CORVETTE RACING AT MID-OHIO: Garcia, Magnussen Back on the Podium
Hard-fought third place for No. 3 Corvette in return to Mid-Ohio

LEXINGTON, Ohio (May 6, 2018) – Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia earned a podium finish Sunday in Corvette Racing’s return to Mid-Ohio Sports Car in the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio. The duo piloted their No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R to a third-place finish in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GT Le Mans (GTLM) class.

The result vaulted Garcia and Magnussen into a fourth-place tie for the GTLM Driver Championship with Corvette teammates Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner. They placed eighth in GTLM on Sunday in the No. 4 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R as the team returned to Mid-Ohio for the first time since 2012. CORVETTE RACING AT MID-OHIO: Ready to Charge… Rain or Shine
Two Chevrolet Corvettes to start from third and fourth rows

LEXINGTON, Ohio (May 5, 2018) – With an eye toward a questionable raceday forecast, Corvette Racing will head into the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio prepared for both a dry and wet race. The two Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs will start from the third and fourth rows of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GT Le Mans (GTLM) field.

The team’s task of winning for the ninth time at Mid-Ohio is not an impossible one. Corvette Racing won in its last appearance at the 2.25-mile, 13-turn circuit in 2012 with Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner coming from sixth place to do it. “I felt like I nailed that lap pretty good. Everything from coming to the green to (Turns) 1 and 2 were really good. (Turns) 3 and 4 I maybe left a little bit out there. I got in there a little hot and up the track. I planned on kind of moving up the race track each round. The first round caught me of guard. I was really loose getting in, but they made great adjustments on the DC Solar Chevy throughout the next two rounds. The second round we were probably a little too tight, but they kind of found the happy medium there for the final round. So, I’m happy about that. We’ve always qualified good here. “I can relax a little bit more coming to this race track. With it being my best track and the love I have for this place, I’m always excited to come, but trying to get the No. 48 car back into Victory Lane, I can take a little pressure of myself here knowing that the rhythm-style and the way you drive this track and the set-up for the car. We’ll get it close, and history shows that. Hopefully we get it perfect and we can have the day that we really want to have and get back to Victory Lane.
