Austin Dillon and the Dow Racing Team Show Speed at Martinsville Speedway Despite Unscheduled Pit Stop
“There is nothing better than short track racing, especially at Martinsville Speedway. We didn’t qualify very well, but I wasn’t really worried about that because we have been in that position before and have been able to rebound come race time. This weekend was no different. We raced our way into the top-11 by lap 100. Our day took a turn towards the end of Stage 2 when we were running 10th and cut a right-front tire. We went 10 laps down pitting under green and trying to repair the sway bar. I’m bummed we had those issues, but we still had an extremely fast Dow Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. I wish we could have battled at the end.”

After experiencing a rare mechanical issue during qualifying on Saturday at Martinsville Speedway, Paul Menard and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team will start Sunday’s First Data 500 with a fresh engine under the hood of the No. 21 Fusion.

AUSTIN, TEXAS (Oct. 23, 2018)- Kyle Kirkwood of Jupiter, Florida, reminded the world why he is the 2018 F3 Americas Championship Powered by Honda regional champion after winning the inaugural season finale at the Circuit of the Americas Formula 1 United States Grand Prix on Sunday. In the closest finish of the season, Kirkwood, who suffered substantial front wing damage at the beginning of the race, took the checkered less than three tenths of a seconds before Benjamin Pedersen of Copenhagen, Denmark. With a win in the opening round on Saturday, Kirkwood swept his fourth F3 Americas weekend of the season, adding 15 total wins to his season record. Scelzi recorded a podium finish during the opening round and he entered Saturday’s A Main ranked second in event points. LAS VEGAS (Oct. 24, 2018) — To say the battle for the 2018 Funny Car world championship has been a wild ride for reigning Funny Car champion Robert Hight is an understatement of epic proportions. After the St. Louis event, the second race of the NHRA Countdown to the Championship, Hight took over the Funny Car points in spectacular fashion, endured a broken collarbone and the ensuing surgery, picked up a win at the next event in Dallas, and held off a charge by his closest competitor two weeks ago in Charlotte. Heading into the NHRA Toyota Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway the two-time champion finds himself in familiar territory. Like in his 2017 championship campaign, there are two races left in the season with eight rounds of racing remaining and a championship on the line with every pass.
