BRITTANY FORCE AND MONSTER ENERGY LEAD JOHN FORCE RACING AFTER FRIDAY QUALIFYING AT NEW ENGLAND DRAGWAY

EPPING, N.H. (July 6, 2018) — Brittany Force and the Monster Energy dragster are qualified in the fourth position after two rounds of qualifying at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway. In Funny Car, Robert Hight is No. 5, John Force follows in No. 6 and Courtney Force is No. 10.

Brittany Force piloted her Monster Energy dragster to a 3.775-second pass at 316.60 mph during the second qualifying session to end up No. 4. It was a drastic improvement from her first qualifying pass that was all tire smoke and put her 13th. RCR Post Race Report – Coca-Cola Firecracker 250

Matt Tifft and the No. 2 KC Motorgroup Camaro Team Salvage Top-20 Finish at Daytona International Speedway

“We had a great No. 2 KC Motorgroup Chevrolet Camaro tonight and ran in the top 10 for the majority of the race. We started off too heavy on the splitter but worked to get it exactly where it needed to be for the final stage. The bottom lane was best for us all night. Unfortunately during the final stage, the 60 car kept going high to the middle and leaving a gap, so I started to move around him when he came down on me and spun us around. My team gave it their all and repaired it enough for us to stay out for the remainder of the race. Every point matters when you’re running for a championship, and we made sure to get every one we could despite our circumstances. We made gains throughout all three restrictor-plate races this season. We just don’t have the finishes to show it. We’ll get back after it here in February.”

CAMARO ZL1 CAPTURES SECOND CONSECUTIVE DAYTONA POLE
Chevrolet Earns Fourth Pole of Season, 698th All-Time

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 6, 2018) – Chase Elliott scored his fourth career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) pole putting the No. 9 Hooters Camaro ZL1 in the top spot at Daytona International Speedway with a lap of 46.381 seconds and an average speed of 194.045 mph. The run marks Elliott’s third pole in six races at the ‘World Center of Racing’ and his first pole win of the 2018 MENCS season.

“Our Hooters Chevy has been nice all weekend,” Elliott said after capturing the pole. “We made a couple of changes actually at the end of that last practice before the rain and made it go a little faster. I hope that translates to a good driving car tomorrow night. Obviously, a lot of speed in our Chevrolet’s. I’ve said this before, but we have put a lot of effort into our speedway program at Hendrick Motorsports. The engine shop, chassis shop, body shop, we take a lot of pride in coming to these races. They pay the same amount of points as the rest of them, so it matters and our team treats it that way and their hard work pays off.” Continue reading CAMARO ZL1 CAPTURES SECOND CONSECUTIVE DAYTONA POLE →

ROBERT HIGHT LOOKING FOR FIRST NEW ENGLAND DRAGWAY WIN
EPPING, N.H. (July 5, 2018) — After making adjustments to his AAA of Northern New England Chevrolet Camaro SS before the Norwalk, Ohio race, reigning world champion Robert Hight is looking forward to the second half of the 2018 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season beginning with the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway.

“We were running bigger cylinder heads, a different camshaft and a different supercharger to start the year because we were trying to go faster and set records,” Hight said. “(Crew chief) Jimmy (Prock) decided to go back to what we ran last year, the same stuff Courtney’s running right now, because with the NHRA’s new track prep, we just can’t run as hard as we want to.” Continue reading ROBERT HIGHT LOOKING FOR FIRST NEW ENGLAND DRAGWAY WIN →

OHN FORCE CONFIDENT HEADING TO NEW ENGLAND NATIONALS WITH
PEAK COOLANT AND MOTOR OIL TEAM
EPPING, N.H. (July 5, 2018) — Solidly in the NHRA Mello Yello Top 10 points standings, 16-time Funny Car world champion John Force feels confident heading into the second half of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season starting at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway.

Force has raced his way into two final round appearances and three semifinals after opening up the season with a series of explosions. Force never gave up on his PEAK Coolant and Motor Oil Chevrolet Camaro SS and had all the faith in his team to get them back on the right track.

“The car’s starting to go rounds, this ol’ PEAK Coolant and Motor Oil Chevy is starting to go down the racetrack. That’s what we’ve been working for. We’ve moved up a little in points. It’s still tight, but we’re moving forward. (Crew chief) Jon Schafer, these young kids, Ronnie Thompson, they’re starting to prove themselves. We’ve come back and went to the finals at Richmond and the semifinals in Norwalk both times I get beat by my daughter.” Continue reading OHN FORCE CONFIDENT HEADING TO NEW ENGLAND NATIONALS WITH PEAK COOLANT AND MOTOR OIL TEAM →

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO COME BACK HERE TO DAYTONA WHERE YOU HAD SOME SUCCESS EARLIER IN THE YEAR AND IT WAS PROBABLY THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR SEASON SO FAR?
“Its good to be back here in Daytona. You know when you are back in Daytona when you can’t breathe, and your sinuses are acting up. We’re back and it’s kind of the same way it started when I was here in February. But looking back on that race, it was pretty much a week and a half of great things that happened for us. The weeks you hope it to happen now and you don’t really get that. There are usually some bumps in the road that you hit. I just kind of remember going through all the emotions of trying to be cool and collected, not getting over-anxious about anything, and let things come to me. So, I think that is kind of the same game plan we have this weekend. Just let it all come to us and try and survive. I think we had three close instances during the 500 when we should have been on the hook wadded up, and it just didn’t happen. So, hopefully we can have that same kind of luck and good grace on our side to continue to press on and set ourselves up for a good finish at the end.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Daytona–Bubba Wallace →

WHAT’S IT LIKE COMING BACK TO DAYTONA FOR A SUMMER RACE AS THE DAYTONA 500 CHAMPION?
“It feels great. Any time you come through the tunnel you’ve been able to win a couple of races here and I’ve enjoyed this place from the beginning. I feel like I’ve been coming here since I was born. It’s like a second home to me. I know a lot of people here and I even come back for Easter most of the time. COURTNEY FORCE AND ADVANCE AUTO PARTS READY TO CONTINUE DOMINANCE AT NEW ENGLAND DRAGWAY
EPPING, N.H. (July 5, 2018) — Courtney Force and the Advance Auto Parts team have shown no signs of slowing down. They have a 250-point lead in the NHRA Mello Yello points standings, have qualified No. 1 eight times and earned four wins in five final round appearances. Now they head to New England Dragway for the sixth annual NHRA New England Nationals, an event Force has continually had success at.

In the event’s five-year existence, Force has had two final round appearances including a win at the inaugural event in 2013 and a runner-up finish at the 2017 race. She has qualified inside the top eight all five years and was the No. 2 qualifier in 2017 after her Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car had a highlight reel explosion during Friday qualifying. Despite the fireworks, Force was the preliminary leader at the end of the day and, come race day, was only second to teammate Robert Hight. She raced her way to the final round and nearly had a double-up win with sister Brittany Force. Brenda Grubbs Racing Update

Race Results

The Atlanta National event was fun as numerous racers congratulated us on the recent Houston win. Unfortunately, the race results weren’t nearly as spectacular! Super Stock resulted in a first round loss and Stock, a second round loss.
The Topeka National event was another solid showing for the Super Stocker, making it to the quarter finals before losing to the event RU, Gary Stinnett. The Stocker didn’t make it to round one. During Class Eliminations, the motor came to a screeching halt a 7500 RPMs around the 1,000 foot mark. It was quickly determined the timing chain broke which is disappointing for a motor with limited runs.
The weather was typical Topeka. Friday was sunny and hot and Saturday and Sunday were rainy. The pros were able to get a few runs in over the weekend, however first round of Sportsman was held Monday morning. Thankfully, Brenda’s work schedule was flexible. Her flight to Minneapolis was rescheduled for the evening and meetings rescheduled for the next day. Bill, unfortunately, had to make the journey home alone, traveling late into the night to ensure he would make it to work later the next day. Sometimes, it’s hard to balance work and racing! Menard Hopes To Build On Restrictor-Plate Success At Daytona

Menard Hopes To Build On Restrictor-Plate Success At Daytona

July 4, 2018

On the surface it would seem like all Paul Menard and the No. 21 Menards/Moen team need to do to be successful in Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway is to pick up where they left off after the first two restrictor-plate races of the season.

Menard was in contention for the win up to the end of the season-opening Daytona 500 before finishing sixth. And he won a Stage, led eight laps and ran near the front for most of the April 29 race at Talladega Superspeedway before being collected in a crash not of his own doing.

But Menard, the veteran driver of the Wood Brothers’ iconic No. 21 Ford said it’s not that simple. Continue reading Menard Hopes To Build On Restrictor-Plate Success At Daytona →
