The 2026 NHRA season officially kicks off this weekend at the legendary NHRA Gatornationals, and Randy Meyer Racing (RMR) is heading to Gainesville looking to build on last year’s Gatornationals victory.
Matt Cummings, Florida-native, captured the win at this event in 2025, helping him secure a 2nd place in the national standings last year, setting the tone for a strong second season with RMR in 2026. As the defending event champions, the team returns motivated and ready to start the new year with the same momentum.
“It is so awesome to start the race season close to home,” Matt said. “We are going back to try and defend our 2025 GatorNats victory. It’s been too long since I have been with my team and in the dragster.”
While Matt looks to defend his title, this weekend marks a milestone for McKenna Bold as she makes her first career start at the Gatornationals. After an offseason focused on preparation, she’s ready to officially begin her 2026 NHRA championship campaign.
“Race one of the 2026 season is finally here and I couldn’t be more excited to be back with my team,” McKenna said. “All the hard work in the offseason leads to this so I know my guys are going to give me a great race car and I’ll try to do my best job behind the wheel. The goal heading into this weekend and really the entire year will be simple; take every race one round at a time and turn on as many win lights as possible, and hopefully collect some of the new 75th edition Wallys along the way.”
Off the track, fans have been getting their first look at McKenna’s new 2026 livery. The team recently installed the updated design on her Top Alcohol Dragster, and a full behind-the-scenes video of the wrap process is now live on YouTube, giving fans an inside look at how the new look came together.
To celebrate the new season, McKenna’s 2026 t-shirts are officially now in stock and now available to order! The new design highlights her 2025 regional championship and showcases the fresh dragster look that will debut this weekend. Orders are shipping now, just in time for race season.
Qualifying begins Thursday in Gainesville, with eliminations set for Saturday and Sunday. Fans can follow along on NHRA.tv and across RMR’s Facebook channel for updates throughout the weekend.
