Josh Berry and the No. 21 eero team battled through a marathon Quaker State 400 at EchoPark Speedway before ultimately coming home with a 25th-place finish in a race that stretched into the early hours of Monday morning.

After weather delayed the event for more than three hours, the 260-lap race didn’t conclude until well after midnight. Berry took the green flag from the 17th starting position and steadily worked his way through the field during the opening 60-lap Stage, remaining inside the top 25 throughout and finishing the segment in 20th.

Following a four-tire pit stop, Berry continued to run inside the top 20 for much of Stage 2 before lightning and heavy rain brought out a red flag on Lap 108. At the time of the stoppage, he was scored 22nd.

When racing resumed after a three-hour, nine-minute delay, the No. 21 team pitted one lap later than much of the field before restarting 28th. As the stage progressed, the handling shifted away from the eero Ford Mustang Dark Horse, and Berry finished Stage 2 in 28th.

Berry worked his way into the top 15 during the opening laps of the final stage, reaching 13th before a caution on Lap 195 for AJ Allmendinger’s spin brought the field to pit road. Confusion during the pit stop cost Berry several positions, leaving him to restart deeper in the field. Despite continuing to battle over the closing laps, he was unable to regain the lost track position and crossed the finish line in 25th.

English, of Benton, KY, officially clinched the 2026 Summer Nationals championship after a dominant run of consistency that netted him four wins, 17 podium finishes, 19 top-fives and 21 top-10s in 23 starts. Among all the accolades he collected, English also broke through and made Summer Nationals history as the first driver from the state of Kentucky to win the season-long points title.

“It’s pretty cool just to be that consistent, and that says a lot about our equipment and everything we’ve got going on — our maintenance, everything, it’s just amazing to be able to accomplish that,” English said. “And at all these different racetracks, too. That’s what a lot of people don’t realize — no two of these tracks are the same. Some of them you don’t want to race at, some of them you do. It’s just pretty cool to be that consistent.”

In the final main event of the summer, Carpenter, of Parkersburg, WV, took his No. 28 machine to the front and scored his first career Summer Nationals win after nearly six years of trying, leading the final 21 laps around the 3/8-mile oval to secure the big check.

“This win definitely ranks toward the top, and the biggest thing is it’s just for the fact that it’s such an established deal,” Carpenter said. “The Hell Tour is well known and there are a lot of eyes on it. It’s just so cool for my team and I to come out here. We’ve been trying to come win this race for two or three years and we’ve always had speed, but it just never panned out.”

The finale of the Summer Nationals’ 40th anniversary season kicked off with Ohio natives Eric Wilson and Lincoln Smith leading the field to green. The No. 217 of Wilson rocketed around Smith in Turns 1 and 2 and led the opening lap.

A Lap 7 caution for a slowing Todd Brennan bunched the field up and allowed for a showcase of speed and precision to commence around the Ohio oval.

The restart saw Ryan Montgomery throw a slide job on Wilson for the lead in Turn 2, but the No. 217 machine crossed back underneath to retain the top spot. Behind the two leaders was Carpenter, waiting for an opportunity. That opportunity soon presented itself, as he went for a slider in Turns 3 and 4, clearing both Wilson and Montgomery.

The lead trio went three wide exiting Turn 4 with race-long leader Wilson taking the point at the stripe once again. The three-car show continued as Montgomery led Lap 9 but Carpenter rolled to the inside of both again, clearing and taking the lead at the exit of Turn 2, but a caution for Montgomery slowing negated the pass.

Carpenter took the lead for good on the Lap 9 restart and led the final 21 laps unchallenged to bank his first career Summer Nationals victory.

“This kind of style of racetrack I was raised on,” Carpenter said. “I was trying to focus hard on where I needed to be or where would be the best spot before we ever took the initial green. Once I took the lead, I felt I was really confident then because I could just try and enter above the rough in Turns 1 and 2. There really wasn’t room so you had to enter straight, get your right front on the guardrail and then you could just lay the hammer down all the way across.”

Wilson finished second, J.R. Gentry rebounded from flipping in Qualifying to finish third, Montgomery was fourth, and Kyle Moore rounded out the top five.

Dalton Lane Returns to Summit Modified Victory Lane at Wayne County

He’s waited nearly three years, but Dalton Lane is back in Victory Lane with the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals.

Lane scored the win with the Summit Modifieds Sunday night at Wayne County Speedway for the second time in his career and the first since breaking through at Oakshade Raceway in 2023.

The Feature began with Matthew Baker taking the early lead over Kyle Moore. A caution for a slowing Jason King restacked the field for a restart on Lap 2.

The restart was where Baker began to take fire from Moore as the local favorite went for a slide job maneuver in Turns 3–4 that ended with both drivers scrubbing the outside wall. While both drivers were able to straighten out, Baker came away with damage to the nose of his No. B5 car and began to fall back. This opened the door for Lane to move into second and set his sights on Moore, still leading the race.

A Lap 7 caution for Ryan Markham slowing created another opportunity for a restart. Moore pulled away while Lane found himself in a battle for second as Nathan Loney made a bid for that position to his inside.

The race then turned on its head as Moore’s No. 21D slowed on the backstretch on Lap 13, turning what was the battle for second between Lane and Loney into the battle for the win. Over the next 10 laps, the two ran neck-and-neck for the top spot — Lane ripping the top side around the track and Loney riding the bottom.

Their battle reached a boiling point on Lap 22, crossing the stripe in a dead-heat tie. But with momentum from a great run off the top side in Turn 2, Lane charged ahead of Loney and led the field back around to the checkers.

“We put together a great night, we started off a little slow in Qualifying and we made that up all night,” Lane said. “A place like this, right around the wall like that where you can just get after it, really fits my driving style. So, it just came to us tonight. There really was nothing left on the bottom so all I had left was just to get up there and pound the cushion for 25 laps.”

Loney finished second, Dusty Swecker was third, Andre Layfield finished fourth, and Jimmy Lennex Jr finished in fifth.

July 12th, 2026 – Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA secured their first podium finish of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo, with Will Stevens and the No. 12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R taking the checkered flag in P3. Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA had locked out the front row of the grid at Interlagos, with the No.12 in pole position and the No.38 in P2. Both cars made a clean start and held position. The first pitstop proved to be unlucky for Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, with the No.12 experiencing a stuck wheel nut and the No.38 being slightly out of position when entering the box. Having lost almost 20 seconds each, both cars returned to the track and fought hard to make up track position. Both cars recovered well and made good progress through the field. In the final hour, the cars were running P3 and P4 and pushing for P2. However, the No.38’s earlier 5-second penalty (for contact with another car) was added post-race, and late mist in the final 30 minutes, prevented any further gain on the second-place. TEXARKANA, AR (July 11, 2026) — Fireworks sprouted the American Sprint Car Series visit to Texarkana 67 Speedway for the Ralph Henson Memorial, and it was Seth Bergman who shone brightest.

The Snohomish, WA driver became the first to score three Feature victories in the 2026 season, with a dogfight between his two championship adversaries through 30 laps at the 1/4-mile bullring Saturday night.

Brady Baker and Matt Covington set the front row, with Baker taking the lead on the opening circuit. On the second lap, Covington drove to the bottom in Turn 1 but slid up and made contact with Baker, resulting in race-ending damage to the No. 71 and making Covington the new leader. 

On the restart, Covington used the cushion while Bergman and Sam Hafertepe Jr. followed in tow around the bottom lane. Bergman had the advantage over Covington, which propelled him to the lead. Hafertepe followed Bergman’s tracks around the bottom and got ahead of the No. 95 on Lap 4.

Bergman continued to use the bottom as Hafertepe shifted his line to the top side, but both drivers remained equal in distance until lap traffic arrived on Lap 10. Bergman moved to the cushion to avoid lapped cars in his line as Hafertepe closed within 0.5 seconds of the lead.

Throughout the run, the two drivers remained glued to the cushion until the final caution was flown on Lap 24, stacking the field for a six-lap dash to the twin checkered flags.

Bergman aced the restart as Hafertepe worked to protect his runner-up position. The Oklahoma Chillers No. 23 Triple X Chassis drove away to a 2.4-second gap, scoring his first win in the Ralph Henson Memorial and tying Shane Stewart for eighth on the all-time National Tour wins list.

“It was technical, but this place is one badass racetrack,” Bergman said. “We were just really good, and it’s the Ralph Henson Memorial, and I’m probably one of the only guys in the field that actually ran against Ralph. It’s a great family, and I’m honored to win this race in his honor.

“This car here lately, we’ve been hitting on some things, and I think it shows. We have a really good piece, and we’ve been struggling. I just couldn’t be happier with the feels that the car’s been giving me. I can act like a race car driver, get out there, make decisions, and win races.”

With Hafertepe finishing second and Covington third, the Sunnyvale, TX pilot retook the points lead by five markers. Rookie Cole Schroeder earned his first career top-five finish in the Series with a fourth-place finish, and Kyler Johnson worked up eight positions to round out the top five and earn the Hard Charger award.

Haudenschild continues recent hot streak with another win ahead of a huge week in his home state

WILMOT, WI (July 11, 2026) – Sprint Car racing doesn’t get much better than Saturday night at Wilmot Raceway.

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series rolled into the Wisconsin track for the O’Reilly Auto Parts presents the Larry Hillerud Memorial finale and gave the fans a night they won’t forget.

Sheldon Haudenschild and Garet Williamson lined up on the front row, and the two put on an absolute show. Williamson fired off better from the outside in the Fischer Motorsports No. 23 and took command early in search of his first World of Outlaws win. The KCP Racing/NOS Energy Drink No. 18 stalked Williamson throughout much of the race, matching his every move in traffic and waiting for the right chance to pounce.

The time came with about five laps remaining as Haudenschild pulled alongside Williamson to show him a nose. Haudenschild pulled the trigger on a slider a lap later, but Williamson countered with a crossover. It didn’t take long for Haudenschild to come back with another slide job to take the lead coming to two laps to go. Williamson responded by hammering the cushion in Turns 1 and 2 to take the spot back. Haudenschild wrestled the top spot back by ripping the top in the next set of corners. That proved to be the winning move as Williamson couldn’t find a lane to take a shot on the final lap, and Haudenschild came out on top of a thriller.

“Garet does such a great job,” said a humble Haudenschild. “Him and Chaddy (Chad Cypert), they’ve been so good all year and I think a little overlooked honestly. They’ve been right there every night. They qualify well. Garet does a great job. Man, he did such a good job that whole race, and I was kind of in the cat-bird seat. I was able to see where he was going and move around. I think I had him guessing a little bit. He slid across the track down there. When he ran the top in (Turns) 3 and 4, he was kind of just going up a little bit, and I was able to throw a slider right there and be able to protect it.”

Haudenschild and KCP continue to be the hottest team in the sport with four victories in the last seven races. They’ve also collected 10 podiums in the last 12 Features. Haudenschild’s 52nd career World of Outlaws win gives him sole possession of 18th all time, and he’s now just 20 behind his father Jac Haudenschild in the record books. Wilmot becomes the 31st different track where the Wooster, OH native has won with The Greatest Show on Dirt. All the momentum is on Haudenschild’s side as the tour heads to his home state for to major events.

Williamson held onto second after the fierce battle with Haudenschild, his ninth consecutive Series top 10 and fifth top five over that stretch.

David Gravel brought the Big Game Motorsports No. 2 home third for his third straight trip to the podium.

BADGER STATE BATTLE: Haudenschild Bests Williamson in Wilmot Race of the Year Candidate

Haudenschild continues recent hot streak with another win ahead of a huge week in his home state

WILMOT, WI (July 11, 2026) – Sprint Car racing doesn’t get much better than Saturday night at Wilmot Raceway.

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series rolled into the Wisconsin track for the O’Reilly Auto Parts presents the Larry Hillerud Memorial finale and gave the fans a night they won’t forget.

Sheldon Haudenschild and Garet Williamson lined up on the front row, and the two put on an absolute show. Williamson fired off better from the outside in the Fischer Motorsports No. 23 and took command early in search of his first World of Outlaws win. The KCP Racing/NOS Energy Drink No. 18 stalked Williamson throughout much of the race, matching his every move in traffic and waiting for the right chance to pounce.

The time came with about five laps remaining as Haudenschild pulled alongside Williamson to show him a nose. Haudenschild pulled the trigger on a slider a lap later, but Williamson countered with a crossover. It didn’t take long for Haudenschild to come back with another slide job to take the lead coming to two laps to go. Williamson responded by hammering the cushion in Turns 1 and 2 to take the spot back. Haudenschild wrestled the top spot back by ripping the top in the next set of corners. That proved to be the winning move as Williamson couldn’t find a lane to take a shot on the final lap, and Haudenschild came out on top of a thriller.

“Garet does such a great job,” said a humble Haudenschild. “Him and Chaddy (Chad Cypert), they’ve been so good all year and I think a little overlooked honestly. They’ve been right there every night. They qualify well. Garet does a great job. Man, he did such a good job that whole race, and I was kind of in the cat-bird seat. I was able to see where he was going and move around. I think I had him guessing a little bit. He slid across the track down there. When he ran the top in (Turns) 3 and 4, he was kind of just going up a little bit, and I was able to throw a slider right there and be able to protect it.”

Haudenschild and KCP continue to be the hottest team in the sport with four victories in the last seven races. They’ve also collected 10 podiums in the last 12 Features. Haudenschild’s 52nd career World of Outlaws win gives him sole possession of 18th all time, and he’s now just 20 behind his father Jac Haudenschild in the record books. Wilmot becomes the 31st different track where the Wooster, OH native has won with The Greatest Show on Dirt. All the momentum is on Haudenschild’s side as the tour heads to his home state for to major events.

Williamson held onto second after the fierce battle with Haudenschild, his ninth consecutive Series top 10 and fifth top five over that stretch.

David Gravel brought the Big Game Motorsports No. 2 home third for his third straight trip to the podium.

Spencer Bayston and Logan Schuchart completed the top five.

WAUSEON, OH (July 11, 2026) — Two days after celebrating a birthday of his own, Frank Heckenast Jr. got one of his biggest presents of the summer — a $10,000 check as victor of the 29th annual Birthday Race.

The Frankfort, IL-native led all 50 laps around Oakshade Raceway Saturday night, garnering his third DIRTcar Summer Nationals victory of the season and eighth of his career. After struggling early during the Hell Tour, Heckenast is closing the tour with momentum, earning all three of his wins in a span of 11 days.

“We’ve been fortunate. I won an Outlaw race on my birthday probably five years ago, so that was cool, but this means a lot,” Heckenast said. “This was so emotional for me. It was hard. I’ve tried for so long to win this race, and I’ve gotten beat so many times at this place. I’ve started up front before, and they went by me on both sides. I was in my head tonight. I don’t usually talk to myself when I’m racing, but tonight I did. I told myself, ‘Just make the best lap you can.’ I tried to build speed, and it worked out.”

Heckenast capitalized on his pole starting position and took control early. After starting fourth, Ryan Unzicker moved into third before a Lap 3 caution allowed his No. 24 to pull alongside Sam Seawright for second on the restart.

Seawright and Unzicker battled hard for second, giving Heckenast room to extend his lead. Unzicker found traction through the middle and drove around Seawright in Turns 1 and 2, moving the El Paso, IL-driver into the runner-up spot.

As the race neared halfway, lapped traffic became a factor. Unzicker closed to within a car length of Heckenast before a Lap 23 caution for a spun Mark Voigt paused the battle for the lead and gave Heckenast a clear track ahead for the restart.

Over the final 27 laps, Heckenast ran consistent laps and maintained a comfortable lead to secure his first Birthday Race win at Oakshade.

“Today was just 100% us, I got a little sideways in my head about stuff. It’s not major but the crew got me straightened out and gave me the confidence to go win the race,” Heckenast said. “I hate to admit it, but I’ve let so many people get in my head. Other racers, people and just things like that. They try every night and, you know, shout out to Logan, my crew guy, he pulled me aside and told me to just do my own thing and stop listening to these people. I want to tell my boys that you don’t quit, you don’t give up, don’t let other people bully you around.”

Unzicker finished second, Seawright was third, Rusty Schlenk finished fourth, and Luke Morey rounded out the top five.

Zeke McKenzie Gets Third Career Summit Modifieds Win at Oakshade

While others have flashed speed on occasion, Zeke McKenzie has been a model of consistency with the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals this summer.

On Saturday night, that consistency turned into a win at Oakshade Raceway.

McKenzie has been a familiar face with the Summit Modifieds in 2026, logging 17 starts — most of any competitor. Now in the final full week of competition, the Claypool, IN-driver has yet to finish outside the top ten. That consistency has put him in position for wins and the season points championship.

“When you run in the top five and get podiums, the wins are going to come,” McKenzie said. “I know we don’t have the wins but they’re definitely coming the rest of the year, and I feel our cars are good enough to win almost every night, we just have to put more nights together.”

The beginning of the main event kicked off with the front row of Jerry Bowersock and Drew Charlson tangling in Turn 3, ending both their chances for victory. This moved McKenzie and Mathew Baker to the front row in a brand-new race up front for the restart.

Baker led the field into Turn 1 on the restart, but McKenzie found traction in the middle of Turns 1 and 2, got around the Baker No. B5 and began to pull away.

A Lap 14 caution bunched the field up and took McKenzie out of lap traffic, allowing him to set sail out front for the rest of the race. He crossed under the checkered flag unchallenged to secure his third career Summit Modified victory, continuing a dream season for the No. 24 team.

“We started out planning on only doing the first week to help some customers and we ran really good,” McKenzie said. “We actually had to go find a little help to do the whole thing because it just wasn’t on our schedule. Tonight, we saw guys not be forgiving and I was just fortunate enough to not get into them.”

Matthew Baker was second, Dillon Nusbaum was third, John McClure finished fourth, and Dylan Woodling finished fifth.

HARTFORD, OH (July 11, 2026) – Sharon Speedway has turned into Bobby Pierce‘s personal ATM.The two-time champion of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision needed a few tries to crack the code at the Hartford, OH oval, but ever since he did, he’s been nearly unstoppable. His first two Sharon wins came in a weekend sweep of the 2024 Battle at the Border. He made it three in a row in the Friday portion of the 2025 event and was in position on Saturday for another sweep until Mike Marlar got around him.A Friday rainout in 2026 meant Pierce only had one chance at a Sharon trophy this season, and he seized the opportunity to win for the fourth time at Sharon and the 17th time this season in World of Outlaws competition.The first third of the race had Nick Hoffman out front as he tried to get back to Victory Lane for the first time in more than a month and put a dent in Pierce’s points lead. But Pierce was right behind him keeping the pressure on, forcing Hoffman to make the right moves once traffic became a factor.When Hoffman drifted too high in Turn 2 and bounced on the cushion, Pierce was right there on the bottom ready to pounce. The pair drag raced down the backstretch before Pierce threw the slider in Turn 3 that moved him into the lead and ultimately won him the race. It was another dominant performance from Pierce the rest of the way, as he avoided any serious challenges to claim the 59th World of Outlaws win of his career.“Earlier tonight, we were trying to find the balance,” Pierce said. “In the Feature, the car felt really balanced and really good. A couple tweaks we made throughout the night really helped. As I mentioned in the Redraw, the tire choice here is a really big thing. When we dropped the green flag, the top four cars all had completely different tires on them. It just goes to show that this racetrack gets really good when it’s like that because you never know what to do. I mean, I’ve won here on all sorts of different tire compounds, so I don’t really think that’s what won us the race, but I think we made the right call there.”Hoffman and Ryan Gustin went back and forth for second throughout the Feature, but Hoffman prevailed at the end over Gustin in third. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 11, 2026) – Pennsylvania transplant Briar Bauman (No. 3 Super.com/RWR/Rocket Doctor Harley-Davidson XG750R) chalked up his seventh successive victory in the state in Saturday’s Appalachian Harley-Davidson Williams Grove Half-Mile, Round 11 of 2026 Progressive American Flat Track season, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing.  The triumph was Bauman’s fifth straight at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, in particular, but the streak that dates all the way back to 2018 was put to the test on this evening.  Two minutes into the ten-minute and two-lap Mission AFT SuperTwins Main, Kody Kopp (No. 12 Latus Motors Racing Harley-Davidson XG750R) slung underneath Bauman to take over second. An instant later, Bauman not only squared up Kopp but also lunged ahead of Dallas Daniels (No. 1 Estenson Racing Yamaha MT-07) to grab control of the lead.  The remainder of the race was a tense affair with Daniels consistently a half-second or so back, sizing up Bauman all throughout while mapping out a potential last-lap strike.  And that bid nearly came through. On the final lap, Daniels executed off a near-textbook slide-job, slashing just ahead of Bauman as they exited Turn 2.  However, Daniels provided Bauman just enough space to squeeze back through. Bauman then managed to keep the Yamaha pilot corralled behind him as they negotiated Turns 3 and 4. The subsequent drag race to the checkered flag saw Bauman hold on by a mere 0.077 seconds at the stripe.  The win marked the 40th of Bauman’s premier-class career, making him just the fifth rider to ever achieve that number, joining legends Scott Parker, Jared Mees, Chris Carr, and Jay Springsteen.  But the victorious Rick Ware Racing ace didn’t want to talk about himself after the race. He said, “I don’t think I deserve tonight to talk about my race; I think tonight was in honor of Dan Bromley. There was a family who lost a husband, a son, a father… all of the above. We’re standing in his home state of Pennsylvania. I had a good race, but that’s not what it’s about tonight. I felt like we did an incredible job honoring Dan.”  Title leader Kopp saw his advantage narrowed that much further, as Davis Fisher (No. 67 Rackley Racing/Bob Lanphere’s BMC Racing KTM 790 Duke) rebounded from what nearly proved a disastrous start to overhaul Kopp and collect his third podium finish in a row.  Bender picked up fifth less than a half-second behind Kopp, while Trent Lowe (No. 48 American Honda/Mission Foods Honda CB750 Hornet) claimed his second straight sixth.   Aidan RoosEvans (No. 26 FRA Trust Advisors Harley-Davidson XG750R) raced his way up from up from a LQC grid slot to take seventh, while Chad Cose (No. 49 Parker Racing/Pro Roofing Yamaha MT-07), Hunter Bauer (No. 24 G&G Racing Yamaha MT-07), and Dalton Gauthier (No. 79 Moto Anatomy X Powered by Royal Enfield 650) rounded out the top ten.  With just five races left to decide the Grand National Championship, Kopp leads by just three points over Daniels (206-203) and eleven over Bauman (195).   KICKER AFT SinglesThe domination train of KICKER AFT Singles champion Tom Drane (No. 1 Estenson Racing Yamaha YZ450) chugged on, as the Australian railed his way to a fifth consecutive victory in breakaway style.  Drane figured to be in for a fight, as archrival Chase Saathoff (No. 88 1st Impressions Race Team Husqvarna FC450) had the pace for much of the day. However, come the Main Event, Drane dove under holeshotter Bradon Pfanders (No. 83 Memphis Shades/Corbin Seats Yamaha YZ450F) and opened up a gap as early as the end of lap 1.   Even after Saathoff moved into second on the following lap, Drane continued to pile it up, upping his advantage to more than four seconds by the time he claimed his seventh victory of 2026.  Drane said, “I had a little look behind a bit over halfway through and saw I had a good gap. I decided to try to get some faster laps and push all the way to the end, which I was able to do. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my whole Estenson Racing Monster Energy Yamaha team.”  While no match for Drane, Saathoff was that much better than the rest of the field, running a very lonely race to second – his third such finish in a row and his sixth podium in his last seven starts.  Local hero Logan Eisenhard (No. 66 Eisenhard Racing/Pags Powersports KTM 450 SXF) emerged from the pack to secure third, the Pennsylvanian celebrating a popular maiden Progressive AFT podium in front of the home crowd.  He was followed by Jared Lowe (No. 63 Big R Racing/Vinson Construction Honda CRF450R), who too finished with a gap in front and back to conclude a processional top four.  Fifth, however, was another story entirely, as four riders went to the wire in a huge scrap for the position. The spot ultimately went to Tarren Santero (No. 75 Roof Systems/Texas Utility Studies/Vinson Construction Honda CRF450R), who scrapped his way forward from the bottom of top ten to finish just ahead of early leader Pfanders.  Evan Kelleher (No. 31 Schaeffer’s Motorsports KTM 450 SX-F) took seventh another 0.009 seconds back of Pfanders, while Walker Porter (No. 10 American Honda/Mission Foods CRF450R) and Trevor Brunner (No. 21 KMA Racing/March Equipment Yamaha YZ450F) came home eighth and ninth, respectively.   Dylan Cunningham (No. 252 Scott Stump/Joel Laub KTM 450 SX-F) joined Eisenhard and Pfanders to make it three Pennsylvanians in the top ten by finishing tenth.  Drane’s already massive lead was boosted up to 47 points over Saathoff (226-181). Kage Tadman (No. 28 American Honda/Mission Foods CRF450R), who finished 14th on the night, remains third with 153 points.  Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. (BTR)Madicela Rodriguez (No. 113 Royal Enfield/Parts Unlimited/Arai/Alpinestars) closed out the 2026 Build.Train.Race. He was just ahead of teammate Nicky Catsburg, who will start alongside in fourth.

The most frustrating thing is that Tommy (Milner) predicted I would be third and I called BS. But he was actually right so that’s really frustrating! Jack Aitken: “It was a really strong set of free practice sessions for us. We have been working through practice to fine tune the balance and try and get the car into the best possible window. The field is very, very tight here.  The tiny margin of difference in qualifying between the top five cars shows that every little counts. LOCUST GROVE, AR (July 10, 2026) — Matt Covington is not going to let a chance at his first American Sprint Car Series title slip away.

The Glenpool, OK racer took his first National Tour win at Batesville Motor Speedway in a 25-lap Feature that highlighted major points implications at the top.

As Covington started the race from the inside of the second row, polesitter Sam Hafertepe Jr. took the lead over Brady Baker as Covington and Seth Bergman overtook Baker on Lap 2 to occupy the podium positions.

Through the first five laps, Hafertepe marched away from the two drivers by 1.8 seconds until lapped traffic came into his crosshairs.

With Hafertepe stuck in traffic, Covington and Bergman shredded the gap by 0.3 seconds each lap to catch him by Lap 10. Covington caught Hafertepe with momentum and reached for the inside of the No. 15H in Turn 3. Both drivers used every inch of racing room exiting Turn 4, but they made contact, sending Hafertepe into the wall and spinning across the frontstretch, prematurely ending the night as Covington took the lead.

On Lap 13, Bergman suffered a flat right-rear tire, which forced him into the pits and squandered his hopes of a third Series win in 2026. With Hafertepe and Bergman out of contention, Covington had to face Christopher Townsend and Whit Gastineau for the remaining 12 laps around the 3/8-mile oval.

Covington’s No. 95 Triple X Chassis flew away with the lead around the bottom lane while Townsend and Gastineau attempted different lines to gain an edge. Covington ran away to a 2.3-second gap by Lap 19, only to be gridlocked in lap traffic. Then, it was Townsend and Gastineau’s turn to chase down the leader, recing within one second of the back of Covington’s machine until the final caution waved on Lap 22.

In the remaining three laps, Covington scurried away from Townsend and Gastineau to lock up his 24th career Series win – tying 2015 champion Aaron Reutzel for 12th on the all-time wins list.

“My vantage point was that I thought I had room, and I thought I could stay off (Hafertepe),” Covington said. “That’s the last guy I want to run into on the racetrack. Sam, as fast as he is and as many races he wins, he’s the cleanest guy I know that’s been out here. I’m just real happy about tonight, other than making some contact. It looked like it tore Sam’s stuff up pretty good, so a bad night in that regard, but a good night to finish on top.”

Leaving the night at Batesville, Covington became the new Series points leader by two points over Hafertepe and 64 markers in front of Bergman. 

Townsend finished second for a career high on the National Tour, and Gastineau cemented the Friday podium in his first visit to the facility. Baker finished fourth, and sophomore racer Ryder LaPlante made up the night’s top five finishers.

CRYSTAL, MI (July 11, 2026) – A two-year winless drought is tough on anyone, but for Ryan Unzicker, it felt like an eternity.

The El Paso, IL native put that to an end Friday night at Crystal Motor Speedway with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, leading all 40 laps to pick up the $10,000 check and his first Series win since Spoon River Speedway in 2024.

“I’m pumped to be back in Victory Lane; it has been way too long,” Unzicker said. “Momentum is huge; you have to have confidence in racing. We had great momentum up until two weeks ago, and then I decided to park the equipment and regroup. I was scared to have the momentum lost, but we picked right back up where we left off, and just having that little bit of a break felt good.”

The main event kicked off with Unzicker launching to the lead from the pole, leaving outside polesitter Devin Shiels to battle with points leader Tanner English for second.

English took second rolling the bottom in Turns 1 and 2 and then tried to put pressure on Unzicker, but the No. 24 machine was stronger around the middle lane in Turns 3 and 4.

Lap traffic became a factor on Lap 8, giving English an opportunity to chip into Unzicker’s 1.3-second advantage. But a caution one lap later for a spun Mitch McGrath helped put Unzicker back in clean air once the race resumed.

The No. 24 built another impressive lead until lap traffic returned on Lap 21, giving English another opportunity to close. However, Unzicker never allowed him the opportunity. He led every lap to the checkered flag, becoming the third different winner in the Series’ three appearances at the Crystal, MI oval.

He is also now tied with Jeep Van Wormer for 13th on the overall wins list.

“Starting on the front row is a big point of it. Last night, I felt like if we started on the front row, we had a good shot for the win,” Unzicker said. “The track was definitely challenging tonight, and just finding a smooth line was difficult. I feel like my car all year long has been accepting to a little bit of choppy and a little bit of rough, and it just feels really good right now when it’s like that.

“I knew we had a good car; I knew we had a chance, and it’s just one of those deals where you hope you make the right decisions. We put on a hard tire, and a lot of them went on with threes (NLMT tire). I don’t know if that hurt them, but mine felt really good after we fired after five laps.”

English maintained second, extending his Week 5 points lead – currently 50 points ahead of Luke Morey – Frank Heckenast Jr. finished third, Shiels finished fourth, and Morey rounded out the top five.

Nusbaum Outduels McKenzie For First Career Summit Modified Triumph at Crystal

Dillon Nusbaum has been on the verge of his first DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals victory all week. On Friday night at Crystal Motor Speedway, he finally scored.

After finishing third, fourth, and second, respectively, in the first three races of Week 5 of the Hell Tour, the Warsaw, IN driver won a 25-lap brawl against his neighbor and current Series points leader Zeke McKenzie to earn his first Series win.

“There’s a lot of prestige that comes with winning a Summer Nationals race, and we’ve been trying for several years now,” Nusbaum said. “We don’t get to travel a whole lot or run a whole lot of the schedule, but we try and hit at least this swing that’s up here by us.”

The beginning stages of the main event saw front-row starters, Nusbaum and McKenzie, exchange the lead multiple times, trading sliders around the 3/8-mile dirt track. Nusbaum led the opening lap before McKenzie led Lap 2 as he drove around an attempted slider by the No. 17N of Nusbaum.

Nusbaum threw another slider in Turn 4, clearing McKenzie’s No. 24 car, giving him the lead back on Lap 3. McKenzie abandoned the top and ran the bottom in an attempt to get around Nusbaum, but it wasn’t enough as Nusbaum led the final 24 laps to become the newest first-time winner with the Series.

“I knew I had to get out in front of him there and kind of set the pace myself,” Nusbaum said. “Honestly, once I got out in front of him, I almost backed the pace down a little but just to kind save equipment. I didn’t want to catch lap cars any quicker than I had too. It was a lot of fun throwing haymakers back and forth with Zeke (McKenzie) there at the beginning. It’s a lot of fun when you can race with somebody that close and that hard, I don’t think we touched a single time.”

McKenzie finished second, John Toppozini finished third, his first career Series podium, Todd Sherman was fourth, and Brennan Sherman was fifth.

Ryan Unzicker Returns to Summer Nationals Victory Lane at Crystal

CRYSTAL, MI (July 11, 2026) – A two-year winless drought is tough on anyone, but for Ryan Unzicker, it felt like an eternity.

“Starting on the front row is a big point of it. Last night, I felt like if we started on the front row, we had a good shot for the win,” Unzicker said. “The track was definitely challenging tonight, and just finding a smooth line was difficult. I feel like my car all year long has been accepting to a little bit of choppy and a little bit of rough, and it just feels really good right now when it’s like that.

“I knew we had a good car; I knew we had a chance, and it’s just one of those deals where you hope you make the right decisions. We put on a hard tire, and a lot of them went on with threes (NLMT tire). I don’t know if that hurt them, but mine felt really good after we fired after five laps.”

English maintained second, extending his Week 5 points lead – currently 50 points ahead of Luke Morey – Frank Heckenast Jr. finished third, Shiels finished fourth, and Morey rounded out the top five.

Nusbaum Outduels McKenzie For First Career Summit Modified Triumph at Crystal

Dillon Nusbaum has been on the verge of his first DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals victory all week. On Friday night at Crystal Motor Speedway, he finally scored.

After finishing third, fourth, and second, respectively, in the first three races of Week 5 of the Hell Tour, the Warsaw, IN driver won a 25-lap brawl against his neighbor and current Series points leader Zeke McKenzie to earn his first Series win.

“There’s a lot of prestige that comes with winning a Summer Nationals race, and we’ve been trying for several years now,” Nusbaum said. “We don’t get to travel a whole lot or run a whole lot of the schedule, but we try and hit at least this swing that’s up here by us.”

The beginning stages of the main event saw front-row starters, Nusbaum and McKenzie, exchange the lead multiple times, trading sliders around the 3/8-mile dirt track. Nusbaum led the opening lap before McKenzie led Lap 2 as he drove around an attempted slider by the No. 17N of Nusbaum.

Nusbaum threw another slider in Turn 4, clearing McKenzie’s No. 24 car, giving him the lead back on Lap 3. McKenzie abandoned the top and ran the bottom in an attempt to get around Nusbaum, but it wasn’t enough as Nusbaum led the final 24 laps to become the newest first-time winner with the Series.

“I knew I had to get out in front of him there and kind of set the pace myself,” Nusbaum said. “Honestly, once I got out in front of him, I almost backed the pace down a little but just to kind save equipment. I didn’t want to catch lap cars any quicker than I had too. It was a lot of fun throwing haymakers back and forth with Zeke (McKenzie) there at the beginning. It’s a lot of fun when you can race with somebody that close and that hard, I don’t think we touched a single time.”

McKenzie finished second, John Toppozini finished third, his first career Series podium, Todd Sherman was fourth, and Brennan Sherman was fifth.

Homegrown Hero: McCowan Earns First Career Lucas Oil Victory at Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, Mo. (July 10, 2026) – Dillon McCowan scored the biggest victory of his racing career in front of his hometown crowd Friday night at Lucas Oil Speedway, capturing the inaugural Salute to Forrest Lucas and earning his first career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory. The two-time Lucas Oil Speedway Modified track champion, who grew up racing at the Wheatland facility, became the 95th different winner in series history. McCowan collected the $15,000 winner’s purse along with an additional $1,000 bonus from Steering Buddy. McCowan took the lead on lap 29 from fellow O’Reilly Auto Parts Rookie of the Year contender Josh Rice and pulled away over the closing laps to win by 2.104 seconds. Rice finished second, while Jonathan Davenport completed the Big River Steel Podium in third. Chase Junghans finished fourth, followed by Hudson O’Neal in fifth. O’Neal’s fifth-place finish, combined with Brandon Sheppard’s 16th-place result after entering the night as the series points leader, leaves the two drivers tied atop the championship standings heading into Saturday night’s CMH Diamond Nationals finale. McCowan, a native of Urbana, Missouri, became the race’s third different leader before celebrating an emotional victory lane interview in front of a cheering hometown crowd. “I have tried my whole life to do this right here. It’s the only thing I ever wanted in my life, to win a Lucas Oil feature over here. I used to sit right up there in those stands and watch every feature every Saturday night. I honestly can’t put it into words. This is unreal,” said the 22-year-old, who lives approximately 20 minutes from Lucas Oil Speedway. “I joked with my dad that we just may retire if we ever win one of these things over here. I can’t explain it. Nobody knows the hours we spend in the shop or what we have overcome to get here. I can’t thank everybody enough. My mom and dad have sacrificed so much for us to be out here on the road, and for my dad to be with me. This is a dream come true.” McCowan admitted the closing laps were anything but comfortable. “I could tell my right rear was getting hot. I started to feel a heck of a vibration. I took the lead, and when I saw there were five laps to go, I said, ‘The heck with it, we’ll burn it down.’ This place has been my rock. We’ve been coming over here every Saturday night since I was 15 years old trying to win these feature races. It’s such a blessing to race at such a beautiful facility and for everything the Lucas family has done for this place and for motorsports in general.” Rice, who won the Cowboy Classic at Lucas Oil Speedway in May, led a race-high 23 laps after taking the lead from Davenport on lap five. Contact with the wall in turns three and four ultimately cost him the lead. “I remember my first Lucas Oil win at Florence, so it was pretty cool to see him (McCowan) win that. I slid up there and thought I barely hit the fence, but I guess my spoiler caught the catch fence just right. I knew he was right there. I wish we could have raced it out because he did a heck of a job. He stayed right there the whole time and pressured me just enough that I got into the fence. That’s just part of it, I guess. It’s cool for us to run second, but obviously you want to win.” Davenport, who led the opening five laps, challenged Rice for second during the closing stages but settled for third. “No doubt these young guys are tough to run with. Congratulations to McCowan. That’s awesome. Getting your first win here when you’re from this area makes it even more special. I guess I just wasn’t driving hard enough. We all had the same tire, and I felt like my car was pretty decent. I ran the top one lap before that caution came out, and it was a little slimy up there. I stayed on the bottom too long. The winningest driver this season fends off a challenge from Cole Macedo for his ninth victory in 2026

WILMOT, WI (July 10, 2026) – Running second can get old fast.

It’s one spot away from victory and all that comes with it. It’s watching someone else celebrate while being left to wonder how to be one position better. It’s not a preferable place to continually wind up, especially for a driver and team accustomed to winning as often as Michael “Buddy” Kofoid and Roth Motorsports.

Entering Friday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts presented the Larry Hillerud Memorial opener at Wilmot Raceway, Kofoid had collected three consecutive runner-up finishes. He also led the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series in victories this season with eight and was hungry to put the Toyota Racing No. 83 back in Victory Lane. Consider that hunger satisfied.

The Penngrove, CA native started on the pole for Friday’s 35-lapper and nearly led the entire way. Series sophomore Cole Macedo surged to give him a fight and took the top spot for two laps, but Kofoid quickly rallied to snatch it back. Two-time and defending World of Outlaws champion David Gravel climbed to second in the closing laps, but it was too little too late as Kofoid got to the checkered flag before he had a shot to make a move.

“I don’t even know how I did it, but I blasted the backstretch wall going into (Turn) 3 and knocked the (Jacob’s) ladder out when Cole passed me and was just kind of hanging on there at the end,” Kofoid explained. “I just think keeping the restarts unpredictable definitely helps. Dylan (Buswell), Nate (Knotts), and Gage (Tyra) did a great job all day today. It’s nice to have a good day start to finish again, and I owe it all to them. This isn’t an easy place to get comfortable at, and they did just that for me. Can’t do it without them and, of course, Dennis and Teresa Roth.”

Kofoid upped his lead as the season’s winningest driver with his ninth triumph of 2026. It was also his second in a row at Wilmot, putting him alongside David Gravel (four), Carson Macedo (three), and Donny Schatz (two) as multi-time winners at the Wisconsin oval. The 24-year-old is up to 31 career victories with The Greatest Show on Dirt, making him the 24th winningest driver in Series history. Kofoid also chipped away ever so slightly into David Gravel’s championship lead, narrowing the margin between the two to 80 markers.

The reason Kofoid couldn’t cut more into the difference is Gravel charged from seventh to a runner-up result, his 18th podium of the year in the Big Game Motorsports No. 2.

Sheldon Haudenschild stole third coming to the checkered flag to collect his ninth podium in the last 11 races with the KCP Racing crew.

Cole Macedo and Logan Schuchart completed the top five.

Series sophomore Cole Macedo surged to give him a fight and took the top spot for two laps, but Kofoid quickly rallied to snatch it back. Two-time and defending World of Outlaws champion David Gravel climbed to second in the closing laps, but it was too little too late as Kofoid got to the checkered flag before he had a shot to make a move.

“I don’t even know how I did it, but I blasted the backstretch wall going into (Turn) 3 and knocked the (Jacob’s) ladder out when Cole passed me and was just kind of hanging on there at the end,” Kofoid explained. “I just think keeping the restarts unpredictable definitely helps. Dylan (Buswell), Nate (Knotts), and Gage (Tyra) did a great job all day today. It’s nice to have a good day start to finish again, and I owe it all to them. This isn’t an easy place to get comfortable at, and they did just that for me. Can’t do it without them and, of course, Dennis and Teresa Roth.”

Kofoid upped his lead as the season’s winningest driver with his ninth triumph of 2026. It was also his second in a row at Wilmot, putting him alongside David Gravel (four), Carson Macedo (three), and Donny Schatz (two) as multi-time winners at the Wisconsin oval. The 24-year-old is up to 31 career victories with The Greatest Show on Dirt, making him the 24th winningest driver in Series history. Kofoid also chipped away ever so slightly into David Gravel’s championship lead, narrowing the margin between the two to 80 markers.

The reason Kofoid couldn’t cut more into the difference is Gravel charged from seventh to a runner-up result, his 18th podium of the year in the Big Game Motorsports No. 2.

Sheldon Haudenschild stole third coming to the checkered flag to collect his ninth podium in the last 11 races with the KCP Racing crew.

Cole Macedo and Logan Schuchart completed the top five.

Logan Julien won the Micro-Lite Last Chance Showdown.

Logan Schuchart moved from 11th to fifth to be the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger.

Spencer Bayston was the Tub O’ Towels Seventh Place Finisher.

Ashton Torgerson was the Five Star Bodies Rookie of the Race.

Buddy Kofoid clocked the ACME Trading Company Fast Lap.

The Smith Titanium Brake Systems Break of the Race went to Conner Morrell.
