POINTS LEADER COURTNEY FORCE HEADS TO NORWALK FOCUSED ON

NORWALK, Ohio (June 21, 2018) — Courtney Force and her Advance Auto Parts team are on fire, which is appropriate as they head to Summit Racing Motorsports Park, the site of the specialty Night Under Fire event. Force, who has raced in and watched her father, 16-time champion John Force, race and win at Night Under Fire is eager to continue her hot streak into the halfway mark of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

The 2017 Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals are well behind the 12-time event winner. After consecutive trips to the finals in 2015 and 2016, Force inexplicably failed to qualify in 2017. Not only is that the only such blemish on her record, it came in a season in which she qualified no worse than eighth, was a No. 1 qualifier seven times, tying a record for females in the Funny Car category, and finished the season third in points, a career-best. SHENZHEN – Chevrolet announced today that Corvette Racing will close its 20th season of competition in grand style by competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) 2018 race in Shanghai. The C7.R racecar, which will wear a special Redline livery for the competition, will be the first factory-run Corvette to race in Asia.

The 6 Hours of Shanghai will take place from November 16-18 at the 16-turn, 5.45-km Shanghai International Circuit. NORWALK, Ohio (June 21, 2018) — The winningest driver in Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park history is eager to get back to a track where he has seen more win lights than stoplights. While John Force, driver of the PEAK Coolant and Motor Oil Chevrolet Camaro Funny Car, may only have one NHRA Funny Car win at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, the 148-time winner has picked up so many specialty wins at the August mega-event, Night Under Fire, that he feels right at home at the track outside of Cleveland.

The 16-year-old has earned two heat race wins, a dash victory and a pair of top-10 feature finishes during the first four rounds of the nine-race Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions spectacle. He currently ranks seventh in the Speedweek standings.

Dominic Scelzi Produces Two Top 10s in North Dakota With World of Outlaws

Inside Line Promotions – MINOT, N.D. (June 19, 2018) – Dominic Scelzi captured a pair of top-10 finishes last weekend in North Dakota with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

The action began on Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks during the Northern Tour. Scelzi went out late to qualify and ended up with the 18 th quickest time in his family owned, Roth Motorsports supported No. 41s.

SOD takes on Tri-City Motor Speedway this Friday

ERIE, MI (June 19, 2018) – Engine Pro Sprints On Dirt presented by ARP returns to Tri-City Motor Speedway, Auburn, Michigan, on Friday, June 22 for the first time since 2015.

The race will be the second of five SOD MAHLE/Clevite Beyond Limits Challenge races. The first BLC race was at Crystal Motor Speedway on April 28 where recent high school graduate Zane DeVault drove his 360 cubic inch sprinter to a narrow victory over Chad Blonde.

Tri-City is a slightly banked 3/8-mile track that is a fan favorite. It is recognized for its emphasis on family-focused entertainment, fan involvement, and efficiently run race programs.

Sprints On Dirt last raced at TCMS twice in 2015. Ryan Ruhl won his third SOD feature of the season on June 4. Floridian Kyle Pitts, now a Polk County, Florida, deputy sheriff, picked up his only SOD win on July 17.

Chad Blonde (Litchfield, Michigan) currently leads SOD Championship points over Shawn Valenti (Fostoria, Ohio) and Josh Turner (Osseo, Michigan). Zane DeVault (Plymouth, Indiana) leads MAHLE/Clevite Beyond Limits Challenge points. Blonde is in second and Matt Foos (Fremont, Ohio) is in third.

Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Louis has always been a favorite of Stotz Racing. Not only have we won many races but we’ve also set many records there. The Summer heat has always made the track tough to get down quickly. With track temps nearing 140 degrees this year, I was glad to have had so many successful seasons there. It did take us Friday’s test session and into Saturday’s qualifying to get a hold of the track, but Frankie qualified well with the #2 spot.

BRISTOL, Tenn. (June 17) – JEGS.com driver Jeg Coughlin Jr. has been on plenty of hot streaks during his legendary career, but not many like this one.

With a victory in the Fitzgerald USA NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals on Sunday at Bristol Dragway, Coughlin has scored three wins in the last three weekends. He won in Pro Stock in Chicago, followed that up with a Super Comp win in Richmond and extended the streak to three with the Pro Stock victory here.

“That has a nice ring to it,” Coughlin said of winning three weekends in a row. “Without question, since we’ve made some transitions within the (Elite Motorsports) team, we’ve been really fast – Erica (Enders) and I both. It feels great. Getting a Super Comp win in Virginia was really rewarding as well, and I’m very proud of that because it’s some tough racing.

Matt Tifft Records Seventh Top-10 Finish of the Season at Iowa Speedway in No. 2 Wastebits Chevrolet

“We were all over the field today. We had the challenge of starting from the rear of the field after NASCAR didn’t approve the look of our side skirts. I was able to get up to 15th before the end of Stage 1 with a pretty loose No. 2 Wastebits Camaro. After pitting for four fresh tires and air pressure adjustments, my new left front tire was killed from a lug nut that got stuck in it before we even got off pit road, which forced us to pit for a second time during the stage break for a replacement tire. That shuffled us back in the lineup for the start of Stage 2. From there I was able to battle back up and stay in the top 10 for the majority of the remaining laps. We had great long run speed but just needed a little more out of our car to fire off with. Overall, we were able to get a top-10 finish out of the day, so we’ll take it and learn from it during the off week.”
