DALE EARNHARDT, JR., NO. 88 NATIONWIDE CHEVROLET SS – RACE WINNER
“Just real emotional, man. Everything is just so good for me now. My personal life. My racing. The team I am with. I don’t know why. I don’t feel like I deserve it. I just feel overcome with a lot of emotion. It has been a long time since I won here. I’ve run so good here, and not to win here in so many races has bothered me. I want to thank Nationwide and my team, my guys. Greg (Ives, crew chief) Kevin (Meendering, engineer). All the guys from last year, Steve Letarte, I’m sure they are happy. All those guys that have moved on. It is a great day for a lot of people that have been a part of this and helped us get here. We just have a really good group of guys. I’m blessed, man. I’m blessed. We just have a really good group of guys.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Talladega–Post Race Quotes

Mechanical Issue Shortens Brian Scott’s day at Talladega Superspeedway

In only his 10th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start, Brian Scott and the No. 33 Shore Lodge Chevrolet qualified in the 16th position for the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Scott suffered a mechanical issue on lap 19 that caused an accident in turn one and ended the day for the Joe Falk Racing entry. Scott will return to the wheel of the No. 33 ACME / Kraft Singles Chevrolet SS at Dover International Speedway.

Start – 16 Finish – 43 Laps Led – 0 Points – N/A

Brian Scott Quote:
“I have to apologize to the other teams that we took out. Of course the bad thing about Talladega Superspeedway is when something happens other cars are all around you, unfortunate short end to our day. ECR engines and RCR everybody at the shop does a great job. The horsepower, our engines everything has been great. On the NASCAR XFINITY Series side they ran flawlessly. I hate it for our partners Shore Lodge, Whitetail, Albertsons, everybody to have our day ruined so early.”

KASEY KAHNE, NO. 5 FARMERS INSURANCE CHEVROLET SS – Involved in a multi-car accident on lap 46
WHAT HAPPENED?
“I don’t really know I was on the outside so I couldn’t really see what was going on. I saw him try to really ditch the No. 6 for a while inside, middle, wherever he was at I saw him trying to ditch him. Then I saw him wreck in front of me. I don’t know what happened there if someone hit him, or he spun. I felt like our Farmers Insurance Chevy was pretty fast. All the Hendrick cars are. It is discouraging but we will get it fixed and try to pass the guys that wrecked.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Talladega–Post Race Quotes

JEFF GORDON, NO. 24 DRIVE TO END HUNGER CHEVROLET SS – POLE SITTER
“We definitely have a fast Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet. I think we’ve shown that all weekend long. But you never know what you’ve got until you put it on the clock. I am so proud of this pole because we got the pole in Daytona, but it was a totally different format. I knew the car was fast there. For this team to bring another car, a different car here, and all the hard work from the engine shop and what they do with the bodies, and chassis and prep. A lot of hard work goes into this and Alan Gustafson (crew chief) takes a lot of pride in these. They should, this is awesome. And awesome for Hendrick Motorsports to be on the front row. This was all them. I played a small role at Daytona, but I played NO role today, but it was fun.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Talladega–Qualifying

ANOTHER STRONG RUN FOR YOUR TEAM LAST WEEK AT RICHMOND YOU COME INTO TALLADEGA THIS WEEK TALK ABOUT YOUR TEAMS OUTLOOK GOING INTO SUNDAY’S RACE:
“We talked a little bit about the outlook I guess at the beginning of the week. It’s just going to be try to stay up front and hopefully stay out of trouble. We all know that is hard to do, but I believe in today’s rules package and all the things that go with it it’s just better to be in the front. I feel like you are safer up there. If you are going to win the race, which is what we want to do, you are going to have to go through or be a part of the pack at some point. It seems like that is the best way to do it for us.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Talladega–Kevin Harvick

YOU RECENTLY RECORDED THE MOST ALL-TIME TOP 10 WINS BY A FEMALE DRIVER. TALK A BIT ABOUT YOUR SEASON AND HOW YOU WOULD RATE THAT OVERALL AT THIS POINT
“I think we get rated in the point standings every year. That’s usually how people think of the season and how it’s going. But, it’s going better. It’s going better than it has yet in Cup. I think we definitely, as a team, had challenges put on our plate to start the year with a new crew chief and me being a new driver for him and just a lot of changes overall. But, I think that we’ve overcome them really well, and we still have our tough and rough weekends. I feel like, as personalities, we work together well. We get upset and we have our moments, but we are able to communicate really well during. So, I think our professionalism and staying even-keel with each other is allowing us to be able to get the most out of each race weekend and each race itself. I think that in general, it’s going pretty well and it makes me look forward to where we will evolve to because in my mind, it really can only get better as we are still learning each other and learning what set-ups work for me and what changes work for me, so it makes me excited.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Talladega–Danica Patrick

John Force Racing–NHRA Teleconference 4.30.15

Prior to the start of John Force’s Q&A Funny Car driver Jack Beckman was asked about his personal highlight of the season. He talked about the time he has spent raising awareness for veterans and then he offered some thoughts on John Force.
“I want to say one more thing. I know John Force doesn’t like to get his back patted here. But I wish sometime, and you have to ask his brother Walker, because John will never take credit for this, if you asked him to briefly list some of the stuff, it would take four hours to do, the things that John does for fans and other racers, and never wants any credit for that. I also got to say this. Maybe one of the highlights of my career, it’s something I can’t wait to tell my grandkids, is that I got to race against John Force. In baseball, you have a pretty limited career because of your physical capabilities. In drag racing, guys like (indiscernible) has proved that if you take care of your eyes you can stay in a car till an advanced age. At 65, John is still the toughest Funny Car driver out there. There’s no question in my mind there’s a little bit extra when John Force is in the other lane. Because you can compete at different ages in this sport, it would be like a Little League player getting to grow up and play against Babe Ruth. John, I want you to know how much it means to so many of the other racers out there that you’re still coming out and fighting the fight, doing the things you’re doing.” – Jack Beckman Continue reading John Force Racing–NHRA Teleconference 4.30.15
