compete in the Unlimited class, which features highly-modified cars that can navigate the 156 turns of the 12.42-mile course in under 10 minutes. Ty Dillon Finishes 14th in Rain-Shortened Quicken Loans 400

Ty Dillon drove Circle Sport Racing’s No. 33 Nexium® 24HR Chevrolet SS to a 14th-place finish Sunday afternoon in his sixth-career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start. The 14th-place place finish is a career high for the 23-year-old driver, and marks back-to-back top-20 finishes for the No. 33 Chevy driver. Dillon qualified 22nd on Friday afternoon, but quickly proved his Nexium® 24HR Chevy was a top-10 car in the race. After three separate rain delays, the team finally got a long green-flag stretch starting on lap 51. Dillon drove from the 16th position to ninth and remained inside of the top 10 for a majority of the stretch. With the threat of rain, crew chief Slugger Labbe called Dillon to pit road to prepare him for the final run. Dillon came off pit road 15th and was caught a lap down when a caution flag came out on lap 124. The team took the wave around to get back on the lead lap, but ran out of time to race back inside the top 10. Heavy rain clouds circled Michigan International Speedway and shortened the 200-lap race to 138 laps when the skies opened up, leaving Dillon with his 14th-place finish.

They really wanted me to because of everyone that was coming. It was close racing but for sure too, I got a little lucky and you have to look at that. I got lucky on that yellow. It was a great call though and you can’t discount it that it was a great call by the team. It was an amazing effort by this team and the crew who gave me amazing pit stops. We were disappointed by qualifying because we knew we had a fast car. I am so happy to get a win, but a 1-2 is just amazing. Luka is just such a star and it was just amazing for us that he could get a second place as well.
