Cade Dillard Gets First Career Summer Nationals Win at I-55

PEVELY, MO (June 20, 2026) — They say good things come to those who wait, and Cade Dillard has certainly waited a long time for this one.

Dillard, of Robeline, LA, has collected many wins across multiple different Late Model series in his career, as well as a host of victories in the Modified ranks before joining the national Late Model circuit in 2019. But coming into I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park Saturday night, he was determined to check another series off his to-win list.

For 40 laps, the 35-year-old paced the DIRTcar Summer Nationals field around the 1/3-mile high-banks, leading the main event flag-to-flag to score his first career victory on the Hell Tour.

Since his first appearance with the series in 2019, he’d come close to a win multiple times. But Saturday night was finally his time to shine in the summer heat.

“About four years ago at Spoon River (Speedway), we were leading one of these Hell Tour races, and I think with two laps-to-go, we had a pretty good lead. We broke a drive shaft, so that kind of stung ever since,” Dillard said. “I always thought it would be cool to win one of these, so I’m glad to get my name up there with so many good drivers on the wins list.”

The 40-lap Feature went green, and it was Dillard who got the jump on the opening lap, powering around the outside of polesitter Daryn Klein.

As the bottom became the preferred groove around I-55 toward the halfway point, the top six were nose-to-tail, waiting for a mistake from anyone ahead of them.

Klein stepped out and tried the top side on Lap 23 in an effort to try and make the pass, but Dillard held more speed on the bottom. Fourth-starting Shannon Babb later took a peek to Dillard’s inside on Lap 30, but again, Dillard held strong out front.

No one was able to make a serious bid for the lead the rest of the way as Dillard crossed the line and pocketed the $10,000 check.

“Anytime you get a win, it just helps the team morale and boost my confidence. I am pretty hard on myself, so a lot of times, I doubt myself,” Dillard said. “So just to get our confidence back up and get going onto the next race.”

Shannon Babb finished second, Tanner English finished third, Michael Leach in fourth, and Jason Feger rounded out the top five.

Hunt Gossum Scores Sixth Career Summit Modified Victory at I-55

In the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals’ first appearance in Missouri in 2026, Hunt Gossum brought his Kentucky-born skills to the track and dominated the main event Saturday night.

Gossum, 21, of Mayfield, KY, led all 25 circuits around the 1/3-mile oval of I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park, banking his sixth career series win over Michael Long and Chris Spalding.

Gossum got the jump on the initial start of the race, beating polesitter Rick Conoyer to the bottom lane in Turn 1. He found lap traffic on Lap 14, which allowed Spalding to close the gap to only a few tenths of a second as the race neared the halfway point. Spalding took his No. 29 up to the top side in search of a way by Gossum, but he was unable to find the grip he needed as Long raced by underneath to take the runner-up spot.

This allowed Gossum to stretch his lead once again and drive the field back around to the checkered flag to bank his first Summit Modified win since going to Victory Lane at Lincoln Speedway one year ago.

“It felt like a 100-lap race, I’m going to be honest,” Gossum said. “I got lucky enough to be on the front row. I don’t know if [Conoyer] spun his tires on the start, but I just went. I mean, my car launched and I just turned and got into the rubber.”

·        Shane van Gisbergen and the No. 97 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet team topped Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series qualifying session to earn the pole position for the Anduril 250 at the San Diego Street Course. The Auckland, New Zealand, native secured his second pole win of the season and his sixth overall in NASCAR’s top division by turning in a best lap of 134.788 seconds, at 90.809 mph, around the 3.4-mile circuit.
·        Spire Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar drove to his career-best qualifying effort on a road course this afternoon – landing second on the final speed chart to deliver the Bowtie brigade its third front-row sweep of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season.
·        Chevrolet drove to a statement performance in Saturday’s qualifying session with six drivers claiming a top-10 starting position for tomorrow’s 75-lap event. Daniel Suarez and Michael McDowell ended in the sixth and ninth positions, respectively, to give all three Spire Motorsports entries a top-10 qualifying effort. From your perspective, talk a little bit about your lap and really just how the track’s developed from yesterday to today and what you expect tomorrow.“Amazing to get the first pole here (at San Diego). Really cool. It’s tough, I’ve said it a couple of times. It’s your first lap of the day and there’s three, four, five corners you’re probably going through for the first time of the day as your qualifying lap starts. And yeah, I made a meal of it, but I guess the rest of the lap was pretty decent and made the time back. I’m sure everyone has the same story that there’s a lot of time left, but it’s cool to make the least mistakes, I guess (laughs).” Yesterday, I asked you about the level of risk-reward you were going to take in qualifying being in the first group. How hard did you push on that lap? And as you mentioned, it sounds like there’s still a little bit more to gain…“Yeah, it was hard. Normally, you get like a little indication of what people are going to do if you’re brave enough to wait. But it got to 10 minutes to go or eight minutes to go and no one had really done a lap, so I didn’t really know what level of grip there was going to be. That was quite difficult. I actually got behind Connor (Zilisch) and followed him, sort of referenced to him, and that gave me an indication of how I was going., I just tried to see where he braked and I just went a little bit deeper.” After what you said yesterday about feeling like the rest of the field was being disrespected by everyone kind of saying you’re the guy, I asked the rest of the field and they said, ‘no, no, no, you’re the guy and it’s okay for him to admit that’. Are you the favorite? Is it okay for you to be the favorite?“My long runs weren’t that great yesterday. The Nos. 5, 33 and 54 were faster than me yesterday, I believe. But my car is better today than yesterday, so who knows. We’re definitely in a good place to start and tomorrow will be a bit of a gamble and a lottery, I think, with the tires. It’s going to be hard for the crew chiefs and strategists to get it right tomorrow, for sure.” I asked you yesterday about some of the other sketchy racetracks that you’ve ran at. Now that you’ve had a full day and multiple sessions now, is this going to be the most challenging place, in terms of like the tire deg., the marbles, how narrow it is, or are there still worse?“Yeah, it’s different. It’s a lot lower grip than I expected, which means you’re not really hanging it out the whole time and pushing. I thought it would be more hitting the fences and pushing a lot more, but you’re really driving, especially on race runs, pretty slow and managing the tires. So that was a bit of a surprise. It was a lot slower than I thought it was going to be. I thought we’d be in the low teens, not high teens, in the race lap times, so that was a bit interesting. But yeah, I didn’t expect the tires to last four laps. We’ve got to do at least 10 tomorrow to make the stages and make the tires last, so it’s going to be very difficult.” I think Carson said yesterday that you guys had been racing a little bit leading up to this, and now he’s starting alongside you. He is a little bit of a risk taker, but do you feel like you have a good enough relationship that you could trust him coming into those first couple corners? “I mean, he took me out a couple of times in racing on the sim, so I hope he doesn’t do it tomorrow (laughs). But yeah, I know that he’s smart when he wants to be and in the right situations. I think he’s smarter than he makes out that he is. So yeah, as long as it’s a clean first lap. I’m sure at the end of the race, anything goes. But hopefully at the start of the race, he’s smart enough to settle in and then we just get going. But yeah, we’re certainly in the best place to start.” With all the excitement today and all the excitement that’s going to happen tomorrow, we know there’s more to come. Are you looking forward to Sonoma?“Yeah, that’s a good race. It’ll be a bit quieter, which will be nice. I like that track. It’s one of my favorite places to race. So yeah, it should be a good couple of weeks of racing for us.” Given how the Truck race played out yesterday, did that change your thought process of what you maybe were expecting going into tomorrow. And with what you may see today, will that change how you approach tomorrow, as well?“No, that played out how I thought it was going to be. You know, a calm first-two stages and then pretty rough and aggressive at the end. That’s probably what will happen tomorrow. It’ll start slowly and everyone will sort of ramp up the aggressiveness. I think it played out how we thought it was going to.” You said it’s a very difficult track. What’s most difficult about it? “I think because there’s so much compromise. Each section of corners seems to have two or three. You know, very rarely that there’s one corner just on its own. They all lead into one another, so there’s a lot of compromise to try and set yourself up for that section. There was no one out there today who did a perfect lap.’ Tomorrow’s race is twice as long as the Truck race, and Trucks were two hours 48 minutes. Are you ready for that? Is there anything that you do differently or have to pace yourself for it if it is a four-hour affair on a road course?“I have the perfect sponsor with Red Bull.” Trackhouse did the picture with you and the whole team. Kevin (Magnussen) qualified 21st. Did you have a chance to really chat with him about practice yesterday and maybe his run?“Not really. This week is kind of a rare one that’s flat-out, so it’s been pretty separate. Thankfully, he did a little better today. I think he struggled a lot yesterday. It was a surprise for him how our cars handled and drove. I think it was pretty eye-opening for him. But, yeah, I’ll try and catch up with him after qualifying and hopefully he enjoyed it a little more.” When he came into the media center yesterday, I asked him, hey, is there any form of racing that you would be interested in maybe trying next and he didn’t really give any straight answers. But the first thing that people were saying in my comments Supercars. Would you like to see him behind the wheel of a Supercar?“Yeah, I’m sure he would have enjoyed it, especially the old cars. They were epic. You know, they were some of the best cars I’ve ever driven. So, yeah, I mean, anyone would want to drive those. They were really cool.”

McDowell Scores Popular Victory in Mountain Moonshine Classic at Smoky Mountain

MARYVILLE, TN (June 20, 2026) – Dale McDowell led all 60 laps of the Mountain Moonshine Classic on Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway, earning a popular hometown victory and collecting $30,000 for his 11th career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series win. The victory was McDowell’s first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series triumph triumph since winning the Topless 100 in 2023 and his first Series victory at Smoky Mountain Speedway since 2016. Devin Moran charged from seventh to finish second after passing Friday night winner Brandon Sheppard on lap 45. Moran closed the gap in the closing laps but crossed the finish line 1.113 seconds behind McDowell. Sheppard rounded out the Big River Steel podium in third after finishing second for the first 44 laps of the race. Jake O’Neil recorded the best Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series finish of his career with a fourth-place effort after running inside the top five throughout the event. Chris Madden completed the top five. With his third-place finish, Sheppard trimmed Hudson O’Neal’s championship lead to just 20 points heading into next weekend’s event at Lernerville Speedway. McDowell’s victory was his 13th overall win at Smoky Mountain Speedway since 2008 and came in front of a home-state crowd. “I anticipated that second start and wasn’t sure where the grip was going to be,” McDowell said in Lucas Oil Victory Lane. “Things just kind of fell our way. The car was really good, and the guys have worked hard on it. I’ve given them some feedback, and sometimes it’s probably wrong, but they keep working at it.” “It was an awesome night to win close to home. Like Kyle Busch said, you never know when the last one is going to be, so I’m sure glad to get one here. Shane made a few changes from Friday night, and the car was balanced really well. I was able to pick my way through traffic and guide it where I needed to go.” Moran made a late charge after overtaking Sheppard but couldn’t quite reel in the veteran leader. “Dale McDowell is Dale McDowell for a reason,” Moran said. “I’m ready for him to retire. When he got to traffic, I felt like I had a really good run. I was pushing hard and probably overheated the right rear tire trying to get there. Once I got to him and slid it, that pretty much hurt my chances. Still, coming from seventh to finish second isn’t bad.” Sheppard believed the race was decided in the opening laps. “The initial start is what lost the race for us,” Sheppard said. “I saw Dale rolling a little bit and was waiting to go, but I got lifted from behind and couldn’t launch like I needed to. Once he got out front, we were hoping traffic or a restart would give us an opportunity. Pierce Dominates 141 for 11th World of Outlaws Victory of 2026

MARIBEL, WI (June 20, 2026) – For the sixth week in a row, Bobby Pierce is a winner at the highest level of dirt Late Model racing.

His 50th career win with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision in mid-May at Georgetown Speedway was merely the start of another epic hot streak for the “Smooth Operator.” The following week, Pierce bagged $75,000 at the Show-Me 100, then another $30,000 three days later at the Connor Bobik Memorial. June began with Pierce’s long-awaited maiden Dirt Late Model Dream victory before he turned his focus back to World of Outlaws action and reached double-digit Series wins at West Virginia Motor Speedway last weekend.

From there, the tour rolled north for 141 Speedway’s inaugural World of Outlaws event, and Pierce picked up right where he left off. In his first start at the Maribel, WI facility since 2018, the Oakwood, IL native went wire-to-wire to earn another $25,000 at the end of 60 laps.

The early portion of the race was a duel between a pair of red, white and blue cars in Pierce and Drake Troutman, with both drivers swapping lanes through traffic looking for a way through. Troutman briefly got side-by-side with Pierce at times, but before he could make a move stick, the engine expired under the hood of the No. 22* and ended his race.

That misfortune moved Tyler Erb up to second ahead of Tristan Chamberlain in third, who won his Heat Race and was having one of the most competitive nights of his World of Outlaws career. Pierce pulled away from both of them on the restart, but a dozen laps later, some light rain started to fall which put the race under a red flag with 31 laps complete.

Teams were allowed to return to the pits and make changes during the delay, giving the rest of the field a chance to dial in their car to outrun the No. 32. They all came up empty handed in the second half of the race though, as Pierce went unchallenged on the way to his first 141 victory.

“There at the end, I was getting really loose,” Pierce said. “Definitely didn’t like to see a caution, so I’m glad we didn’t have any. I’ve got to thank my crew for the quick turnaround back there, we were fixing the spoiler, put fresh tires on, put a little fuel in it and that was all the time we really had. I do thank them for getting the race in, I know these fans want to see all 60 laps, but it just made it tricky for me because I was in the lead.”

McCreadie climbed to second to earn a spot on the podium for the first time since his Selinsgrove Speedway win, while Nick Hoffman rebounded from a rough weekend at West Virginia with a third-place result.

ELKHART LAKE, Wisconsin (June 20, 2026) – David Malukas, in the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet, will start on the outside of the front row for the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America, the fifth time in the races to start the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES that the Team Penske newcomer will start on the front row. Despite starting last in Detroit, Malukas’ 5.9 starting average is the second lowest of the 25 drivers, and the 24-year-old has been the best qualifying Team Penske driver in eight of the ten races. Malukas made his fifth appearance in the Firestone Fast Six this season, the second most of the 25 drivers. Scott McLaughlin in the No. 3 XPEL Team Penske Chevrolet joined his teammate in the Firestone Fast Six, his second straight appearance at Road America and his third appearance this season. Nolan Siegel, in the No. 6 NTT DATA Arrow McLaren Chevrolet, will roll off the grid from the seventh spot, his best starting position this season.

Now, fast forward, I mean, less than 24 hours later, and now, here we are on the front row. So big kudos to them. But for my side, like I said, Q1Q2, fantastic Q3. I just, I ran out of talent. I made a few mistakes and didn’t get it in the end. But overall, still a really good start. Road America, for me, this is pretty much a home track. You know, growing up in Chicago, I used to always come here with my dad when I was younger, he would take the Corvette around, and it was kind of the first moments of when I said, hey, I want to pursue this. I want to get into racing. Excited for what’s ahead and hopefully we can get it done for XPEL at the XPEL race.” Nolan Siegel, No. 6 NTT DATA Arrow McLaren Chevrolet qualified 8th, but will start 7th:“Qualifying is done here at Road America. Overall, happy with our weekend so far. We could have definitely been in the Firestone Fast 6 there. Missed it a little bit on my side but excited about tomorrow starting P7. That’s our best starting spot this year. Things are moving in the right direction. We’ll keep them moving in the right direction tomorrow and have a good day.” Caio Collet, No. 4 Combitrans Amazonia Chevrolet qualified 9th but will start 8th:“A really strong weekend for us so far. I think since yesterday we’ve been really, really quick. Today in qualifying Q1 was really strong, and then after that I think we maybe were a bit too ambitious with the setup change, and also myself, I didn’t really put a really good lap in Q2. I think we missed out a little bit on the fast six, but anyways, we have a really strong Combitrans Chevy for tomorrow, and I think we can move forward.”
Pato O’Ward, No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet qualified 10th, but will start 9th:“I’m debating if we should have gone with the primary tire there. The tires have been so wonky from one set to another; the car has transformed completely. It’s very, very strange. I genuinely thought we had more to fight for there, but I was just sliding around with the track also changing so much. It looks like we weren’t the only one dealing with this, but at this point all you can do is try to maximize what we can bring to the race. We just need to put our heads down for tomorrow and make our way forward the best we can.” Christian Lundgaard, No. 7 VELO Arrow McLaren Chevrolet qualified 13th, but will start 12th:“We clearly found something compared to P2. It’s been a struggle; we’ve been on the struggle bus all weekend. We don’t really understand why, which is the toughest part to swallow. Obviously, we were competitive here last year and were right there in the test. Nothing feels like the test. I don’t really feel like it’s the same for the two others. What it is we don’t know. We’re trying to figure it out. We made some improvements in qualifying, but we’re just playing catch up. I’m not going to say I’m not worried for tomorrow, but again, we’ve got a lot more laps to figure it out. A lot can happen in terms of strategy. We know how the yellows are going to fall, if they do what they’ve done previously”. Santino Ferrucci, No. 14 Homes For Our Troops Chevrolet qualified 7th, but will start 13th after a penalty:“Overall, really happy. After the test, coming here and unrolling, the Homes For Our Troops car was good. We’ve not been outside the top 10 yet this weekend. Qualifying, it was nice to get into the Fast 12. Kicking myself should have had another fast six for us, just like Barber. Same thing, just pushing all the way to the end of the lap, just losing it right over the line. It’s just painful, you know. It’s honestly happened to us three times this year, if you count Detroit [untimely red flag], so it’s just a shame, but compared to last year’s qualifying results, we are definitely well ahead of the curve, so I can’t complain. You’ve got to look at the good. Starting 13th with the grid penalty, it’s really not where you want to be in the midfield; seventh makes your day a lot easier, so we’ll work on it. We started 18th last year and finished on the podium, so no reason why we can’t start a little bit better and do the same thing.” Josef Newgarden, No. 2 PPG Team Penske Chevrolet qualified 15th:“Really proud of the effort by everyone on the PPG Chevy team. It’s tough out there with my foot, but not as much as it was at a place like Detroit where you’re constantly working the pedals. Here you have a little bit more time rolling the center so there is transition time from brake to gas pedal. Although it happens quick, it is still a bit easier. We are going to give it our all tomorrow and see where it shakes out.” Christian Rasmussen, No. 21 Direct Supply Chevrolet qualified 16th:“Man, it was really close! We were, what, less than a hundredth away from transferring? I was pretty happy with my first run, but I wanted to take a little bit of understeer out of the car. We added a little bit of wing, but then we had more understeer on the second run. So, I don’t know what that’s all about. We’ll have to look at that. However, we’re working in the right direction, and hopefully we can find something for tomorrow’s race. Rinus VeeKay, No. 76 Juncos Hollinger Chevrolet qualified 22nd, but will start 21st:“Very tough weekend so far. I think we had a bit more confidence in our package showing up this weekend. Seems like a little bit of a struggle. We did not opt to test here, so I’m not going to talk about that further. Anyway, we we’re just we’re lacking pace, balance to be as quick as other cars in the corners. That’s our biggest issue right now. Team and crew are doing a great job to try to tackle that and find solutions. And, of course, the drivers are as well. So still max effort going into the race. We have a warmup tomorrow, so I’m excited to try some stuff that we haven’t tried yet and, hopefully, get one of those eureka moments.“It’s a long race. We can do much. And, one good thing about this weekend is I think our long run pace is actually quite good. So, that that’s going be important in race. So, yep, take our positives and improve our negatives.” Sting Ray Robb, No. 77 Juncos Hollinger – Goodheart Chevrolet qualified 25th, but will start 24th:“Both cars are struggling this weekend. First time I saw the red tires was halfway through qualifying, which I regret now. I should have said something to the team earlier to understand the balance because it is a new tire for us. Having not tested here, we didn’t know what we were going to have. So, we have an uphill battle the rest of the weekend to find some pace in the car as well as develop a strategy that will help us move forward in the race. Crew has done a good job. The incident in practice one set us back a little bit but they recovered well. We were able to get back out in practice two right away with no issues, and kind of start back where we left off. So hopefully we can keep improving and learning as much as we can. But right now, we need to keep looking forward.” Alexander Rossi, No. 20 ECR Java House Chevrolet qualified 21st, but will start 25th after a penalty:“That was a very difficult qualifying session. It’s especially disappointing after we had a fairly strong Practice 2. We’ll have to fight our way forward tomorrow, but we will be ready.”

It feels good. P2, right there. Going from practice yesterday to today, we flipped this car upside down overnight. It was not in the window yesterday. Coming into today, so much better. We got it right where we needed it to be.
Qualifying, P1, P2, put some laps together. This track is so long, it is so hard to put a lap together. That is the main things. You’ll see the splits of other drivers in between sessions, it’s so drastic. You have these long straightaways. Come out of turn three, long straightaway, you’re thinking, thinking, by the time you get to the next corner.Q3, missed out a little bit, but…
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q.  David, how much do you think during the days off I just got to raise my level to beat this guy?DAVID MALUKAS: Well, for my sake, I always put a lot of pressure on myself, no matter the situation, to keep getting better and looking at what you can do differently, right? You learn more from your losses than you do your wins.Every day, man, I feel like I’m changing so much. If I even look at myself now to one month ago, I feel like I’m a completely different driver. If I compare to last year, it’s not even relatable.
Keep learning, learning. 24 years old, we still got time.
Q.  Is it frustrating to look up and see that No. 10 back at the top?DAVID MALUKAS: Not really. For me, I know the mistakes I made in Q3. For me, I’m actually over the moon because here I am P2 on another road course, right? It feels really good.
I feel like this before season, it was ovals only. I worked so hard the off-season, even in between the races, the amount of simulator, looking at video, date. I look at video till I just get stick sick of it, learning, gain what I can.
Now I can say road courses, street courses, ovals, it feel good that I’m always there on all three.
Q.  When you have these consistently well qualifying performances you’ve had this year, does it make this 20 hours up until the race more stressful for you trying to get the first win?DAVID MALUKAS: No. I try to keep that contained. If the situation’s there, then great, we can go and get that win. At the end of the day it’s trying to get points, trying to have a good race. You don’t want to make stupid mistakes or a stupid move to be like I need to get this win so bad.
I know the time will come. If this race is going to be the one, we’ll go for it. If the situation doesn’t arise, you have to keep the mind calm and collected, get what we can.
Q.  The series has been racing here since 1985. You, Mario Andretti, Michael Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, three apiece. When people talk about names like that, does it matter to you? Is that something you’re going to think about in 20 years when you’re done?ALEX PALOU: Yes and no. I mean, it’s super special. It’s very cool to hear that, especially those names. I think all the names you said there are huge legends in the sport.But at the end of the day it doesn’t really change much. Like, I feel it’s super cool obviously. I would love, I would love to have that in our let’s say CV when I retire.It’s hard. It’s hard to get. Hopefully we can get it. I’m sure if we get it, someone else in 10 years or five or six will get us, as well. It’s cool.
Q.  You talk about this being a long lap. Talk about sections of the track that are more fun to drive than others, where you think the best opportunities for passing are going to be.DAVID MALUKAS: Passing opportunities, I mean, pick your straightaway, right? You got so many. Obviously into one and five are going to be big ones. Decent passes into turn eight if you get a good run through turn seven.My favorite part of the track is the Carrousel. I love the Carrousel. The amount of speed we’re carrying, especially since they did the repave here a few years ago, it’s unbelievable. I mean, my neck pad, it’s almost equal to the Indy 500, it’s so cool. We are on the limit there.

Alex Palou will lead the field to green for the fifth consecutive race in his #10 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, this time at the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America.

Palou is a four-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion already, and holds a 49-point advantage in the championship standings as the series enters the second half of the 2026 season.

The Spaniard is the first driver since the late, great Alex Zanardi in the 1996-1997 seasons to score five straight IndyCar pole positions.

Palou will be going for his fourth win at Road America tomorrow, as well as his fifth win of 2026 following triumphs at St. Petersburg, Barber Motorsports Park, the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach and the Detroit Grand Prix.

The Meyer Shank Racing Honda pair of Marcus Armstrong and Felix Rosenqvist locked out row two in today’s qualifying from Road America. Rosenqvist is looking for his second-career win at Road America, as well as his second win of 2026 following his triumph as last month’s 110th running of the Indianapolis 500. Armstrong, meanwhile, is looking for his first NTT INDYCAR SERIES victory and his first podium of the 2026 IndyCar season.

Marcus Ericsson scored his first podium of 2026 last time out at World Wide Technology Raceway and is looking to carry that momentum to a strong result tomorrow from fifth on the grid in his Andretti Global Honda.

Jason Feger Passes Ryan Unzicker Late to Win at Farmer City

FARMER CITY, IL (June 19, 2026) — When Jason Feger and Ryan Unzicker square-off in a battle for supremacy on the tight bullrings of Illinois, the excitement level is sure to reach fever pitch.

Fans in attendance at Farmer City Raceway were treated to a generous helping of exactly that Friday night as the two DIRTcar Late Model national champions engaged in a relentless battle for the win around the 1/4-mile oval.

In the end, Feger emerged victorious after capitalizing on a wild incident in lapped traffic in the final laps to collect his 38th career DIRTcar Summer Nationals Feature win.

Early on, Feger was in control of the 40-lap main event, utilizing his pole starting position to lead the opening 23 laps of the race.

A restart on Lap 24 is where things changed in a hurry as Unzicker threw a slide job exiting turn four on Feger and led Lap 24 before a caution bunched the field up again. But this time, Unzicker led the field back to green.

“I was more frustrated the handling of the car went away,” Feger said. “We were really good early in the race, and then the rain just kind of had the track a little different tonight. We ran a [NLMT-4 tire] tonight, and I really thought the three was the right tire, and it ended up would’ve been the right tire. Once our edges were gone, we were no good.”

Unzicker continued to lead until heavy lap traffic became a factor on Lap 38 and allowed Feger’s No. 25 to close the gap quickly.

With just two laps-to-go, Unzicker made contact with the lapped car Mitch McGrath out of turn four and nearly spun around on the front stretch. Unzicker was able to get going straight again, but Feger had closed in on the rear deck of Unzicker’s No. 24 as they charged into turns one and two.

Feger ripped the top, found the momentum off turn two, and drove deep down low underneath Unzicker into turn three. They touched wheels before the apex of the corner, and as Unzicker slid up the track and into the side of McGrath’s No. 74, Feger was able to capitalize, slipping underneath both cars to retake the lead as he crossed under the white flag.

Feger came back around to take the checkered flag and career win No. 38 with Hell Tour, bringing him within one win of tying 2004 Summer Nationals champion Don O’Neal for fourth on the all-time wins list at 39.

“It’s just really a tough deal. So maybe if I’m leading, I do pick the bottom and I get by the lap cars no problem, but I very easily could’ve made the same choice as Ryan did, just chose the wrong lane,” Feger said. “Me seeing him pick that line made it a lot easier knowing where I had to go. The car’s been good all summer and you’ve got to have some luck or be good, and right now, we are good. You always lose more that way than you’re ever going to win.”

“Any time you lose, it’s a bummer, right?” Unzicker said in his DIRTVision post-race interview. “I don’t know, some of the lappers just need to chill the heck out and just stay in one lane, and unfortunately, they can’t figure that out yet. But the car was good and that’s all I can ask for being on the podium.”

Unzicker hung on to finish second, Clay Stuckey finished third, Tanner English charged from 15th to finish fourth, and Kyle Hammer rounded out the top five.

Michael Long Gets 14th Career Summit Modified Win at Farmer City

Michael Long continues to carve his legacy with the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals with a strong performance in his latest triumph at Farmer City Raceway.

Long, the 2024 DIRTcar UMP Modified national champion from Fowler, IL, picked up career win No. 14 with the Summit Modifieds Friday night, moving him into a tie for fifth on the all-time wins list with current series points leader, Ray Bollinger.

“It’s a good deal. It’s a good summer series that comes around here every year,” Long said. “There are a lot of top guys that run the series and it’s good to be up there with them. It’s something we like doing every year.”

The Feature went green at the 1/4-mile confines of Farmer City as Zeke McKenzie — a winner at Fairbury Speedway one week ago — took the initial lead over outside polesitter and Vanquish Race Cars teammate, Bollinger.

McKenzie led the first nine laps before a caution on Lap 9 gave Long the opening he needed on the restart.

Long found speed and momentum on the cushion that propelled him around the top side of McKenzie on Lap 12.

Long went unchallenged in the final 13 laps to pick up the Summit Modifieds win in the series’ 13th visit to Farmer City.

“What made the pass a lot easier was when the yellow came out and Ray (Bollinger) picked up the bottom,” Long said. “I was in third, so then I had to go to the top and it just kind of left me a free lane. Once I got to the lead, [my car was] so much better.”

Bollinger finished second, Trevor Neville finished third, McKenzie hung on to fourth, and Landen Miller finished fifth.
