WATKINS GLEN, NY (June 28, 2026) – Cadillac Racing dominated at Watkins Glen International with Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber and Frederik Vesti winning from the pole in the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R, in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.  Filipe Albuquerque and Ricky Taylor, drivers of the No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R, finished seventh while their teammates, Louis Deletraz and Jordan Taylor, drivers of the No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R, finished eighth. The No. 40 had contact with a Porsche with about 2 hours to go. Jordan Taylor drove the car to pit lane and they replaced the tires and tail wing. The car was able to stay on the lead lap.  Bamber, Aitken and Vesti led 143 of 182 laps to score their second victory of the season and their record-extending eighth podium finish. They also won last month in Detroit.  It’s the 35th victory for Cadillac since 2017 and the fifth career IMSA win for Aitken, the 12th win for Bamber and the third win for Vesti.
Aitken also leads the point standings by 203 points over Laurin Heinrich while the Whelen Cadillac team has a 245 point lead over the No. 93 Acura. Cadillac leads the manufacturer standings by 80 points over Porsche.

What they’re saying:
No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R Jack Aitken: “Amazing. It was a real tough one today. Had a lot of stuff thrown at us and had to battle our way through it. But it was a really, really fast ride, that I had with the 31 Cadillac. All the guys continue to do an awesome job and I can’t believe how long we’re keeping this going.” What was thrown at you that was the biggest challenge?  “Having the strategy split a little bit, a couple of stops from the end. We had to work our way through a couple of guys and just wait for the stops to play out. We had the fuel advantage. A couple of guys managed to dive early under a yellow, we managed to keep the pace, keep the fuel advantage and jump them at the last stop. So, awesome work on the strategy.” Earl Bamber: “It was super tight. We had some really ferocious battles all throughout the race. It looked easy, but the whole time it wasn’t.  here were a few cars that really showed up there for a while, the BMW, the Acura was on our toes all day, and the No. 5 there at the end. So, there was some really great hard racing, but what set that up all day was Jack’s pole position. We got track position and then the guys in the pit lane, this whole bunch here is the reason why we keep staying out front. So ,thanks to these guys behind us. It was amazing to win here at Watkins Glen, and I managed to get another endurance cup win and extend that streak to, what is it, 9 now? I don’t know. It’s just amazing momentum, a great organization to be part of, and let’s roll on to Road America, where it’s a new format. It’s going to be something interesting with 6 hours there, everyone can’t wait.” Frederik Vesti: “Yeah, I’m so happy to actually make it to Watkins (Glen). Obviously not all teams are using three drivers, so it just means we have a little bit less time in practice. But in the race, we think we can share the drive time a bit better, keep Jack in this case fresh for the end, which is an advantage. It was actually a pretty hard day today, so it worked out really well. And for myself, it’s just so cool to be a part of this team. We all started the beginning of last year, had a bit of a rough start to the season, but since then, we have done some incredible things. And it’s not only us, it’s the team, it’s everyone in Cadillac as well who are just pushing so hard for these results to come. We are not taking it for granted. We’re putting in the hours, and it’s just very cool to have these kind of results.”

No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R Filipe Albuquerque: “A long race, a lot happened. A lot of chaos and a lot of safety cars. It’s just a shame because today we had the opportunity for a podium. Unfortunately, the pit stop, the other guys over cut us, and we struggled a lot behind somebody and we could not pass. So, those three cars that did it a lap after and they were on full tires. I could not pass them. And I think that dictated a lot because then trying to pass them, I cooked my tires and after that was a spiral, surviving for the rest of the race. I could still not pass them and I just went backwards. It’s a shame. It is what it is. I think we still need to work more. The whole team is getting better. I think we’re working well, but we’re still missing the switch that makes the car alive. So onto Road America. In between we will test, so that’s going to be important for us.” Ricky Taylor: “I think we were pretty upbeat throughout practice about the car, and then the race came around and we just got stuck in the mid-pack. We actually got lucky with that yellow at the end, but these P7 finishes are just kind of torture at this point. Yeah, I don’t know what we’re missing today. We’ll keep working. We have a test in Road America before the race. So our first time getting a good test since Sebring, which was our best race of the year. So hopefully we can learn something, but at this point, pretty frustrated.” No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R Louis Deletraz: “A pretty crazy race today. First of all, big congrats to Cadillac and the 31 team. Great win for the Cadillac family. Obviously frustrating for our side. We got a hit in the middle of the race and that punctured one tire and broke our rear wing; which we were upfront and it cycled us completely to the back. So very unfortunate and kind of screwed our race after this. We tried to recover, tried different strategy, but the luck never came back. Not the result we live for, but a huge thank to you to Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing and I’m looking forward to Road America.” Jordan Taylor: “A disappointing day overall. I think we had a really fast car. We saw it in qualifying and then in the first couple stints, Louis seemed really strong. In my stint, I thought we had a good car as well, and I was making a move for a third on the 6 car, and I should have probably known who I was racing and knew he probably wouldn’t leave much room. He hit me in the right rear in the Bus Stop, which sent us off and gave us damage, so that kind of put us on the back foot the rest of the day. Which is unfortunate because I think we should have been on the podium today, and that kind of killed us. So kind of the way our season has been going, but at least we’ve got some speed in the car and we can go to Road America with that.”
