Event 4 of the Formula 4 U.S. Championship headed to Road Atlanta this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (September 15, 2016) – Two wins and a fifth-place finish during Event 3 of the Formula 4 United States Championship was just the right combination to catapult Cameron Das of Brooklandville, Maryland, from third to first place in championship points heading into the series penultimate event at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia, this weekend.

“I’m really looking forward to Road Atlanta,” Das said. “It’s a track with lots of elevations, a long straightaway and most importantly, speed. I’ve practiced hours on the simulator, but it will be interesting to see how the real track feels. I think we will see some intense drafting down the long back-straight. How is year two going to be different than your first year in the Chase?

“That’s what I was looking for. Well, when I look at the Chase last year, over the years of not being in it, I felt like somebody always kind of self-eliminated themselves early on. I think it was a little bit different when the first race was at Loudon, because Loudon is one of the races on restarts that late in the race people get together and can run well all day long and get a bad finish. Inside Line Promotions – CHICO, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2016) – Dominic Scelzi posted his third top-10 finish in a four-race span with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series a week ago Wednesday in Oregon.

“It was a good way to round out our trip to the East and Midwest this summer,” he said. “I think we have been able to show our improvement through our results the last few weeks so that’s a big boost of confidence for our team.”

Endurance teammates rejoin team at Road Atlanta IMSA finale

DETROIT (Sept. 15, 2016) –Corvette Racing is bringing back two endurance racing all-stars to rejoin its already strong lineup for the final championship push in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Mike Rockenfeller and Marcel Fässler will be part of the Corvette Racing roster at Road Atlanta’s 10-hour Petit Le Mans presented by Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort.

It will be the first Corvette Racing event for Fässler and Rockenfeller since they opened the season with appearances at the Rolex 24 At Daytona and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in the pair of Mobil 1/SiriusXM-sponsored Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs. Corvette Racing and Chevrolet won both events in the GT Le Mans (GTLM) category and has won three races since to take control of the GTLM points lead in the Manufacturer’s, Driver’s and Team categories. Honda, Red Bull GRC Civics Set to Compete in Seattle

• Honda Racing Duo Return to Seattle for the First time since 2014
• Debut Event at Evergreen Speedway
• Olsbergs MSE Looking to Bounce Back from Atlantic City Results

SEATTLE, W.A. (September 14, 2016) – Olsbergs MSE, with drivers Joni Wiman and Sebastian Eriksson, returns to Seattle, WA. for Round 10 of the 2016 Red Bull Global Rallycross championship for the first time in two years.

The event takes place on the grounds of Evergreen Speedway at The Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, WA., just 30 miles outside of the Emerald City. At .791 miles, the Seattle circuit is the third-shortest of the year, ahead of both Daytona International Speedway and Marine Corps Air Station New River.

The track’s tight and technical corners, along with its unique, high-speed Turn One, will test the Honda Civic Coupe’s agility and adaptability. For Wiman, this short course bodes well, as he collected a top-five finish at a similar-style circuit in Dallas. “This track seems rather simple on paper with it only having eight corners, but they will be slower and narrower corners,” he noted. “Corner entry and consistency will be the key to getting out front early in the heats.”

Two of Eriksson’s three podium finishes this season came on the second-shortest circuit of the year, at Daytona International Speedway. When it comes to attacking the 77.5-percent paved section of the Seattle course, Eriksson believes the start will be the key to a successful heat. “With the long, left-hand oval Turn One, we’ll need to have an exceptional start to get out and lead the pack. It looks like what the Honda IndyCar Series drivers experience at their oval races, so it will be fast and a lot of fun!”

The team hopes to rebound from its Atlantic City results in Seattle this weekend. Television coverage of the event can be seen on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBC, with online coverage beginning at 2pm on RedBull.TV.

DETROIT (Sept. 14, 2016) – Only two races – covering 12 hours and 40 minutes – stand between Chevrolet and another Engine Manufacturer Championship in International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) competition. Chevrolet’s Corvette Daytona Prototype program and the rest of the IMSA Prototype category head to Austin, Texas and Circuit of the Americas this weekend for the penultimate round of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Chevrolet sits in the proverbial driver’s seat of the Prototype Engine Manufacturer Championship. The lead is 12 points with 70 remaining. Ryan Blaney and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team won’t be running for a championship this weekend at the Chicagoland Speedway, but they will be in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 and will be racing just as hard as they would have if they’d made the cut for the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

That’s a major improvement over last year when Blaney and his then-part-time team showed up at Chicago with a fast Ford Fusion but did not get to race it.

That’s exactly what’s happening as Coughlin prepares for the NHRA Carolina Nationals this weekend at zMax Dragway.

Coughlin, the two-time Pro Mod champion, qualified No. 1 and raced to the final round of the U.S. Nationals two weeks ago in the seventh of 10 Pro Mod races, and he chopped Rickie Smith’s lead down to 87 points with three races remaining.

“Heading into Charlotte and getting a little closer on the points and all of that is exciting,” Coughlin said. “I love the Charlotte track and I love the fans in Charlotte. What a great place to race. I’m looking forward to being there and getting back to racing. We’re pretty fired up to get there. Red Horse Racing in NCWTS History… Since entering NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition in 2005, RHR has logged 506 starts, earning 16 wins, 107 top-five finishes, 221 top-10 finishes and 13 pole awards.

Tifft Returns to No. 11 Tundra… Matt Tifft, who underwent surgery for removal of a low-grade glioma in the brain in June, will return to NASCAR competition in the No. 11 BrainGear/Surface Sunscreen Toyota Tundra at Chicagoland Speedway.

2016: The Road So Far… With 15 races completed in the 2016 season, Red Horse Racing is fifth in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver championship point standings with driver Timothy Peters. The No. 17 team sits fifth in the owner points standings with the No. 11 team in seventh. The organization has earned one win, nine top-five finishes and 16 top-10 finishes in 2016.

This Week’s Toyota Tundra at Chicagoland Speedway… Timothy Peters will pilot chassis No. 023 from the Red Horse Racing stable on Friday in the American Ethanol e15 225. This chassis was last used by Peters at Michigan International Speedway where he led 42 laps and recorded a second-place finish.

Peters at Chicago… Peters has recorded seven starts at Chicagoland Speedway and has two top-five and three top-10 finishes. He has an average starting position of 13.9 and an average finishing position of 13.9.

Race Rewind: Canada… In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ fourth trek north of the border to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (CTMP), Timothy Peters had transmission issues just past the halfway point, which foiled a top-five run, and handed Peters and his Red Horse Racing team an 18th-place finish in the 64-lap event. Crew chief Shane Huffman would not call Peters to pit road until lap 24, when Peters would come in for four Goodyear tires and Sunoco fuel. Huffman’s strategy would have Peters visit pit road once more for fuel only under green on lap 34. That fuel strategy netted Peters the fourth position by lap 40, but he fell victim to transmission woes shortly thereafter on lap 43, losing third gear completely. The veteran driver nursed his No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra home in 18th. With one race before the Chase, the 18th-place result keeps Peters in the eighth position on the Chase grid, 32 points ahead of the cutoff.

Race Rewind: Canadian Tire Motorsports Park… Brett Moffitt recorded a 16th-place finish at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. After the green flag flew under gorgeous sunny skies, Moffitt fell back slightly, but continued to run in the top-10. With 30 laps to go, Zipadelli called Moffitt to pit road for four more tires and fuel under green flag conditions. The Iowa native worked his way back into the top-10, but was involved in an incident with another competitor on lap 54 and sustained damage. Moffitt made two stops for the No. 11 team to repair the damage and change four tires, With nine laps to go, Moffitt restarted in 24th and with the help of two laps of overtime, made his way to the 16th position to take the checkered flag.
