As the NASCAR world looks back on the career accomplishments of Elzie Wylie “Buddy” Baker, who died Monday of cancer at age 74, an interesting trend emerges. Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford race team played their pit strategy just right and passed leader Kevin Harvick on the white flag lap to earn the victory on Sunday afternoon at Watkins Glen International (WGI), their second win of the 2015 season. With Shell technology under the hood, the win at WGI marked a weekend sweep for Logano, who also won Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series event. Sunday’s victory was also the first for Team Penske in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Watkins Glen. Scelzi scored a pair of podium finishes during his debut using KW Suspensions shocks.

“We were trying some new shocks thanks to Brent Ventura and Roth Motorsports,” he said. “It’s a night-and-day difference. They are by far the best shocks I’ve raced on. WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – (August 9, 2015) – Reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Kevin Harvick, had to settle for a third-place finish in the CHEEZ-IT 355 at Watkins Glen International when his No. 4 Budweiser/Jimmy John’s Chevrolet SS ran out of fuel on the final lap of the race. Having led 29 of the 90-lap, 220.5-mile event, more than any other driver, Harvick ran dry with just two corners to go.
