Anderson on a Roll as SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals Dawn

Mooresville, N.C., April 6, 2015 – Greg Anderson and his red Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro are a powerful duo that competitors will be keeping an eye on this weekend at the 16th annual SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Anderson, who took a seat behind the wheel of the new-used red Chevy for the first time at the Gainesville event last month, was out of the gate with gusto. He raced to the Gatornationals win in his new ride, ending a long winless drought, and then followed up with a runner-up at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals while laying down his career best times for elapsed time and speed. Anderson is thrilled that the next event on the 2015 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule is his sponsor’s title event at his team owner’s home track.

“I feel great right now, and I’ve got a lot of momentum – this whole Summit Racing team does,” said Anderson. “I can’t remember the last time I could say I had a whole lot of momentum coming into a race, but I’m sure saying it now and that’s pretty cool. It’s what we want. It’s what we strive for. We feed off of the success we’ve had these last two races, and we want to keep it going. This is a Summit Racing Equipment-sponsored race, and that makes it even more important for us to keep that ball rolling and do really, really well. We are absolutely capable of that, and we love having success in front of our team owners, Ken and Judy Black. These are exciting time for KB Racing. We’re just having a blast, and we love it.”

Although disappointed that he will not have the opportunity to race for a fifth K&N Horsepower Challenge trophy this weekend, the Mooresville, N.C.-based driver comes to the plate with a record of cashing in big in Las Vegas. Anderson has enjoyed much success at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and has earned a notable seven race-wins there over the course of his career. He has also been the low qualifier five times in Las Vegas.

“I hate like heck to have to miss the K&N Horsepower Challenge. I love that race, but next year I plan on being right back in it,” said Anderson. “For now, I’m going to cheer on my teammate and see if we can get him that beautiful K&N trophy. My plan is to win the race. This has been a great racetrack for us, and we’ve had a lot of success at that place. We struggled a lot there early on, but we devoted ourselves to testing in Vegas as much as we could, and Team Summit finally cracked the case. We’ve won races, clinched championships, and felt very proud to race there with Summit Racing flying their flag. The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is like a home track for us with Ken and Judy right up the street. Two weeks ago we were in Charlotte near our raceshop, so it’s like home-cookin’ all over again for us. We have high expectations for this weekend, and I think we should.”
