BRABHAM SCORES DOMINATING WIN FOR CD RACING IN SEBRING TRANS AM SEASON OPENER
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (March 2, 2026) – Matthew Brabham, CD Racing’s primary driver for the 2026 season, drove the #16 GYM WEED Ford Mustang to a clean sweep Sunday at the Trans Am by Pirelli season-opening race at Sebring International Raceway. Brabham started from pole position, set the race’s fastest lap, led every lap and was unchallenged in any of the event’s four yellow-flag restarts. Brabham, who closed out the team’s 2025 with a win in Austin, added his 9th career series win at Sebring in similarly emphatic fashion: he won the final-lap, “green-white-checker” shootout by a stunning three-second margin over second-place Paul Menard.

“The car was so good to drive,” said an exultant Brabham, who also won for CD Racing at Sebring in 2023. “It was just awesome! Thanks to Chris and Rob (Dyson) and the team for the opportunity they are giving me.”

Brabham noted that Sebring’s notoriously bumpy racing surface, which contributes to the historic circuit’s unique character also provided a challenge in setting up the car. “The team did a fantastic job of putting the car together for this weekend. The track surface conditions were very tricky all weekend, but we had a car that was quickest the whole time. Pretty special.”

“This is a phenomenal start to the season,” said Chris Dyson, whose business commitments precluded his presence at the track. “Our cars were fast enough to win at every race last year, but as a team we weren’t as consistent as we needed to be. There were a couple of unforced errors that cost us dearly.

“Over the winter we made some technical and organizational tweaks that I believe will let us achieve the consistency that will bring CD Racing a fourth Trans Am championship and Matty’s first. And I’m looking forward to pursuing more wins as a driver, as my schedule permits.”
