POMONA, CA – On Friday evening at the 52nd annual Auto Club NHRA Finals it was John Force Racing teammates John Force and Robert Hight setting the pace with two of the three quickest runs of the day. Hight was right behind his boss with the third quickest run of the last session on Friday in the Auto Club Chevrolet Camaro.

John Force powered the PEAK Antifreeze Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car to the top of the field with a 3.880 second run at 330 mph in the second session. KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 TARGET CHEVROLET SS – QUALIFIED SECOND
WHAT WERE YOU MISSING TO GET THE POLE?
“I probably over drove the entry of (Turn) 3 maybe a little bit and didn’t get wide-open soon enough off of (Turn) 4. My owner is going to come over here and tell me I should have got the pole, but he was giving us a hard time before qualifying saying we always win these practices, but we aren’t winning anything when it comes down to it. Second is not too bad with the Target Chevy it is my best qualifying effort here at Phoenix. We have always qualified well here, just inching our way towards a pole. Would have liked to have gotten a pole, but second is not bad.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Phoenix–Qualifying

“Man, it’s amazing. We weren’t really that strong in qualifying trim in practice. I don’t really know where that came from, but I just can’t thank everybody at Hendrick Motorsports enough. To do this in Phoenix, so close to home, means so much to me. We have had such fast racecars we haven’t had an ounce of luck, but to get a pole here means a lot.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Phoenix–Alex Bowman

GREAT JOB TO WIN THE POLE:
“Man, that’s huge! Great job by everybody on our Bad Boy Realtreee Chevy and everybody at Dow for supporting us and getting us this far, it is our second pole of the year, and I can’t be happier for RCR and everybody back at the shop. A lot of hard work and effort goes on. We missed the Chase by just two feet. We want to prove that we can win a race by the end of this year. This is big for us. I thought I messed up the lap truthfully. I got a lot of good speed off of two, but turn three I turned in and missed my corner, but it worked out. Proud of these guys and everybody back home. CHEVROLET RIDING MOMENTUM INTO TEXAS
Tiebreaker Race for Manufacturer Dominance in the Lone Star State

DETROIT – (November 2, 2016) – After winning three of the last four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, Chevrolet looks to cap off the 2016 season in championship style. In a tie for being the most successful manufacturer with 12 wins at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS), a victory would move Chevrolet to manufacturer supremacy at the 1.5-mile venue in the Lone Star state, and continue their recent streak of trips to Victory Lane.

Chevrolet’s most recent victory came last weekend at Martinsville Speedway as six-time series champion, Jimmie Johnson punched his ticket to the Championship Four with a record tying ninth win at the paperclip-shaped oval. Johnson has enjoyed immense success at TMS winning the last four consecutive fall races. This weekend the pilot of the No. 48 Chevrolet SS looks to extend his record setting win history at TMS by wearing the winner’s cowboy hat for the seventh time at Texas.

The fate of the other two Chevy drivers in the Chase wan in the balance after they experienced struggles last weekend at Martinsville. Kurt Busch, a former Texas winner is on a quest to repeat his past Texas success and insure the No. 41 Chevrolet SS teams’ spot in the Championship four. Busch’s Stewart-Haas Racing teammate, Kevin Harvick, a 35- time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series winner has never earned a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory at Texas Motor Speedway. There is no time like the present for the 2014 Cup champion to drive into the flames of the track’s Victory Lane. Harvick finds himself below the cut line going into Texas and in need to a victory to propel him and the No. 4 Chevy SS team to a third consecutive appearance in the Championship Four under the current Chase format.

As the 2016 season sprints to a close those teams not in Chase contention hope to spoil the Chasers party and steal a victory to take momentum into the off-season. Everything is bigger in Texas they say, that famous saying rings true when it comes to the on-track, side-by-side racing and sheer speed at Texas Motor Speedway.

Who will lead the field at the checkered flag is unknown, but a Chevrolet SS pace car will lead the field to green to start 501 miles of racing in the AAA Texas 500.

The eighth race of the 10-race Chase playoff from Texas Motor Speedway is scheduled to begin Sunday, November 6 at 2 p.m. Live coverage of the 334-lap/501-mile contest will be available on NBC, PRN, Sirius NASCAR Radio Channel 90 and NASCAR.com.
