 September 27th 2026 – Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA secured a double points finish at the 6 Hours of Fuji, with the No.38 taking the checkered flag in P5 and the No.12 in P7. Qualifying for the 6 Hours of Fuji on Saturday had been cancelled due to poor visibility. As a result, the starting grid was determined by the combined fastest times from all free practice sessions. Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA lined up in P7 (No.38) and P10 (No.12). A chaotic and incident-filled race followed, with the VSC and safety car coming out and neutralising the race on a number of occasions. Despite overtaking being notoriously difficult around this track, both cars were able to make up positions throughout the race. By hour four, the No.38 had progressed to P4 and the No.12 was running in P9. With an hour to go, the No.12 received a drive through penalty, which had to be served immediately after the latest safety car period, resulting in the car dropping down the field. The No.38 also fell foul of the safety car period, having to stop for fuel and losing position. With 20 mins of the race to go, the race was restarted and both cars set about a final push to the finish. The No.38 took the checkered flag in P5 with the No.12 taking P7, securing further Championship points and closing the gap to third in the Manufacturers’ Championship. |

We had a competitive car again, that showed strong pace, but also had some safety car periods that didn’t go our way and a couple of penalties that we picked up. We looked good at points of the race and struggled at other points, and we had a few penalties along the way. With an hour or so to go, it looked like we’d be fighting for P9 or P10 at best, so the fact that we came away with P7 shows that if you keep plugging away and keep pushing, you can recover. From that side, it’s positive to come away with some points even on a tough day. I think we were in the fight for the podium if we’d managed to get absolutely everything out of it today, but it was a pretty wild race with a lot of interruptions, so it was quite a tricky one. The car ran well and we had a pretty mistake-free race, which is always what we want. It’s just a shame not to come away with a trophy.” No. 38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, Earl Bamber: “It was an okay day. We probably could have got a bit more out of it, but pace-wise we were there. A top-five finish is okay, but I think there was potentially a little more available.” No. 38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, Sébastian Bourdais: “Overall, it was a decent day. There were some very tricky calls to make on the pit wall and, with the last one, you had to gamble on the future. When you look at how hard we fought to come back from the incident with Earl early on, and a start where he seemed to get all the bad breaks, to then be knocking on the door of a podium and come away with fifth, I don’t think we should be too disappointed.
