| POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (June 29, 2026) – CD Racing’s Matthew Brabham continued his domination of the 2026 Trans Am by Pirelli season with a flag-to-flag win Sunday at Wisconsin’s Road America circuit. Brabham put his #16 GYM SODA Ford Mustang on the pole, shattering the lap record he set in qualifying last year by nearly two seconds. Brabham grabbed the lead at the start of the 100-mile sprint, saw off an early-race challenge by Paul Menard, and took the checkered flag a stunning four miles ahead of the second-place finisher, former series champion Tomy Drissi. Qualifying suggested a close race between Brabham and Menard; while Brabham clocked the first-ever sub-two-minute Trans Am lap of the four-mile circuit on his way to his seventh-straight pole start, Menard was just 0.14 seconds off Brabham’s time. But when the green flag fell Brabham quickly established a consistent lead. And after Menard’s car suffered a flat tire near the race’s three-quarter mark Brabham was unchallenged. Even a late-race full-course yellow that bunched up the field was no threat; Brabham had already lapped the second- and third-place cars. “It’s never easy out there,” Brabham said after climbing from his GYM SODA Mustang. “It’s not over until the checker. I had a strong lead last month at Lime Rock and then the clutch broke. Paul had a flat today. I might have had one as well.” Road America marked the beginning of the second half of the 12-race Trans Am season and Brabham’s and CD Racing’s sixth win; that mechanical issue at Lime Rock Park in May the only blemish on an otherwise perfect season for the team. The Wisconsin victory extended Brabham’s championship lead to 34 points. “Congratulations to Matty and the team for an outstanding job today,” said Dyson, the winner of the Road America race last year, who this weekend was celebrating his eldest son’s high-school graduation. For more than four decades Road America has long been one of the Dyson family’s signature circuits. Building on the legacy of victories there in IMSA and Pirelli World Challenge competition over four decades, Chris Dyson’s Trans Am effort has yielded wins in 2020, 2021, 2025 and now 2026. Brabham’s latest triumph extends one of the most successful track records in the Dyson organization’s history. Next Up: Watkins Glen Doubleheader Dyson has won three of the six most recent races at the historic Watkins Glen International track (2024 and both ends of the 2021 twin bill), all from the pole. “I’m looking forward to getting back in the #20 GYM SODA Mustang next month at Watkins Glen,” Dyson said. “Along with Lime Rock it’s one of the team’s home tracks. We love to race there and look forward to being there with our family and seeing a lot of our friends and fans.” Click here for more on Chris Dyson Racing.
